Not that great

I would only recommend this product if you don't turn your volume up very loud. It's not stable at 2 ohms, like it says it is, and it doesn't put out near what it says it does. Bridged, It's all I can do to keep it from going to protect when it hits lows. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

Subwoofer

I use this amplifier to push a 600 watt subwoofer on a 30 Cruiser. The sound is full and rich, great unit.

Its got plenty of power, looks really clean, its got my 12" Kickers hitting REAL nice. And it doesn't cost hundreds either, overall real happy with my choice.

Nice amp if your pushing low power subs

I had this amp on 2 pioneer 12s that were rated at 250 rms a piece and I had the gain and bass boost all the way up when wired at 4 ohms and it would play all day, but when I bridged it down to 2 ohms i could have the bass boost all the way up and the gain just barely turned up, barely away from the lowest setting, and it would shut off at around 15/34 volume level. So this amp does not like voltage drop at all, but if your pushing low power level subs at 4 ohms then this is a good amp for the price. It has a good design too. And this amp is still working and I've had it for a year now and have ran it at its max for that time.

Great buy!

Works perfect with my 6.5 JL mid drivers and Kenwood 6x9s. I don't even have to max the output gains and the sound produced is great. Great buy for the price. This is my second SSL amp and I'm impressed with the consistency of this product. I would recommend this brand.

Soundstorm (SSL) EV2.1200

I have used this amp for 2 years now with Zero Fails whatsoever. I was not so sure about this amplifier when I purchased it a couple of years ago. The price was definitely within most folks budget for the watts it produces. Couldn't find much else cheaper with outstanding quality like this amplifier produces. This is a "poor man's amplifier" I was told when I bought it. And I refused to buy a major brand like: Ken Wood, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate Etc Etc.

Don't be fooled by the price as this Amplifier performs and Performs and PERFORMS some more. It gets a little hot when used for long periods, But it never has shut off on me from any heat issues. I would for sure suggest this amplifier to anyone on a budget or Not. There are more expensive amplifiers on the market and you get what you pay for. But with this amplifier I got Way MORE Then I Paid For.

No fancy High End Brand Name here to pay big $$$ for. You get what you pay for with out all the advertising bloat. This is by far the BEST Bass Amplifier I have owned for the Price it is sold for. I would suggest you spend the money and have a "Wave Box" built before you shell out the cash for a 1,000 to 2,000+ watt amp to get more bass. People do not realize how important the build of their "Bass Box Truly Is." If your Box is built to the "speaker specs," THEN you will get more Bass with lower wattage. Its not all about the wattage you are using. Do the research and save your money for other car add-ons down the road.

I went to a car show recently and I was parked next to guy pushing twice the 1,200 watts the amp here is rated for. And Yes I know the True RMS of the Evolution 1200 Amplifier which is Half the RMS Peak output. But I will say that it sounds so much better out of my custom built "Wave Box." Beating the guy next to me with his 2,000+ Watt "Name Brand Amplifier." He had a hard time believing how much deeper and clearer my bass was, compared to his bass out of his mass produced standard Chinese sub-woofer box. The Only thing that has failed or gone bad on me is the "Bass control Knob." I think it continues to fail because it is Made VERY Cheaply. I have had to re-order another knob at the rate of One replacement a year so far. I am on my third one in three years.Again Bass Knob Built Cheaply but Amp built VERY WELL. Looking for a better Bass knob that will work with this amplifier.

Two things I would change if I produced this amplifier would be as follows:
1. Philips screws to hold the Speaker wire, Power wires etc.

2. Build a much better Bass Control Knob. The one you package with your amps is GARBAGE!

From What I have seen you already changed how wires attach to this amp. So if you build a quality "Bass Control Knob" like your competitors then you will have a customer like me for Life.

EV2.1200

I do in fact strongly recommend this product. I purchased about a month ago. And its only pushing a single 10. But it sounds great and Ik it has PLENTLY more power. So if you're looking to be able to have a little beat. And not want to give half your soul for it. This is the way to go. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.
