I purchased these for a budget upgrade to my stock system. They were a perfect fit for my (uncommon) Volvo front door speakers. I have them hooked up to a Sony Xplod amp and they sound great. I've had them for a year now and they are still going strong

Not Bad

I recently purchased these to match up with an Autotek Mean Machine 4-channel amplifier. I wont lie, I have hated every Sony car audio products for as long as I can remember, but for some reason I wanted to try these out. When they arrived I was surprised by how nice they actually looked and the way they seemed to be put together. After hooking them up and listening to them I was completely impressed by the clear precise sound. I did notice however, like any set of aftermarket speakers you have to amp them to get quality sound. But in all, I have to say if you are on a budget and can not afford a set of components that costs 150+ go with these!

Installs easily, good sound with an amp. I would buy better speakers if I did not have an amp. Can't beat the price.

WOW!!!

These are excellent speakers. The build quality is exceptional and the sound quality is AMAZING! Keep in mind, these are budget speakers, but NOTHING about this system reminds you of how much they cost. Rated at 60W RMS, I haven't tried them on an amp just yet (Still breaking them in on my Sony headunit).

The adjustable tweeter level jumpers (0 or -3dB) inside the cool looking but slightly large crossover networks is wonderful at this price point. The tweeter mounting options are endless and all the hardware included makes installation a snap. Tweeter mounts look sleek, but I'm NOT a fan of the grill designs.

The bass output is a tad on the low side, but I'd rather that than distortion. The tweeters are accurate and not overly bright or harsh. The mids are clean, warm and clear. Wait a week and you will see what these speakers are made of. Don't expect them to scream like that at ridiculously high volumes; they are budget components. I am pleasantly surprised by these components. WELL DONE SONY!

P.S. : Only had them about 2 weeks, so I can't truly comment on Durability.

sound awesome!

These speakers were at a perfect price point at $50 for two components, that have a high peak power. They fit perfect in my 2003 Kia Optima. I was also able to get the tweeters installed where the older tweeter were. Made for a nice look after installation.

There is no need for $180 speakers when these sound just as good.

Great mids-highs

Great sound for the money. I expected better bass, but I am very pleased. They are running with a sub on my back deck. Mids and highs are perfect!

THIS SET OF SPEAKERS LOOK GOOG AND YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE BUT THE BAD THING IN MY CASE WAS THAT ONE OF THE TWEETERS ONLY LASTED FOR A WEEK, SO AT THE END I BOUGHT A USED SET OF INFINITY COMPONENTS AND I'VE BEEN USING THEM FOR 5 MONTHS AND NO PROBLEM SO FAR, MY ADVISE IS IF YOU CAN GO THE EXTRA STEP DO IT.......

Put these in my passat and for the price they sound really good, no problems with them, sound really clear, bass is good, and they are a lot better then the stock speakers..

This is the best pair of value-priced component speakers out there. They sound like I surely paid much more. If you are looking to replace your 6.5" factory speakers, this setup is great. Love the included crossovers.

its ok

Well, I have the matching sony XM-4S amp to power these. The amp gives off 50w RMS @4ohm, these speakers are rated for 60watt rms. So its just about right.

lets cut to the point, the highs sound good on these, not overly ear piercing and annoying, but just right, but the mids and lows are lacking.

Maybe its my enclosure, but I am not completely satisfied with them.

The product itself feels like a quality item from Sony. However, at this price I guess i don't have much to complain about, but just be aware when you get these.

Great Value

Compared to the stock speakers in my girl's car, it worked wonders! Along with her Sony CD Deck and Sony 10" Sub, her Honda sounds wayyy better. Thanks Sonic!

Great set

I bought these to replace the speakers in our 2002 4runner. The tweeters fit flawlessly in the triangle door panel, it even had the screw in the middle that mounted perfectly where the old tweeter was. The woofers were certainly a lot more difficult but that's not the fault of the speakers, Toyota makes replacing the speakers very difficult as you either need to do what I did and custom cut and fab the old brackets to make new mounts, or find mounts somewhere. Either way you do it, these sound way better than the stock paper crap speakers that came with the car. The crossover box is about the size of a deck of cards if that's any help. I am very impressed and think these are a great deal.

Good value, good sound

so at first these sounded terrible, but that was because I had 2 sets of speakers running in parallel off the stock head. They all sounded bad, and the bass was flat. Once I took the other speakers out, these really shined. The bass is nice, the tweeters are clearer than the ones I had. Set up is easy, though the stickers for the tweeters were ineffective and the bracket is too big to mount on the mirror part. You have 3 mounting option for the tweeters, which is nice. I'm very happy with this purchase. I'm even thinking about a 2nd pair for the rear.

excellent make

these speakers were a great buy. for the exact product at w******, they want double what i paid through sonicelectronix. the speakers have high clarity and compliment my hifonics subwoofer well. the tweeters that come with this product pick up the highs pretty well also. the only thing i am not big on, is the sony speaker covers. they just seemed too bulky to me. but that is personal preference. if i needed more speakers, sony is the way i would go.

Excellent Separates that are value priced.

I bought these somewhere else, but the quality is there in these units...
I was skeptical of Sony quality in mobile audio, but these speakers appear to sound a cut above their stuff in the past.
Just make sure you amp them with enough juice... don't waste time hooking them up directly to your head unit. You need a proper outboard unit. I'm not going to rate durability highly because I just installed them last week. If you can, try to run 16 gauge speaker wire directly to the crossover from your amp...

Sound Great

I have these almost 3 yrs powered with 2 channel 200 watts amp. Everyday used, sound great, nothing changed, no damage.

I am very pleased with the Sony speakers (Sony XS-GTX1621S) I purchased from Sonic Electronix. They were easy to install and sound great with the style of music I listen to.

sound great

I shopped all over locally and on line. Locally they were way over twice as much as Sonic Eletronix and they sound great. you can hear highs and lows, everything really clear. I have had them for about 6 months in my subburban and I like to crank it up. Great buy for the money and my budget.

Pretty good Sound

I ordered these speakers from sonic and i was a little skeptical but when i hooked them up they sounded really good, they have low distortion at high volume so it sounds crisp and clear the tweeters sound amazing and they don't overwhelm your ears. I love these sonys, i would recommend them to anyone looking for good sound for a cheap price.
