Perfect!

I bought a pair of these for listening to my TV while riding my exercise bike. I have had Sennheisers previously, and these are MUCH better! No static, perfect reception from several feet away, comfortable and good sound quality. I am about to buy a second pair for my 91 year old mother-in-law who is in an assisted living home, so she can watch her TV LOUDLY and not disturb anyone. They are easy to use and to recharge.

Phenominal sound

My father in law wears hearing aids, and has trouble hearing the TV with them. We had an old pair of tv ears, that he used to use which were ok, but he broke them. While searching on the internet for replacement part I found the Sony MDR-IF245RK headphones. The price was equivalent to the replacement parts and I am a big Sony fan, so i purchased a pair for him. Let me tell you these head phones are amazing. they are extremely comfortable and easy to use. Which is important because my father in law is 80 and needs things kept simple. The sound quality is very good and he has absolutely no issues hearing the TV with them on. We bought a pair or his bedroom TV, and just purchased another pair for down stairs. I'm thinking of buying a pair for my bedroom TV as well.. Great product , great price.

Super Headphones

This product has changed my life! I can now listen to TV and tune out all the background noises.
It really does a great job and I would recommend it to anyone!
Very inexpensive, also.

Sony Wireless Headphones

purchased these for my Mom in a nursing home, after buying her a new flat screen tv. Once all was hooked up, worked great, but...I thought, once she turned the set off, the sound of the tv would come back on...not.......had to remove the plug on the back of the tv. to get sound again. TV may not be set up for this, but being a brand new set, I thought it would be. Still got headphones, and hope they will work on my tv.

Works Well for Me

Some months ago, I experienced a sudden reduction in hearing. If I turned the volume on the TV up loud enough for me to hear, the lower frequencies tended to boom or reverberate in my head which was extremely annoying and the TV would be much too loud for my wife.

Initially I purchased an earlier model of the Sony IR headphones but didn't like them because they didn't want to stay on my head and the cushion design was flawed which made it virtually impossible to keep them in place.

Later, I saw this MDR-245RK model and the headphones looked much better in that the head band was stronger and the cushions seated nicely in a groove around the earpiece so I decided to give it a try.

So far, I've been very happy with them. No problem with distance out as far as 20 feet. I also discovered that this model worked well with the older transmitter so I have one transmitter with our large screen TV and the other connected to a 32-inch TV in my "man hole". Now all I do is take the headphone from one room to the other.

I mentioned the boom effect when the TV was turned up loud enough for me. These headphones have a somewhat restricted frequency response that takes out any boom effect and makes sound much more intelligible for me. For this reason (and feature), these are not full fidelity headphones. They're perfect for me and my hearing problem but if you're wanting high fidelity just for quiet listening in bed, these may not be for you.

These phones will operate on two AAA batteries or a supplied rechargeable battery. I've put my headphones on the charging unit for overnight charging, then used them for frequently as much as four days at about 4 to 5 hours per day before recharging. I've yet to have them run out of battery power while using them.

Otherwise, they are IR headphones with the advantages or disadvantages (depending on what's important to you) of a typical IR system. For me and my needs, I like them.

Great for a hard of hearing husband!!!

I purchased this set of headphones for my husband. He is hard of hearing and has to have the volume on the TV real loud. It drives me crazy. Now he uses his headphone and adjusts the volume to the level that he needs and I can watch TV with him with the TV at a normal volume level. If I am not watching with him, he will mute the TV & only listen through the headphones. GREAT for us!!! Wish we had gotten this years ago.

Very Satisfied!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. It has solved the problem of watching TV after my wife has gone to bed without disturbing her. My one complaint with the design is that the little wheel to control the volume should be larger.
I do regret not ordering the RF model rather than the IF model which requires being in line of sight with the transmitter. It's my understanding that with the RF model you can move from room to room and still pick up the sound.

Wireless & Useless!!!

This is a useless product! With the transmitter 2' from the headset, the sound quality is poor and if I turn my head the sound cuts in and out. I ordered two of these and returned both of them. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone!

Headphones are ehh..

The headphones work, but only at short distances with nothing obscuring the signal line. They're a good cheap answer, but if you are looking for quality, go with a bluetooth version.
