Best speakers ever

If you don't own a sub and you enjoy loud music with a lot of bass, these are the speakers you want. Even at the highest volumes, because of the 4 way design, the midrange to highs never distort. Only the lower end does depending on volume. I have four of these plugged into my Civic and people get blown away by the sound every time.

great front speakers

These are great sounding speakers for a front door application. I listen to rock mostly and while they are a little thin on bass, nothing a subwoofer wouldn't take care of. Great bang for the money you pay, I recommend these for anyone who wants an inexpensive speaker. I put these in my work truck and they fit with very few mods. Replaced factory speakers in a 1999 Dodge Durango. Just put in so I have no idea how long they will last -- time will tell.

Sony XS-GTX1642

I had a pair of these in my 97 jetta and they sounded pretty good nice clean sound.Would recommend these

fantastic sound and great value

I installed these speakers in the front doors of my son's Toyota 4-Runner and they are fantastic. They are driven by a JVC KW-R800BT stereo, also from Sonic. Installation of speakers was super easy - less than 2 hours total and I've never attempted it before.

Review the Sony XS-GTX1642

I purchased 2 pair of the Sony XS-GTX1642 speakers. These speakers are clear, loud and provides some serious bang from the speakers.

Good for the price

The speakers sound great, not much bass at all though so that's a downer. You can put the volume up all the way and they don't distort, but then again like I said they don't have good bass. Its a good buy though, I have an 04 Durango and these speakers were certainly better than the stock ones I had.

crisp and clean

i have 4 of these on an Alpine MRP-F250 4 Channel amp, and man are these clean and loud, I have no bass blockers, just the DB level at ZERO on the amp and these scream, go perfectly with my 2 Rockford T1 15's

Not my cup of tea.

I put these in my wife's car. I took them out and put some Polks in. They just aren't as clear as I was expecting them to be.

Good replacement speaker

Hi. I have a Jeep Wrangler and almost no bass in the front. While these are better than the factory speakers, they have a bass blocker on them, which is good, as the radio favors the front speakers that fire forward. These are very bright with a lot of mids. Very quality and good speaker for the money! If you need more bass, then you need a sub...as I found out the hard way! If you buy these, you won't be dissapointed.

4 way Sony Speakers

Great speakers, running them off a Sony cdx-gt350mp fidelity is extremely clear, I would recommend them as an upgrade to stock speakers. Only one downside noted in my setup, I cannot get enough bass out of the system, would recommend trying a setup with an amp, but I believe a small sub would do the trick and make up the difference nicely.

Great Speakers

I bought these speakers 6 months ago and am very please with my purchase. I blast rock music as loud as my stereo will allow and it sounds like a concert going down the road. Everything is clear and I haven't been able to bust these yet, which says a lot for them considering how many speakers I have busted before. The sound is very clear, they were really easy to install and look nice. Haven't found any cons to them only good things. I definitely recommend these to anyone. Also great site to buy from. My speakers got here really fast and were packaged really well so there was no worry about them getting damaged in transit.

Outperforms my Kappas

The sound quality is sublime. Awesome highs, mids and bass reproduction. I won a pair of infinity Kappas (6.5 3 ways) and they outperform them. I have to increase the gains going to my Infinitys and decrease the gain to the Sonys in order to get a balanced sound. I you keep in mind they are of almost identical power rating that is awesome. Also, these Sonys bang out the bass. All around a wonderful buy!

Max Durability

I have had these speakers for over two years now and they are the best speakers I have ever owned. They sound great and play louder than any other speaker out there. I have them hooked up to a Pioneer head unit. There's no need for an amp to power these speakers as long as your head unit produces enough power.

one of da best speakers for a price like this

i bought 4 of these things for my 1993 Honda Prelude and these things will make u lose ur hearing after the first month!!! 75 watt rms is a severe understatement for these things. they pack a huge punch. the tweeters are amazing; the bass is pretty good 2 but it could be better. u could run these things near their peak power constantly. they are extremely durable. I've had them for about a year and a half n abuse da crap outta them every day and they sound as good as when i first bought them. Definitely worth what u pay for them. the only thing louder than these speakers on my ride is the exhaust, n even then u can hardly hear it over the speakers

Good speakers for the money

I have a 2008 Tacoma with the JBL system and replaced the stock speakers in place. Considering the JBL filters that reduce the bass, these actually sounded quite good and balance out the sound with the addition of a subwoofer and tweeter replacement. They fit in the stock rear door brackets as well so no special adapters were needed. I recommend these speakers and for the price they were great.

loud speakers, good buy

these speakers cost twice as much here at other stores. aside from being great value and sony speakers, they sound very good, especially when powered by an amplifier.

dont bother

the highs are perfect but lacks the mid range bass which i was looking for. if you want some reasonable bass look somewhere else not with this sony

Awsome product

The sony speakers are amazing. Right when I had them installed you could hear the difference in sound quality! Very easy to install also.

Sony Speakers

Well... I never knew Sony as the car speaker building type. I loved their headphones. And now I love their speakers for the same reason.

Great quality per price paid. With a nice receiver unit (courtesy of Soniceletronix) the speakers sound wonderful. I paid close to nothing for them and received a premium quality sound in return. If you check the frequency response, the bandwidth is quite good, above similar priced and higher priced units.

Before I got these I was thinking about a Sub to complement the Infinity front system and these sony's, but as soon as I turned up the bass on these, you can definitely feel the bass power. your neighbors cant, but you can!

Good Performer

These speakers are really clear. I am powering them with my Hifonics ZXi 8010 (it puses 55 wats RMS to it) and the sound great. The highs are wonderful and the bass reproduction from it is good (even with my crossover set to 100 Hz). Bang for buck, I can't take anything away from these speakers for the 3 weeks I've owned/used them.

Disappointed in Sony this time

The specs on these speakers are impressive but the actual performance was something I did not expect. I was totally disappointed when I heard them. They sounded no better than the paper factory speakers that they replaced. My head unit is Sony. I should have spent a little more money and stayed in the Blaupunkt family as far as speakers. I would not recommend these speakers to anyone who appreciates quality sound.

Nice speakers

As with most Sony products, these were easy to install. The sound is exactly what I was looking for... big sound from a small speaker. I used these mainly as rear fill in conjunction with 2 Low-profile Sony 10" subs, and Alpine 3.25" components in the front with an Alpine center speaker in a classic Bronco off of a touchscreen 5.1 Alpine head unit

Sony XS-GTX1640

I purchase these speakers about 4 months ago. I would give them a C+ on sound. The price was an A+ . Two local car stereo dealers had them on sale in their business for 129.00 therefore I know I got a great price on them. The highs sounded really good but the bass is in the speakers is not good at all.

Got what I paid for

Got this products for months. The highs are crystal sharp and clear when comparing to Sony's new component speakers. But the bass is a little bit too weak Maybe this is the downside of 4-way speakers.
But for this price, i got what i paid for. This is a good upgrade from factory 20W speakers.
