Cool stuff
This unit works great. teh spacing was a bit tight in the Ford Econoline, but with a few edge trimmings, it safely secured itself in the posistion and works great. Hooked it up to a seperate video screen and the picture is awesome. great bang for the buck

Good solid radio/tuner
The Sony XAV-60 is a solid performer with many features available. The built in tuner has a great sound and the iPod control with adapter is excellent. Would recommend this to anyone whom cannot afford it's big brother or does not need the extra features.

Pretty Slick!
Well the unit is solid. The screen resolution is amazing, never seen anything like it! Even though it doesn't have as many features as other headunits, It still does a good job. The sound clarity is pretty good. I like the sound features is comes with it. You can't get bluetooth or GPS with this, but I wouldn't be using it anyway. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot on a touchscreen headunit. I love playing DVDs in the car now, because it looks amazing. The only con about this, is how slow it can be. But honestly, its a common problem with many headunits, so it isn't a big deal. Best thing about it is the sound clarity and screen resolution!

Not bad for a Sony
I was a little skeptical about this unit as Sony is not particularly great with head units. I found out that its not bad. The screen is very nice to look at but a little off when it comes to the touchscreen. I had to press a little harder then expected. The swipe controls is a nice thought. It allows the skipping of songs by swiping your finger across the screen rather then pushing the button. Being able to bypass the video lock (by ground the parking break wire) without a switch is a bonus. The sound is very good as well as the level of control, crossovers and others. There is also a feature that enables the rear speakers to be used as subwoofers. The unit sends only low Hz to the rear so its like a subwoofer. This is great if you have a small car with no woofer and want that extra low as long as you have decent speakers in the rear. As for the iPod controls, i have to agree that they are cumbersome. It took a good 10 secs to load each page and i have a lot of music on my ipod so finding the artist i wanted took some time. However there is a scroll bar you can use that makes it a little faster. All in all, the unit seems pretty decent.

Nice!!!
Lots of features available. I play my iPhone thru this every day. Nice to be ableto charge and play at the same time. You have to program the player to be controlled by the iPod or iPhone or else it takes a while to change between songs. No big deal to me. Just an observation.

very satisfied with this radio best thing i ever owned and like the fact that you don't need a switch to get the video to work like on most new radios and the ipod isn't that slow like everybody is saying so all in all i am satisfied with the radio

Not Bad
For what I was looking for this was perfect. I got mine for around $300 compared to everything else starting at $400. The sound to me is amazing..but I have a Rockford 501x amp for my Infinity Kappa highs and a Diamond D9 800.2 amp pushing my two MA audio 12's. I can tell a BIG difference between this head unit for my high's and low's compared to a older single din JVC head unit I was using. My high's are really crystal clear with this unit and the bass is insane with the Xplod eq on.
I do have to say, like everyone else, that the IPOD controls are slow. While I can navigate through it while driving, it gets agrivating. Your not going to get to a song quickly. But to be fair most head unit controls for IPOD are slow and there are only a handful of units that have good reviews for being quick.
Make sure you read the specifics if your going to use an IPOD. I read reviews about this unit being slow to read the IPOD but I didnt worry about it thanks to the "Passenger Control" which allows you to control the IPOD directly, with the info still being listed on the player. Well f-me! The "passenger control" is not compatiable with any of the Ipod Videos (it works with the new touch and iphone video). So instead of being able to use my 60gb ipod video (video with this unit is also not compatiable) I had to go onto ebay and get a 4th generation 60gb Ipod classic photo just so I can use the passenger control.
Overall, even including buying the new IPOD, this Double Din DVD player still saved me money, and for what I was looking, was perfect.

Very good unit. Not much negative.
First off... Sonic Electronix is a awesome company! With very good customer service. Shipping without any problems (shipped to Canada) and very fast! (No they didn't pay me for this comment!)
Now for the unit...
Solid unit, does everything it says. Crazy crazy a** picture! I've seen this unit side by side the JVC KW-AVX830, and it out classed it.
Decent sound. Don't forget this is an entry level unit. Doesn't have all the super hi-tech fancy stuff (7 bands EQ, bluetooth, GPS, etc.), but I didn't need all that stuff. Works great with latest iPhone 3Gs, audio and video (by the way, you need the special Sony cable to get video).
The ONLY thing negative I could say about this unit is that it's slow when you try to navigate through your iPhone content. I don't know if it's because I have a lot of tracks and video or if it's because of the USB connection.
FYI: Durabilty can't be reviewed by me, cause I just got the unit for about a week, when this review was written.

Love it
I bought this deck about 4 months ago and wow! This deck does it all. I love the sound quality it puts out, yet those bass notes could hit a little harder and the treble could be a little more crisp. Also the iPod controlling is SUPER sluggish. But I love the extended USB input, I have it hidden in my middle console and it keeps my iPod charged and stored away from the sun. My girlfriend loves watching DVDs on vacation road trips, and I also rigged me an antenna/cable input, and have a detachable mount for a 37" LCD Vizio in my trunk with the extra Y video cable into it for tailgating. I'd say this baby has got what it takes, and even though i might add a sound processor to it. It needs nothing else! Great price also.

Great System
This has great sound and was easy to get used to the controls. The DVD playback quality is good if playing wide format DVDs, otherwise it squats the picture. I would prefer to have a USB port at the front of the system rather than a cable. The only problem I had was the Scosche TA07SR wiring harness I purchased along with the Sony XAV-60 would not work with my JBL system so I had to re-wire my sound system. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Disappointed...
I installed this unit two days ago in my 2009 Ralliart.
The iPod controls are very slow, such that you have to be parked to change artists/albums
Overall sound quality is poor, and needs more power.
The factory Mitsubishi head unit was more powerful, and had better clarity.
Most of the fancy settings [listening position, centre channel, etc.] need to be turned off, just to get a marginally good sq.
DVD sounds fantastic

Wow at a great price
This is an awesome unit. It was everything i expected and more. The only thing i would say is a con would be the speed of it. Would highly recommend this to anyone!
