Works great with iPod Classic

This interface was easy to install and worked the first time I tried it. It does not seem to allow you to switch between artists or playlists, but it does let you go forward and back within a set of songs and fast forward / back within a song. Another drawback is that you are in a Sony interface (not iPod) so it's harder to read song and artist names on the iPod display. But hey, for the price I am satisfied.

Great Buy

Now upgraded from the XA-110ip connector and like it much better. They have fixed most of the major bugs that were in the 110. Now has a "resume" option which will play in the same order that your Ipod would play if you had not plugged that adapter in. I own a second gen. ipod touch and unfortunately it doesn't charge it but plays well. No static, just clear sound.
Would strongly recommend over the XA-110ip.

XA-120lP review

As far as I know this unit is the best one out there for the Sony MEX-BT5100. So far I have not had any problems with it. It does what it was designed to do.

Very good deal!

I own one of those and I'm pretty happy with it. The only problem is that every time I connect the same ipod, have to re-save all my settings.

Great product

This product does exactly what it's supposed to. Charges your iPod while providing great sound quality. The only disadvantage I see is that you are not able to control or use the iPod's interface while this adapter is plugged in. You must go direcyly through your head unit.

Works ok.

I use this with a Sony CDX-GT520 and it works good and charges my iPod. What I don't like is that it is very bulky and I had a hard time finding a place to put it, and it has a lot of cables. But it has good features so it is worth it, and once it is hooked up and the unit is hidden away it doesn't matter. I have 3 of them, one in my car, my truck and my sister's car.

love my ipod

This was a wonderful buy. My iPod sounds wonderful. It was easy to hook up. The only thing I decided I Dont like about it is that it doesn't charge my ipod. I tend to forget to unhook my ipod and bring it in to charge and find myself disappointed when the battery is dead. as a whole, no complaints. great product!

NOTE BY ADMIN: As our website indicates, the unit is not going to charge the iPhone 3G, iPod nano 4th generation and the iPod touch 2nd generation without the Scosche PassPORT adapter. Here is the link:

good product

It's very simple to hook up and i like it but i got it because it was the newer product but it doesn't support my Ipod nano. i cant remember the generation but i've had my ipod since last christmas so its not that new and it says its unsupported for charging. thats okay though it still plays and functions right.

Not a bad deal

The Ipod interface was alright except it not able to charge the Ipod hence every couplpe of days you have to take it into the house and connect to the Pc to charge it -sucks if you're planning to go on a long trip.

Only as powerful as Sony headunits allow it to be...

One of the major things that holds this unit back is the fact that most sony headunits only have one line of display, therefore meaning this device was designed with that in mind. Even my MEX-BT5100, with three lines of display, will only output one line from this device as that is how much every other Sony headunit can handle.

The biggest drawback is the fact that it locks out your iPod from manual control; you HAVE to control it from the headunit. I had this thing plugged in for about 10 minutes before removing it. Sound quality comming from it was probably better than AUX, but the control hassel isn't worth it.

Does its job

This product does its job by connecting your ipod to the HU. The quality is much better than using the axilliary cable but the controls to control your ipod from the HU are very clumsy, but thats the HU's problem and not the cable. Overall well worth the money

Great for the money!!!

Easy to plug in and hook. Worked right away with my 5th gen iPod. Charging with my wife's 4th gen Nano was not supported.
