AWESOME PRODUCT!!

To begin.. Fast Processing & Shipping!!! about the product couldn't love it more!! fully detachable faceplate is huge plus for anti-theft. Performance is as expected.. the interface has very little to no lag in-between switching menus & external sources such as iPods and Bluetooth connection. sound quality made me :D
- only con is that it has (one) mono-subwoofer output

Worth Its Weight!

This Headunit is definitely for a Specific Market/Target . For LESS you can get the basic features the XAV-602BT has, but you will Not get the features that matter to a person wanting an 'above average sound & headunit'. The 5v Preouts alone is worth the investment, but with that you get a very responsive interface, very low latency, and a desirably Hefty detachable faceplate (w/ a pouch) . The screen itself is above average but no mind-blowing, the mapping to get to certain features is user-friendly, the USB in the rear is long enough to run to just about any part of the dash, the bluetooth (w/ android) connects without a hitch.

The MIRRORLINK, is a precarious feature at this time, so make sure to call SONY before picking this headunit up, IF this is the main feature you are looking for. My rating for it would be "MEH".

This stereo is very good, not excellent because the following:

- Mirror link doesn't work with most of the smartphones, only works with 2 models, not included iPhone or galaxy's.
- my 160 gb Ipod classic works but last forever to load the data base, sometimes stop working and doesn't display tracks info, music keeps playing and changing tracks but you don't know what's playing.
- My 16 and 32 gb iPods works fine and fast respond.
- it has 2 USB plugs but not even connecting both of them detect an external hard drive, only USB memories.

The pros are:
- very good quality materials
- detachable face
- very easy and intuitive menu
- plays Divx files.
- touchscreen works great, very sensitive like iPods or samsung screens.
- equalizer with tons of great features

I expect Sony release soon the update for S4.

Once you can see your phone screen on your stereo it will be amazing.

I was digging for the best price for this (amazon, eBay, best buy, and many others all over the web) and definitely sonic electronic was the best, great customer service, grear shipping, great everything.

i upgraded from the xav-63 after it started giving me probs and i was extremely impressed with this unit . it has too many features to list but the overall sound i get out of my system is amazing . i am reall y happy the guys at sonic talked me into getting this .

and i did make an offer ( not gonna say on here cuz i promised but it was a steal !! do your best when negotiating , they will work with you)

i really like how it looks when its running on random screen saver mode and the led is changing colors at night . with so many diff ways to listen to music you cant go wrong .

only down side is the Pandora app will sometimes disconnect and its hard for me to get it working again . it says not compatible with bluetooth or restart the app . side note , i use bluetooth mode and ALL my apps from Pandora to Slacker work fine .

one major issue is people dont seem to have the right phone for the Mirror App to work . well a fix is up at ....

this is for Android users only , sorry Apple guys .

i give it a 4 start for ease of use only because with the install kit for most dash's it is almost impossible to get the face plate off because it is wedged in so far , not Sonys issue , its Scosche .

PROs: Sounds great especially with a 4 channel mini amp.
Easy and touch response is fast
Firmware wa up to date when it arrived.. Oddly its past what is posted on Sony's website as most recent update.

Cons: requires a wire to use Pandora with an Apple device. IN fact no streaming at all but phone works over BT.
It has a very strict list of Android devices that will stream or phone over BT. if your not on the list, don't bother.
It has only one sub out. My Sub amp has 2 in so I had to buy a combiner/splitter to connect both channels to my amp. MONO of course.
Summary: Had I read the complete manual and understood what they leave out I wouldn't have bought this. It's not too bad if your going on a trip and have a few minutes to set up and get wired every time you get in the car. shorts jaunts to the grocery store just isn;t worth the hastle.

Does not have parametric EQ

I originally purchased the 68bt because the description said it had a 7 band parametric EQ which is the reason I was buying a Sony radio. The 68bt only had a 3 band standard EQ so I returned it for full credit.

I then purchased the 602bt because it supposedly had a 7 band parametric EQ as the description says. This model does have a 7 band EQ but it is not parametric. You cannot adjust the Q or vary the frequencies.

I am keeping this model since Sony apparently does make a double din with a 7 band parametric EQ any longer. I am very disappointed at Sony's new line since they seem to have far less features than the older models.

I previously had the 210 digital radio which has superior features that this one does not.

This unit does not have the mentioned EQ, it does not have a full featured sub volume control, it is only a simple + or - 6db with no way to turn the sub off unless you put the unit in no source mode, which takes about 30 minutes to figure out since it is not mentioned in the owners manual.

The x-over does not allow you to adjust the Q of the slope like the other models. You get to choose your frequencies and that is it.

There are no updated apps that let you use any of the cell phone features. Pandora radio does work but you cannot use any Pandora features through the head unit, only skip to the next song, pause and play.

I don't really have any pros for this radio since it has nearly none of the features I was expecting when I purchased it.

Great for the price

I needed a new head unit because the stock head unit lacked on power output and Bluetooth.
This head unit's built-in amplifier provides plenty of power and the Bluetooth works as expected. I tried one DVD and the picture quality is good. One annoyance is the volume knob changes sources by tapping it. Hit a bump on the road while adjusting the volume and end up changing the source.

Sony XAV 601bt rocks!!!

This unit is top notch! Time Alignment, 7-Band Eq, beautiful sound & at an excellent price! The detachable face allows me to safely secure from the sun & 2-USB connects allows me to dedicate one to my sony walkman in glove box, while using the other for MirrorLink.

Good Stereo

Some minor issues, no sound sometimes on satellite XM after starting car engine. Have to switch to FM radio and then back to XM. Next, do not remember (skip back one station) last station when starting car engine. Looks like software issues.

Sony XAV 601bt...... Disappointment

I got this to use with my Samsung Note2...I had to spend 2 hr's with tech support to update it to use with my phone...The mirror link feature is garbage and its why I bought this unit...and the aux outputs Dont work with my phone either...Come on Sony serious...this is a very popular phone ...

Best Head Unit Ever @ A Great Price

This Sony Head Unit is easy to install, program & sounds excellent. The The Bluetooth connection to my Samsung Note II & anyone using an iPhone.
Im driving a KX 650 Kicker Amp, 4 Kicker RS6.5 door speakers w crossovers with 500 Watt Soundesign pushing a 12" Kicker Sub Woofer.

Its the most balanced & warm sounding system Ive installed.

I recommend this Sony Head Unit.

Sony XAV 601bt rocks!!!

I upgraded from the XAV 62bt & love the XAV 601bt even more. The quality im getting is unparalleled at the cost. Bluetooth, Zone to Zone, 2-USB to name a few. And the sound? OMG!!!!! It's a must have, people!

A lot of stereo for the money

I installed this unit yesterday and it kicks butt! Great sound quality, common sense navigation features, the bluetooth unit for pandora works great as does the phone unit, I have used the ford sync in other vehicles and you would not be able to tell the difference blindfolded. The rear view camera works great and I can't wait to get the headrest diplay for my son, so he can play games or watch movies he will love it. I love this unit and the great people at Sonic Electronix helped me choose this one, thanks for the help guys! At last the common person can pimp their own ride without breaking the bank!

Excelent Sound

This Sony AV center completes my necessary tastes on all of my media on the go, like two usb connections but it dosent have a front aid which i am dissatisfied but not to worry, it has two auxiliaries on the back to connect an aux plug. Anyways everything is so cool!

Sounds Great! Apps need some work.

First and most importantly, this head unit puts out really great sound. I've never put together a system that sounded quite as good as this one. Even Pandora on low quality sounds good. However, the screen changes are a bit slow, scrolling is a nightmare (especially inside Pandora), and the touchscreen can be slow or unresponsive. Another problem is that it is incapable of multi-tasking. For example with the mirror link you can pull up the GPS navagation from your Android or iPhone, but that is it, you can't listen to the radio, a CD, or any other source while the mirror link is showing the map. Switching back and forth is slow and requires quite a bit of touchscreen button pushing (not good while driving). I wouldn't buy this again for the mirror link (unless a software update fixes the multi-tasking problem). I would buy this again because it sounds so good.

sony dbl. din xav-602bt

this deck is the worst buy i have ever purchased .i have tape decks that have out lasted this deck .it dosent read cds (new ,used and even burned )and i have only had this deck a year.it is now starting to read cds as if they are scratch .even skips on brand new cds. dont wasted your money on this .
