This is the perfect kit for anything around 1000 watts RMS. I have it hooked to a NVX JAD1200.1, and it is perfect. I literally have nothing bad to say about this kit. Every wire is true to gauge and it comes with plenty of wire, even 40ft of speaker wire! The RCA works great and the wires are strong and flexible. It'd be nice if it was a little cheaper, but it's definitely worth it. NVX makes some of the best, high quality wires and instillation equipment.

Best wiring overall

when i received this and opened it up i was amazed when i saw how a 4ga. wire could look so much like 0ga. and bend so easily. the speaker wire is so thick that you would not believe that it is speaker wire. the wires also make your music sound so much clearer than any other wiring can. all the components are the best in quality.

Not your average amp kit.

If you're picking up a bad*ss amp, why wouldn't you pick up a PROPER wiring kit ?!
I've previously used NVX Power/Ground wire for a BIG 3 Upgrade install, and was blown away by the Quality of the wire. High Strand, True To Spec, Super Flexible, Very Durable, and Conducts Very Well. Same can be said for the Speaker Wire and RCAs. I wish NVX made a kit with their higher end RCA cables, but the ones with this kit definitely get the job done. The fact that the Power/Ground come Crimped and Shrink Wrapped really save on install time, and the flex wrap on the Power Wire makes the install look Very professional. I ended up using the other goodies (ties and connectors) for various other things, but its pretty cool that it comes with the kit.

Great true 4 gauge wire kit. Both power/ground cables are flexible easy to work with, rca calbe is great. This kit comes with everything you need for an amp install. I will be using NVX amp kits for now on future installs.

For only those who Love Amazing Sound...

If you bought another deck, I'm sorry to say you're missing out on the most high fidelity, in-car listening experience you've ever experienced.

To start, the 80prs outputs a 5v signal to your amps. This means that any outer noise introduction into the system (The Hummmmm or buzzzzz), is simply rejected. It also means your amps can "relax" a bit, as your gains will be lowered.

It features three Burr Brown DACs. One for the high, mid and low frequencies. This allows your MP3s, WAVs, etc., to sound wonderful.

On to the user interface... I personally use 64gb SD cards, class 10. This deck has no problem reading the cards quickly. And searching for songs is also easy, if they're organized in the appropriate folders. The screen is clear and easily visible, but not overly bright.

Toggling through other menu items, after you've "played" with it for an hour, and you will, makes you realize how simple this deck is to operate.

Now let's get to the auto EQ and T/A. You may read varied reviews about these features. However, I've been installing systems in all of my cars since I was 18 (32 now), and I'm not one to show too much "excitement" in my words, however, the auto EQ allows my Image Dynamics XS65 component speakers in my front and rear doors (Fully sound deadened and also acoustic material behind each midrange to bounce rear sound away from the speakers and not back into the cones.) to blend perfectly with my JL Audio 12w6 12" subwoofer (Trunk also fully sound deadened.)

The T/A microphone is hung over my driver seat headrest, pointed forward, once auto EQ and T/A has finished running (About 5 minutes.), the center stage is now directly in front of me, on my dash, as if the singer is literally sitting in front of me, persoanally singing for me. The sound the 80prs creates in my car (Clarity, depth, dynamics.) is by far the most impressive sound I've ever heard in any car, ever. It is simply something you need to experience for yourself.

If you want the best sounding system, if you want to enjoy your music to it's fullest, most exciting potential, if you want your vehicle to sound amazing, I'm telling you (And so are others running this deck), nothing, NOTHING, n-o-t-h-i-n-g comes close to competing with this deck.

Order it, enjoy it, and be sure to thank yourself for making the best decision. Your deck is the brain of your system, and the 80prs is the Albert Einstein of in-dash receivers.

Sound quality tips:

Wires and cables: Only use shielded, 100% OFC speaker wires, RCA cables and your amp install kit should consist of this, too.

Door panels and trunk: If you're replacing your speakers, you're obviously removing your doors, or have already (Once you do it once, it's simple.), be sure to add sound deadening material at least 6 inches around your midrange woofer, and also on the backside of the inside door (The plastic part). This greatly reduces any added, yet unwanted noises from vibrations. Do the trunk as well - you do not want annoying vibrations when your sub, or subs, hit. Clean up the sound before the sound is played... get me?

If you're on a tight budget, be patient and wait. Don't buy something just to buy it to move on to the next thing in desperation to complete your system. I've been putting together my system for 5 months now, $3500 later, and it's still not done... this is a passion for me, and if you're considering this deck, your car audio system should be a passion for you, too. Otherwise, except the sound from your factory system.

Excellent quality, very impressed!

At first, I was a little skeptical of NVX products, but I must say this kit feels very solid. The wire gauge is true to size and actually bigger when compared to my Stinger brand wire I've previously used. The wire is extremely flexible as well, making installation in tight places a breeze. You get everything needed to install a single amp in this kit. Don't let the name scare you away, give it a try!

Best Amplifier Kit

I take my chance when I ordered this kit. I almost spend over $100 on brand name kit. I'm glad I did bought this kit. Don't let this brand scared you. When I opened the package and saw the power cable, I know I made the right choice. The power cable is a true 4 gauge. The speaker cable ,you have enough to run both right and left from front door to the trunk and still have some left. RCA cable may look cheap but so far the signal from my head unit to the amplifier is excellent without any distortion. I love everything on this kit. Buy them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Deal

When i purchased my amplifier they gave me a butt load off the purchase price of this wiring pack.
Pro's: good quality wire very flexible and easy to work with.
Con's: Needs more wire Connectors/Terminals with kit ( that are the right size) Ex: 4 gage wire doesn't usually fit into a 6 guage wire terminal/connector.

this is my third super tuner over a lifetime I have never been disappointed, I have to say this one is really nice fairly simple great sound very clean looking. I didn't realize how bad my factory tundra stereo system was until I replaced all speakers and the head unit very happy.

Best wiring kit for that price

Wiring kit is really great! Delivers good power and isnt made with a cheap plastic isolation but with a nice flexible rubber isolation. Best wiring kit i had so far and i would buy it again if i sell my car because really....this wiring kit makes me one happy customer.

The best Sound Quality unit for the price PERIOD!

So far I have only used it in the passive mode but the time alignment and eq work great! I am very excited that I will be getting to set it up in active mode within the next month or so. There are not many head units that can do active if not any at this price. It is able to do 2 way active with sub. It is such a clean a clean unit that even at its max volume at 62 it is only at .015 THD! At around 4.75 volts. I am looking forward to many good years and good music with the 80prs! You will not be disappointed!

Amazing quality

I researched alot before getting this head deck and in my opinion there is only one better head deck for sound quality and that's it's big over priced brother lol having three 5v RCA outputs makes a huuge difference to the sound quality and there is so much you can adjust and fine tune I've personall spent hours on end playing with the settings and with a 16 band equalizer I have it set up perfectly so it's crystal clear and no longer able to hurt my ears with any nasty highs and still pump out over 146db of sound. It wouldn't be possible for my car to sound so good without it. Buy one now!!!

Quality for price this deck wins every time.

I've been wanting to do a sound quality build for some time now, but it seemed that every deck I looked at was overly priced and lacked features such as a detailed EQ, Digital to analog converters and a good built in crossover system such as in this deck.

I have a 1999 Honda accord ex and the stock stereo system was just ok to me. The main stereo didn't play Cd's very well as it would skip every song on a disc just for having 1 finger print on the Cd. The front speakers sounded pretty good for being stock they had a good bit of bass and mid bass and the treble from the in-dash tweeters actually sounded good and not at all harsh, but the rear 6X9 speakers didn't sound good at all they lacked in bass of which the front speakers actually hit good in comparison which is sad for 6X9's and the thing I noticed most ''which was probably do to the stock stereo'' is that when a song was playing with just 1-2 instruments in the song it would sound ok, but when the music got more complex the overall sound would lose it's composer/detail.

After I installed the DEH-80PRS and set loudness to on and did a quick EQ set I Noticed a immediate improvement in overall sound quality The stock Accord speakers actually sounded like a new system
The front speakers had more clarity and depth from them and the rear 6X9's actually came alive they sounded better on both highs and lows where before they where pretty much just bland, but now when I play music with some bass in it they hit almost like a small sub-woofer (although not as hard of course but you get the idea).

The overall features,sound quality and performance of this deck can not be beat from any other deck except for the Pioneer deh-99prs, but this deck coming around $900 less there's almost no point in getting the 99prs unless you want the best of the best, but either way this still makes the deh-80prs the 2nd best deck on the market hands down.

All in all this is a very good deck for the money the only thing I didn't like about the deh-80prs is that it still feels a little cheap to me since the face is made of plastic, but it still feels durable to me.

My future build includes adding on focal access components to the front stage and focal access 6X9's for the rear stage and later on they will be replaced by the focal Flax series and my amps will include a focal solid-4 for the mids and highs and a focal solid-1 for the subwoofer of which right now I have a old Kicker l7 15 that I will be using until I can afford a Focal sub-woofer.

Pioneer DEH_PRS80

This is my first Pioneer since my outstanding Premier 940MP laid down. All I can say is I am equally impressed with the sound quality of this unit! The install was typical but the sound quality is not. I used it to replace the Bose system in an older Nissan Maxima. Even with the stock speakers and amplifiers it was an instant joy to the ears. The 6 RCA outputs into the stock amps were a little odd but it worked like a charm. I set up the RTA mic and let the system do the rest. Nice flat response across the sound spectrum and the ability to boost or cut as needed to taste. I had this with the 940MP and once you have this option it is hard to do without it. I upgraded the door speakers with Infinity Reference series 2 ohm and the 8" sub with a Kicker Comp DVC 2 ohm sub. I used the factory amp from the sub assembly into the Kicker for now. Again, sound quality is perfection. Being an audio production guy and an amateur electronics nerd I appreciate the Burr Brown op amps and custom audiophile capacitors and resistors. This is where the sound quality battle is won or lost. Noise at the pre amp floor means noise at the output top! The unit is dead quiet and the distortion is nearly non existent even at max volume. I cannot speak for the Mosfet amplifier stage as I am not using it. If it is similar to the 940MP it will do just fine for most users. The Mosfets can handle the Infinity 2 ohm demand without overheating. This will get the most out of any amp put on them. I stuck with silk dome tweeters, again I am quality audio junkie. No harsh Mylar or aluminum tweets. The controls for the front and rear speakers are a level control, built in HP crossover from 50-225 with pass through, 6db and 12db per octave. The sub control has a mono, stereo switch. There is a level control, LP crossover points from 50-225 and 6db, 12db and 18db per octaves. This unit has more inputs than some live sound mixers. Two USB, a front and rear aux, Bluetooth and a front SD slot plus the CD player itself. It will play MP3 WMA (my favorite) and works with those trendy apple products too. The colors will match any dash and the analog looking VU meters are as old school as it gets. Don't expect a light show in the dash or other stuff to keep you distracted (you should be driving and not looking anyway). The controls take some getting used too but I have a long commute so it didn't take long for me to catch on. If you want a professional quality unit, this is THE one.

Bought this kit to run 1000 rms, some high grade power wire, very flexible, the terminations are perfect, came with lots of speaker wire... only bad thing I can say about this it the interconnect RCA cable came damaged... and the plugs on it feel really cheap, the insulation by one of the plugs was broken, just the outer jacket the inner insulation was fine, but it broke in an area where there would be high tension, right against the connector. all in all great kit for just the wires appears to be true to set and ofc, fuse holder was nice as well, just RCA was junk...

Quality head unit

This head unit was as simple/difficult as any other head unit to install. I put it in my 90 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo that originally had a bose stereo. I paired it with an older hifonics nemesis nx880 amp. I am running some cdt audio components and an 8 ohm home woofer for some lows. The tuning options were great and all the extra's are pretty awesome. I'd recommend this head unit.

Best head unit I have ever owned! The features this radio comes with for cost, has to be the best bang for your buck unit out there!
There may be units out there that can do a little more, but at triple the price, for those looking to step up in the quality of their sound image without breaking the bank, this is the radio for you!
Two small gripes keep it from having a perfect score, there is a production flaw that leaves what looks like a very small crack on the right side of the faceplate. It is very small but if you look close you will see it, and it takes awhile to learn how to navigate thru all the controls this head unit has. I got it down after a few days, but none the less it is a little user UNfriendly.
Past that, this headunit has given me the best "sound stage" I have ever had in a vehicle and I couldn't be happier with it.

Amp Install Kit

Not much to say about this. The wire is extremely flexible and its true 4 awg copper wire. The only thing I don't like is the speaker wire is hard to strip if your not using a knife. I got a good deal with a nvx bda750.1 with this wire. I highly recommend that amp if your on a budget.

Great Amp!

This amp was an awesome buy! Precision Power has been around for quite a long time, so I knew their reputation before buying this amp (always made good stuff).
I put this in my son's car to power his whole system, and the mids and highs are crystal clear along with powerful bass. The remote bass control is good for turning the bass down quickly when the blue light specials are enforcing sound ordinance laws. Who wants a ticket for listening to a little bass ((((( right?

Nicest speakers I have owned

I bought 4 of these on sale and I'm quite happy with them. They have a separate crossover device which is kinda bulky and could make installation a challenge if space is tight but it works very well. I had plenty of room in my F-350 but in a compact car it could be tight. It can increase or decrease the gain of a specific frequency to tailor it to your system. The sound is nice and the tweeters can be detached and be used as satellites. When spending this much on speakers you will need a high end head unit or you are wasting your money. These may or may not not be the best speaker out there but they are the nicest set that I have ever owned.
Bottom line: I would buy these again.

Great price with plenty of power

There are other brands with the same board that this amp uses from NVX 900.5 and polks pa d5000.5, but this PPI have the lowest price and more watts per channel especially the sub channel. I was worried that this amp might cause hissing noise, but nope. Everything sound nice and clear. I have a 4 volt pre out from my pioneer x4500bt and I set it at 3/4 volume which is 30. My gains are at half for all channels. No distortion.

I recommend this amp install kit. High quality solid copper with a heavy 4 gauge power wire. This is the second kit I've purchased and installed. Comes with everything needed for a complete job without buying a bunch of other stuff. Nice price point also...

Fantastic amp

Couldn't be happier with this amp, solid construction, looks great, sounds absolutely amazing, but the best part us the power, I run 6.5 components up front, 6.5 coaxial in the rear and a dual voice coil single 12 inch sub which is paralleled down to 2 ohms. Good Amp For The Pice

Amp Produces Good Clean Powerful Sound at a good price. Rumor has it that some of the cheaper amps use the same circuit board as the more expensive amps, but then again everything is made in asia now days. Anyway if you are on a budget like me, this is the best bang for the buck. Doesn't produce earth shattering bass, but produces good balanced sound across all frequencies.

Great Single Din Deck!

Very happy with this deck. I came from a lower end pioneer deck to this one and I do notice a slight sound difference. It seems to be a bit more clear so slightly better sound quality.

Another improvement is that my old deck would regularly mess up with my steering wheel buttons. It would just randomly stop working when it was colder outside. So far with this new deck it has never happened & I did not change any wiring with the new deck (kept the old ones installed)

The look of it is great, looks very professional & good quality however I'm not sure on the durability of the swivel button on it which is what broke on my old deck.

Setting up the system is easy however tuning it properly is harder then older systems. So unless you are good with sound systems and know what all the different options mean its best to get a pro to tune it. I did an ok job myself however I ended up taking it to my stereo guy and he made it much better and also tuned it so the door speakers are just used for highs and by sub takes care of the bass. This way I wont end up blowing my door speakers over time.

value for audio quality

Auto eq and auto time align gives you a good starting point. Face plate and chassis feels flimsy, will miss the old school motorized flips. Pioneer menus takes time to get use to. Has enough audio features and config for any user, highly customizable sound, takes time though. For an budget audiophile deck it can be a little more subtle (less flash) and a smaller rotary knob would be nice. In a 98 honda civic: even when a spacer is used to shim the deck out, the rotorary know still touches the bezel when its opened to insert cd or face plate removal. Made in thailand worries me a little also, regarding quality control, components used.

Pioneer Professional Series Rocks!

I can"t say enough about this deck. It has a clean simple face, without all the flash, and produces the best sound I have ever heard. It is truly a great value in that Pioneer applied all their technology on this one to produce the highest quality sound ever. The best feature is the Auto EQ feature which tunes the internal enviroment of your vehicle and tunes it directly to the drivers seat (if desired). It's like having the artists playing just for you and the sound is truly the best I have ever heard. It's like hearing all your music for the first time again.

this amp install kit comes with everything needed to properly power your amp power wire seems to be of good construction and rca cables seem to be pretty descent . the only thing i didn't like was the speaker wire is small for a 1000 watt amp.

I love the small footprint and was shocked how much sound came from this small looking amplifier,this is my 1st time of owning a class D amp so i was a little weary about running my sub at 2 ohms, but not only does it sound clean but it doesnt get super hot either!,I built a little amp rack for it and mounted it under the rear left 6 3/4 speaker on the panel above the rear seat and even after playing it for over 5 , 6 hours straight this amp got warm but never really hot, when it got warm i just opened the rear window above it and it cooled right back down again, never saw it go into protection mode yet:) I really liked the 0 guage adapters it came with too, even though I had to trim my 1/0 wire to get it to fit I was happy I diddnt have to use a distribution block for power or ground,overall I love this amp,for the power and price I got it for im gonna give it 3 stars on durability cause I have had it for a few months now and cant rate durability just yet,but so far im very impressed!

Nice Amp for the Money

In general, I am happy with this amplifier, and I don't think you can do any better at this price. I wasn't sure about it after initially hooking it up, but after using it for a week and fine tuning, I think it is well worth the money. It is hooked up to JBL front components and a JBL subwoofer right now, so I am not using the rear channels yet, but may add rear fill speakers in the future, which is why I got the 5 channel. You will not be disappointed with this amp. Also, I love how easy a 5 channel amp is to install instead of multiple amp setups (No distribution blocks!)

Pros:
Price, features (Subsonic filter, LPF, HPF, Bass knob, etc.), looks nice, sounds great, doesn't run hot at all (just barely gets warm so far, and I am running at 2 ohms)

Cons:
Not CEA-2006 Compliant, but it seems to provide enough power

Best 5 Channel Amp for the price.

I spent a few months researching, asking questions to dozens of people who were "experts" in car audio online and elsewhere about Speakers, Amps, etc.. Most of what I had initially had in mind changed after their input. One resounding recommendation was the buy the PPI Brand amplifier. Low or Medium high budget.. everyone liked the quality.

I originally was going to buy a PPI 900.4.. but at the last minute found the PPI 900.5. In my car (350Z) I have four 6.5" speakers.. and the front 6.5" speakers are in the doors low.. and the tweeters are in the panels by the windows (components factory).

So I needed something to power 4 6.5" speakers with 1" tweeters (aftermarket) that ran 70-80watt RMS per speaker and MY choice on the Sub was a JL 10" sub that ran at 300Watts RMS.

The PPI 900.5 was about as close as you could get to these needs (but don't be afraid to buy MORE amp than your speakers require (you set the gains remember).

I was hesitant about a "Class D" amplifier to begin with.. having always used Class A/B.. but I went with about a dozen recommendations and bought it.

I've since installed and wired the whole car myself.. and am 10 times over more impressed than I ever thought I would be with this setup -- and the Amp drives it all.

A cheap/bad amp gives unclean power and you hear that.

I have supreme Sound Quality.. incredibly SPL .. with Clean Mids, Bright (but not overly bright) highs.. and the 10" Sub is in a Sealed custom box for the vehicle at .66 Cubic Ft,.. and this amp drives it very, very well. It's tight, quick response bass -- but if I'm watching a movie on my DDX470's DVD player, it's like being in a Movie theater with the rumbling bass etc.

Bottom line -- Don't hesitate if this amp meets your power requirements.

Nothing fancy just great sound. Lots of customization. So, it may be hard to tune-up but just spend some time with it and you will be rewarded with awesome sound, which will help to bring best out of your setup. Network mode is nirvana for sound maniacs. Frequency splitting is done by DSP not through active crossover and every bandwidth has it's own DAC. So, each signal is super clean. You need at least 5 amplifications channels but it worth it. Really. I wish to have matte finish instead of glossy one.

Smooth, Accurate speakers

I bought these speakers last December, so I was running them for five months. They do sound really good. I had them crossed over at about 100 hz so I can't comment on lower bass extension. But the mids and highs are pretty good. Excellent as a matter of fact. Much better than the Pioneer's that they replaced (TS-6802R), but they should be at 4x the cost. The thing that is most evident, is that these speakers do not fatigue the ears, like many cheaper speakers even at high volume. I had the four door speakers (2 JL audio in front doors, 2 Alpine in the back doors) powered by a Rockford Fosgate P-500-4 running through a JL audio Clean Sweep from factory Head Unit.

Nice Class D amp, good value, rated power

After a couple weeks of research I decided to pull the trigger on the PPI 900.5 amp. I am using this amp to power JL Audio C2-650 components in the front, C2-650x coaxials in the back and a 12" Infinity Kappa 120.9W sub in a 1.0 cu/ft sealed enclsure. The speakers are 60 Watts RMS and the subwoofer is up to 350 Watts RMS, which makes this a nice amplifier to power this setup. At first I was a little skeptical about going with a PPI amp as opposed to an Alpine, JBL or Kicker amp, but I trusted all of the reviews I read online and I am glad that I did. The PPI amp is at least $100-$200 cheaper than comparable amps from the brands I mentioned and even though I can't compare this amp directly to any of the other amps, I can say with confidence that this amp is well made and does rated power. My only issue with this amp is that the frequencies on the crossovers aren't identified (for example, 80 Hz isn't labeled) so this makes it difficult to tune. That being said, at this price point I am willing to make that concession.

Sweet and powerful

I was looking for a component solution for my 2009 F150 and the standard 5x7 component sets that are mostly available on the market were not very good quality or performance. They typically sound tinny and shallow at best. I bought these speakers without hearing them and really felt I was taking a chance. To my surprise they are incredible and represent a solid value. I custom mounted the tweeters in my pillars up high and the soundstage produced is huge compared to using the factory locations lower in the door panel. This really goes against the installation guidelines due to the distance between the drivers yet I never sense any gap in the sound. They are driven by a Sounstream Reference 4 channel amp and the combo works great together. My music taste vary anywhere from classic rock to country to jazz and in all genres they deliver. The crossovers have enough flexibility to allow you compensate for different placement and acoustic situations. The woofer / mid-woofers are not going to give you mighty bass but they will give you a warm midrange and midbass. The tweeters are the best part as they reveal all the subtle differences in your music maybe some you have never heard before. II highly recommend them.

Best RCA in a kit ever!

Most RCA cables in these kits are bottom of the barrel, cheap crap. I work with precision calibration equipment and measured the capacitance of the RCA and both channels with a 1693 RLC digi-bridge (traceable to NIST) and they came out to about 25-26 pF per foot! I bought the standalone X-series RCAs from NVX and these were also 25pF. I'm convinced NVX doesn't sell a single bad cable or accessory.

The kit came with numerous adapters for mounting the cables to power and ground sources and even some quick disconnects. Highly recommend this kit!

I bought these JL audio C3-570 components for my 2012 F-150 Ford Harley Davidson truck, and I can say I am happy with them. These speakers sound very crisp and clear if you are looking for clearity. I have these 5x7 components speaker driven by a 400x4 JL Audio amplifier and they work great together. This components woofer is not going to give you that deep bass, but will give you a decent bass. The tweeters sound really Cristi and clear. I have had a lot of speakers I have tried on my trucks and these components are by far the best I have heard in a long time. I also have these running of a kenwood double din head unit with a 13 band equalizer that helps make a difference in sound. Great sub

I bought two of these for my Chevy Avalanche. I needed a sub that I can install without altering my truck. These are in individual 0.55 cubic feet boxes under the rear seats and I have a MB Quart RAB 1450 amp pushing them wired to 1ohm (about 450 watts RMS) and they sound great. I kept my factory Bose system and just added this setup and I'm very satisfied. There's plenty of bass inside and outside my truck. Definitely recommend for anyone especially if you have limited space.

Installed this with a 4 channel amp running 4 identical coaxial speakers. Initial sound quality was unimpressive but after running the auto eq and time delays was much more impressed. Running passive, so cannot comment on active performance or sound quality.

Sound quality is nice - though I have nothing to compare to.

Forward/back control is a rotating piece under the volume knob which is frankly annoying and feels flimsy.

Bluetooth integration is very very useful. Doesn't display any track information on the unit like some do.

Phone calling integration is pretty good. Phone book is transferred onto the unit so you can initiate calls from the deck itself. Never take your phone out of your pocket.

Works very well playing music while also doing GPS navigation all off a phone. The music mutes nicely, the voice gives the directions, then the music fades back in. Don't need the phone screen on, again can just leave it in your pocket.

Radio works well, searching and clarity are fine.

CD player no complaints, does the job.

The menus are not exactly intuitive to use, reading the manual solves that though.

Overall a very nice unit, and while expensive I am happy with it and feel the price is justified.

Simply Amazing

Arrived in the morning, installed and setup with the Auto-EQ and Auto-Timing within 1 hour. Easy.

On flat the Headunit is great, but if you take 10min to setup the EQ, timing and passes it's just simply amazing how clear and how well this head unit reproduces sound. By far the best unit I've owned.

The unit is 5 star for quality reproduction and clarity, but I found the interface a little difficult at the start and it's a little underpar on the screen compared to what others have to offer. The design is a little mediocre in my opinion and this is also why it didn't score 5 star on durability. But it makes up for all this in features!

Hope this helps you all if you can find one of these to buy!

Nice amp for the price

Pros: This amp run nice and clean from what I could see on my scope and by the sound it puts out. The power is great and the sub ch pushes my 600 watt rms sub real good. The amp stays cool but I have a few fans helping it just in case.

Cons: What I don't like was the screws for power, they are a bit hard to tighten because the case gets in the way. I had to find the right size to get in and be sure not to strip the heads of the screws. Also not enough number markings on the settings. I had a hard time trying to set the high pass at 80-90 hz because the lack of markings on the settings. Not hard to figure out but more numbers stamped on it would have been nice. And the last part was the mounting holes to hold it down. You have to use a screw with a small head to fit in the mounting hole, wood screws wont work they are way to wide.

I found this unit very simple to use. It has so many features to fine tune the sound to your liking like Time Alignment and various other filters and equalizers to play with and sounds very good. Just like its cousin...that's a good thing.

This sub is the same as the Hifonics Gladiator GLX10D4 (which was $30 cheaper), just with MB Quart graphics on it. I have one in a sealed .8 cu. ft downward firing box (no polyfill) with 320W RMS. The sub plays low and is tight -sounding already, so no need for me to go with a smaller box and polyfill to compensate. I got it because it can be 2 ohm configured to match my amp's RMS output perfectly. It's a great-sounding sub and fits my application well. I haven't tried to put it in a ported box since the manual does not say it's OK to do so, but I think this sub would be much louder and still retain its tight sound in a 1.0 cu. ft ported box. That would defeat the purpose of having a sub capable of shallow mounting though...so small sealed it is. With some break-in time, I hope it does get a bit louder than it is now, but I am satisfied with the low end range in my small sedan. Sensitivity is a bit low at 82 dB, other shallows I own go as high as 90 dB so you can hear them better at lower volumes. If you need a shallow sub, this one will fit the bill - but you may want a little more oomph if it's in your trunk and not in the cabin with you.

Good for small systems with no bass.

I put 1 of these under the rear seat of my Quad cab sierra denali. There was plenty of space for it plus an amp. But didnt produce enough for my liking. For the price and mounting depth it is pretty good. If you want to feel the bass you will want multiple (4+) There is just not enough excursion to get much SPL or db out of one or two. But they were pretty clean. So if a little fullness is all you need than these will work and u can save a Little $ too.

Quality 5 channel amp for budget price

This amp does pretty well for price and size. it does get hot,I have it under the false floor in the boot of my a4 avant -not vented yet it's driving two sets of morel virtus 6.5 and a nvx 15" at 2ohm sealed box . I have run PPI amps since the mid 90's Skipping many of the not good years of ppi
This was a fall back amp while my other amp is being returned for being partially DOA on arrival- massive audio nx5
I had this running for a 4hr road trip in phx AZ an it didn't shut down do to heat yet
Definitely recommend this amp ,solid built. Only gripes I have are the speaker terminals top screws under a over hang and 1/0 to 4 reducer don't fit in the amp terminal very well

Beyond Expectations!! Awsome Sub!!

I was searching for a slim sub for my 1998 Chevy Suburban. I found this MB Quart RLP254 and liked the specs I read. I had to design and build my own custom enclosure just because I wanted it to be under the middle seat on driver side. There are plenty of available enclosures out there that this sub would work perfectly in, just not for my exact design. I was able to get the enclosure to .77cu.ft. and packed full of heavy poly-fil just like the specs suggests. best part is the box is completely out of the way and "invisible"!! After all said and done..... WOW!! This sub hits hard and is extremely accurate and tight! Just one 10" sub fills my full size Suburban with clean, accurate, tight bass like some other 2-3 sub systems I've owned in the past, of course it doesn't pound the side walks loose like those systems but if I were to run 2-3 of these MB Quarts I bet they would with ease! If your looking for a high performance slim designed subwoofer... look no further!!

I installed this head unit in my 2005 MINI Cooper S about a month ago. I haven't gone through all of the options yet but so far it does everything I wanted it to do. I mainly use it with my 160gig ipod classic and the scrolling search feature is far superior to the older Pioneer head unit I have in my other car. The sound is crystal clear but it could use more power (I plan on adding an amplifier in the future). There are plenty of color choices, but none are exactly the color of my gauges (not really a bad point, just a fact).

Researched a little on subs. Found this sub for best fit on budget and specs. Built homemade sealed box aprox. .25cuft as manual says for each. Placed behind f250 crew cab seat. Powered by a mono block 1200w amp. Did previously buy first sub from diff. Store at higher price. These 10s perform great. Very clean bass. Highly recommended.

I put two of these in a Ford Explorer yesterday I had to do a budget system so the only thing that wasnt dual waz these subs I put two in a box that waz way to big for them because of the customers wants but surprisingly they hit pretty hard I had a dual 300 watt amp hookt up to them (300 is RMS for one and i waz pushing about 250 watts datz 125 a sub if setup right) and these subs flext the back glass thiz waz on a 600 dollar build including the wire and dana mat and all the other odds and ends

Alright so this is brutal and honest from a man from the old school.

This amp was ok when I got it... Heard it in another friends car and honestly I was immediately impressed. To be honest; when you get a good batch of one of these; they are awesome... But don't be fooled... Epsilon who also owns Soundstream, Crunch, and Power Acoustik is behind this amp... So QC and build quality are hit and miss... Gone are the days of PPI meaning a 15 year life gem... That rant being said, this amp lives in my wife's Subaru Forester under the trunk floor. It powers a CDT Audio 3 way set, a set of CDT Audio high def coaxes and a Sundown Audio SD2-8 subwoofer. Since new there has been a whine (not a rise and fall like an alternator) but a small whine that gets covered around 7 out of 40 on the Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS deck... Now before you start yelling Pico Fuses; that has been checked... I simply got a bad one... By the time all my troubleshooting was exhausted my warranty had lapsed by 4 months... So I am out of luck...

The left front channel is staticy and garbled upon first turn on until around 9 of 40 volume on the deck and then straightens out. I remounted all the crossovers and I have been installing since 1991 so please don't think I'm a noob... I thought hey maybe the factory wiring is bad... Nope, reran all new wiring (I had used 9 conductor speed wire prior--which I bought here) So long story short don't second guess yourself... I got a bad unit... Even Epsilon agrees; but my warranty is up... Never again...

I am beyond frustrated... If you get a good one; you will be happy; if not you will have your gig harshed and have your wife angry at you like I do... Sad part is... I spent around 1800.00 on her system... I read reviews detailing how this is the same basic amp as a Hertz HCP-5 for far less coin... I auditioned one... I bought in... I got burned... :(

Better than expected

I bought 2 of these for the storage compartment in a 2007 Trailblazer. Well we bought a minivan and guess what I get to drive. Anyways very impressed with these little subs so far. I have them in a 1.3 cubic ft box with medium fill and an 1100 watt Diamond Audio amp wired at 1 ohm. Not broke in yet and they fill the van nicely and don't take up the whole back. Definately recommend

The best SQ receiver for the money on the market!

If you want the best receiver on the market for the money, this is it. I replaced a Sony HU with this one, and the difference is like night and day. The SQ is amazing, features are flawless, and as anybody knows the HU is the "brains" of any sound system. The features are layered, and can be a little complicated, but like with any HU you will figure which features do what you want. It just takes practice. All of my vehicles will be using this head unit as the brains. No question about it.

Excellent deck for the money!

Recommended by a friend so I decided to get it. Install was simple with the idatalink setup to retain steering wheel controls for dodge magnum. The 5 volt pre out and the auto tune with mic was icing on the cake. Menu navigation could be simpler for the frequency adjustments but this radio is worth the money.

Missed it after sold

I thought I liked it when I had it after selling it I really got to see how great it was going to other radios it's really feature packed and will fine tune sound like nothing else at all get it now

Good sound but quirky

The "second" one worked much better than the first. The sound is really tight and clear with tons of power. The crossovers and external sub volume work well. However, this amp is power hungry. You will need a strong 12v on/off signal and most importantly a good 14+ volt altetnator. It really doesnt get enough juice from a 12v battery. Expect heat like most amps with this power. Got this and the 900.4 and things really rock.

great radio that has all the adjustments that you will need to tune your system with along with 5 volt out puts for your amplifiers, and a 16 band graphic eq this radio is one of the best. but what is even better is sonic electronic they really stand behind their products. One of my 80 prs radios started acting up around 6 months after the purchase sonic i gave sonic a call and they told me to send it back for warranty service, and i did about a week later and a half latter ups came to the door with a new 80 prs. i cant began to talk about how great this place is by standing by their customers. this is one of the reasons why i will always shop sonic.

Install was a breeze, the sound quality of this HU is phenomenal! That being said all I have done with it so far is install it to the stock 1997 6.5's in my Jeep. I have done quite a few installs with varied HU's and the DEH-80PRS has made it's case from the moment I turned it on. Anyone who is familiar with navigating through Head Unit menu's will not have much of a problem, if any, navigating this unit's menu's. It was intuitive without even looking at the manual (which I recommend googling and printing out since this manual comes on a cd). I am not at all disappointed. Compared to my old Pioneer head unit that it replaced, my subs are cleaner and more punchy due to the 5v preouts. My highs are also cleaner and less fatiguing. The whole system blends together way better, and I have not even began to tap into the 3 way adjustability feature. I was expecting to pay 350 dollars for this unit from a competitor but then found it at sonic for 250. It would have been well worth the 350, but to get it a hundred bucks cheaper makes it that much sweeter.

Great Amp

I had 2 PPI amps back in the late 90's and early 2000, they were one of the best back then and still are. I put the 900.5 in my Avalanche with 4 Kicker 6.5 speakers and two kicker 43c104 10's and it handles it great. It's been in for 2 weeks now pounding it out, the front and rear gains are just cracked and the sub out put is a little past half way so it has plenty of clean power. If your looking at this amp just get it you'll like it.

Wonderful Head Unit If You're Serious About Sound

I was on the fence about getting this or a similarly priced Pioneer DVD unit. I chose this because it packed more features for sound adjustments and overall had more power than the DVD unit did. Overall, its worth every penny. I primarily play my iPhone & CDs with it. The options available to adjust sound, volume, and frequency seems endless, regardless if you fine tune manually or letting the receiver do it automatically. Lots of color options to match your dash trim as well as screen background & MP3 data to suit your tastes.

My lone complaint about the unit is its difficult to navigate through the menus at first. All those extra features are buried among several menus and there aren't many buttons to help navigate through all that (big reason why I typically prefer a DVD monitor when upgrading). You'll definitely want to keep a PDF copy of the owners manual handy for the first few months until you get used to everything.

Overall, its a must buy for those who needs a unit to make precise adjustments to their sound stage. It is difficult to find a better unit for this price range.

The only thing I would like to see that it doesn't have is the option for an 18 db slope for the front and rear channels, but it's not a big deal. The sub channel has the option of an 18 db slope.
