Works Great with Bluetooth Streaming
I use this to connect to my phone via bluetooth. It auto connects when powered up. All I have to do is press the play button (6) and it works fine. Would be nice if it could auto start play but I have not seen an option to do this. Sound quality is very good. Installation was easy with the installation kit that came with it. A little bit of soldering and heat shrinking and I was done in less then an hour. Visibility of the screen in direct sunlight is not possible. But since Android does not send meta data to the radio to show song title and artist this is not a problem. Overall I am glad I purchased this product and have no regrets.

Love the bluetooth
The Pros: The bluetooth works great, phone and streaming, the music quality and sound is very good.
The Cons: The controls for bass and treble are difficult, unable to change the color of the display and too bright around the volume knob.

Awesome features on this deck
I have this head unit installed in my mazda miata. I like this deck because I have an Android phone which can plug directly into the stereos face and mount as a usb hard drive for mp3s (and trickle charges the phone). Also the bluetooth audio from the phone sends the google maps voice guided navigation out the speakers, it also pumps pandora or other streaming audio as well. This deck controls playback on bluetooth audio as well so you can skip tracks and folders.
It is a great head unit.

great receiver
This is the greatest car receiver I have owned. My Ipod and Treo phone work flawlessly I could not be happier with receiver. Hands free phone operation. The sound of receiver is great, I would recommend this to any one who likes great technology.

Not very user-friendly for an occasional user
I use this car stereo only rarely, because it is in a car I only use as a backup to another car I use regularly. The first, and biggest problem is that the display is almost impossible to see effectively during daylight hours. And I agree with an earlier reviewer (when I was about to buy) that the white illuminated ring around the main control knob is too bright at night, and distracting. It does not dim with the rest of the display when used at night and the and the car's headlights are on. The second problem is that, since I only use it rarely, I have to go through a learning curve every time just to figure out how it works. If I used it regularly, I might be able to get accustomed to how it works and feel quite comfortable with it. But the navigation through the various menus is not inherently intuitive, in my opinion, and it is trial and error every time I use it. Things like tone control and adjusting 4-speaker balance requires too much menu navigation to make them easy to do. I like being able to connect via bluetooth for listening to recordiings on my smart phone and iPod, in addition to using as a bluetooth handsfree phone. Don't have to mess with plugging in wires every time.

Good features, bad layout
I wasn't thrilled with the looks of this stereo, but it had the features I wanted at a good price, so I went for it. Bluetooth is nice (particularly for phone calls, use it with my EVO 4G), but for music I use the USB most. I just fill up a thumb drive with tracks and off I go. I've even had a portable 80 GB hard drive hooked up to it. Haven't used the actual CD player in the 6 months I've owned it!
The button locations, however, are just *not* intuitive, nor conducive to operating while driving. The major functions I use all the time are skipping back and forth between tracks. While it might make some sense that up is next and down is back, left/right placement would be more logical.
Not to mention they are precariously close to a number of other buttons - I find I accidentally hit the "Source" button quite often, which then has to be pressed repeatedly to get back to the function I was using.
The other button I use a lot is Pause... why it shares double duty with the "6" button is beyond me. I have to consciously look for it every time.
I don't find the screen to be that hard to read as other reviewers have stated. My only complaint is that the included "visualizations" (an animated spectrum analyzer, VU meter, etc) that come with it don't seem that accurately timed to the music that is playing.
I can't say I would strongly recommend this stereo; the features are nice but the layout takes some getting used to.

Great Head Unit From Sony
Pros: Bluetooth, Front Aux and USB, 6 channel, Best Buy for the Price and Features offered with this unit.
Cons: Remote Control is Huge, Light around volume knob doesn't dim, USB will not work with the new Sony MP3 players, Limited USB support.
I had not owned a Sony head unit in several years, this unit had all the features I was looking for, so far I am not disappointed.

Great Value!
Very happy with my purchase. As other reviewers have noted, it is a bit difficult to read the display in sunlight. Also, the white ring of light around the knob is very bright and annoying in the dark, but you get used to it. The functionality of the unit is exceptional. The Bluetooth is very convenient and works very well using the external microphone. The internal microphone didn't work for crap - you definitely need to use the external mic. I ran mine up to the visor and used the handy visor clip that comes with the unit. I use 2 preamp outputs for the front, and the internal amp for the rear speakers. One annoying SW issue is that when I plug the USB connector to my iPhone it immediately starts playing music. This is not normally what I want, since I am just plugging it in to charge. I also noticed that the charging via USB is VERY slow. Barely keeps up. So, my normal operating mode now is to use a charger plugged into my cigarette lighter, and just play the audio via bluetooth, and use the controls on the Iphone itself. Plugging via USB for charging and using the Iphone controls built into the unit makes no sense to me. For ~$200 this works amazingly well!

Great all around value
The most feature IMO is the A2DP BT audio transfer capability, since if you own a smart phone then HD radio, audio files, podcasts etc all can be played via this unit, I have not used this feature though. :) The blue looks great, the face is detachable, the sound quality is excellent, 3.5mm, USB, pre outs for expanding the system, its a do it all.
Overall I really like this unit, and recommend it, especially for people with A2DP BT compatible phones.

1st Sony and it is Great
I have owned Eclipse, Pioneer, and JVC head units and I believe the Sony ranks as one of my favorites. The Bluetooth phone and audio capability is slick and easy to use although the external mic picks up road noise. All the controls of other head unit brands are in this although the layout is a little different I still believe the controls are intuitive. I have not added amps to my system yet but the Sony's internal amp pushes the components (JBL GTO6808C ) in my doors well.

Good Value
This unit is very user friendly compared to others and comes with a lot of options for the price. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for an aftermarket stereo with BT, USB, and AUX 3.5mm.
The downside is that it sometimes swaps from the radio to the USB when I make a sharp turn. But it doesn't happen too often. This was suppose to come with 3 color display options, red, green and blue. The only one I see available is blue. It also has the auto-dim option but does not work.

Love my car stereo!
I bought this unit as a replacement for my factory stereo. The features I was interested in were primarily USB connection for my iPod and Bluetooth connection for hand-free phone calling on my cell phone. Both work extremely well, and I love that when a call comes in, it sends a pause command to my iPod and then resumes at the end of the call. The unit has a CD player, although I've only used it once since I don't listen to music from CDs much anymore. The settings can be a little tricky to figure out so be sure to keep your manual handy, especially during the set-up phase. For example, by default, the unit takes control over the iPod, and I prefer having control from the iPod. I couldn't figure out how to do this just from looking through the settings, I had to get instructions from the manual. But once set up, everything works great.

one of the best units on the market
This unit is amazing I would have never got rid of it but I decided to go double din. It has a full band eq that optimizes the music.

Great Sony product
I decided on the Sony MEX-BT5700U after reading some reviews. I installed it in my Ford F250 and it was an easy install with the aftermarket Metra kit. I use it with my iPhone 4 for phone and for iPod music playback. Everything works seamlessly, I am really impressed with the quality of the Blutooth phone audio using the external mic. The FM and AM reception is pretty decent. There is a bit of a learning curve involved in operating the unit but all of the features one usually needs while driving are easily accessible, such as volume, source select, etc. The Blutooth phone integration is the best I have seen in a while, initiating calls or answering calls is a breeze. I found the voice dialing function does not work that great. It appears the phone does not always interpret the voice audio coming from the Sony unit correctly. I tried different mic settings but it did not improve. The only other shortcoming is the ultra-high brightness of the white LED's around the volume/select knob. It is a significant distraction at night. The auto dimmer control function only adjusts the brightness of the matrix display but not the white volume/select knob or the blue button LED's. Looks like this was an oversight on the part of Sony engineers. In any case i fixed mine by removing the 4 white LED's around the volume/select knob. I left the blue button LED's alone and it's much better now.
Overall a great product I would recommend.

It's OK
First tim owning a Bluetooth radio unit. Awesome addtion. The fact that I can play Pandora from my phone to the car audio wirelessly is great! However this unit is pretty complicated to figure out how to set up the equalization and channels. Took me a few weeks just to get use to the basic features. Also its a pain in the rear that in order to switch from CD to radio, or aux you have to scroll through 5 choices. No single buttons to get to where you want.
Sound quality and power ratio is great.
