Exactly what I wanted

I wanted a high functioning unit with a high preamp out with Bluetooth, ipod controls, HD Radio. This unit works very well and sounds great. Replaced the original unit in my 2002 Lexus LS430 with this and the Metra dash, hookup and antenna kit and it is perfect!

Excellent Product

This radio was a perfect addition to my expedition. The only 2 things that held me back with frustration was the fact that you cannot adjust bass mid treble like other radios, you have to adjust sound with an EQ as in 10 bands and overall it took a minute to learn most of the functions but I got over it and learns how. I would definitely recommend this unit.

Top Shelf Head Unit, this stereo is loaded and has almost everything i need for my system, active capability would have been nice but the HD Radio and Time Alignment more than make up for it .
This is Sony's Premium series flagship head unit with all the bells and whistles but two of the coolest features are the NFC aka near field control and the Mirror Link which integrates the smartphone or tablet with the head unit.
The NFC allows you to just touch the smartphone to the head unit and the Bluetooth is turned on automatically, no more going to settings and turning on Bluetooth, just tap the phone to the receiver.
The mirror link transforms your smartphone or tablet into a larger secondary display for the head unit and lists all the apps and stored music in one list, pretty cool..
Highly recommend this stereo and for a high end system like a 2 or 3-way active setup with multiple amps all you need is an active crossover and you're all set, the built-in Time Alignment negates the use of a DSP and really simplifies system design.

Excellent car stereo

I installed the Sony MEX-GS820BT two weeks ago with a fresh set of speakers in my Dodge Caravan. The music is very clear and with all the settings makes the stereo easy to use.The Sony MEX-GS820BT has a power amp built in, that's what I really like, it gets plenty loud in my Caravan.I also like the remote, it works great. The Sony MEX-GS820BT is better than I expected, excellent price with Sony quality.I am very happy with my Sony MEX-GS820BT .

Best headunit U can buy!.. But with a major Con!

I already had a nice Kenwood head unit before buying this Sony, but wanted all the bells and whistles of bluetooth talking, 2 usbs, et, et. This delivers plus superior sound! What is horrible is what I was counting on using all the time, and still try to use, the horrible android app! This is a monster of an app, in an app, in a plugin. So, after U figure all this out, the app will crash and then(learn how to hold the power button for more than 2 seconds to re-synch it with your phone, if not u will wreck ur car trying to get it back up! haha) the "advanced audio" plugin U installed doesn't work, and all u have is control for volume on the app(instead of volume and sub level and 10 band eq controls). This whole app needs to be redesigned by Sony, but i don't know who to call to complain to. I am only hoping one day they get their schnap together and make it all one app that simply works, and, if it does crashes, all comes back up because now it is one app, vs a combo of 2 apps and a plugin. What a mess! I am a computer guy and have insane patience with these things and had to thoroughly clean my phone for this app to even think about staying in memory for any amount of time. Again, other than this app, the head unit itself is like liquid GOLD!(took my already nice system to insane levels with HD radio and just all around superb audio and control of audio for each and every song!.. until the app crashes, that is! haha)
