Pls. save money and get something else.

I am a big fan of Sony but let's just say that I got so disappointed at this particular Sony product that I yanked them out of my 2011 Infiniti FX and replaced them with JBL power series speakers. The difference is clear.

Garbage

Zero bass. The woofer just bottoms out and sounds terrible. These sound more like tweeters. Only works well if you have a HPF on them.

Not bad, holds up well

I bought these speakers for my car almost a year ago (probably 9 months) and I came back to buy a sub and amp so I figured I'd spend a little time writing a review on my speakers I bought.
I have a 96 nissan 240sx so I had few other options for speakers that would replace the stock speakers well. I have these on a sony xplod head unit 45x4 and they are pretty good.
They do NOT have low end bass though, which is why I finally came back to order a sub. The midrange is great and the highs are pretty sharp. At around 20 on my head unit the speakers no longer get very much louder, but they come close to becoming distorted so it works out quite well.
These are great factory replacements, but probably have less low end than my stock speakers. The mids really pack a punch though and the clarity is good so I would recommend them if you're looking to replace blown speakers for cheap.
They also hold up really well, I listen to my music LOUD so they are quite durable. Fits well in an s14.

Not bad for under speakers $40

The speakers looks good, build quality and sound are also good for the price. It's powered by a Sony deck putting out 15 watts. With this low wattage, it doesn't have a lot of bass but the highs and mids were fine. Not sure if how it would sound if powered by a 60 WATT amp. Anyway, I was looking for an inexpensive set of speakers to replace the worn out factory speakers. This product served that purpose well.

They're ok

Installed these for someone along with a Pioneer HU. Running off that HU they sound decent. Definitely an upgrade from stock. They have decent mid range and the highs aren't too bright. Im not sure how well they would run off of an external amp but they do take the power from the Pio HU with not much distortion at high volumes. Overall, the owner was happy.

Surprisingly good for an inexpensive speaker

The following review is for a previous version (XS-GT1625A).

I purchased 2 pair of these speakers to replace the paper whizzer cone factory speakers in my 1990 motorhome. They were a great improvement over the stock speakers, which I expected. What I didn't expect from such an inexpensive speaker, was just how good they sound. They are quite clear and produce a nice, open, soundstage - quite a shock considering the price I paid. Highs and midranges are good and clear, and even the bass is better than expected. I'm running these un-amped with a newer Jensen head unit. These speakers are perfect for what I'm using them for - Nice tunes while sightseeing the country. Installation was super easy with the multi-fit mounting holes. I couldn't be happier.

For perspective, I've installed aftermarket sound systems in all my vehicles for the past 35 years - some quite expensive, so to be impressed by $30 a pair speakers was quite a surprise for me. I wasn't expecting much, just wanted an "improvement". I got nice sound for little $$$!

I gave the "Durability rating" a 3, not because there was a problem, but because I've only owned them 2 weeks and couldn't leave this field blank.

An Impresive-sounding low cost speaker

The following review is for a previous version (XS-GT1625A).

I had two of these installed in my car, but returned them thinking I could find something better. I wish I hadn\'t. As I tried other speakers, I realized that these played with more high-end clarity and better low-end response then some speakers that cost twice as much. The had a nice, heavy feeling to them, and even the cloth surround felt better than most. I loved the flush height of the tweeter housing - it makes installation in tight places a snap. Give them a week or so of playing, and they will break in and have a nice full sound. I was running them off a 17 by 4 RMS Sony H/U. Not amped.

Nice, Full Sounding Speakers for Little Price Tag

The following review is for a previous version (XS-GT1625A).

These guys are running off my 17 by 4 watt RMS Head unit, and sound great. The highs and mids are quite clear, and after a week or so, the low end really began to become present. They won\'t rattle the door panels, but the sound is rich and dull. They also have a tweeter housing that\'s flush with the surround, so mounting them in certain OEM locations is really easy. They also have a nice heavy feeling to them, which makes them (at least to me) feel they are of a higher quality than the price would let on. Highly recommend them if you want to get a fairly sensitive budget speaker.

Pretty Good

The following review is for a previous version (XS-GT1626A).

I had different speakers which were factory Infinity Gold's but these honestly are alot better, clearer sound and more durable, I would recommend these for any one who wants good speakers
