A good amp, dollar for dollar.

I am very pleased with this amp! It was supposed to be temporary, until I could afford to repair my popular brand, pricey amp (the repair quote is double the price of this Sound Storm).
- It is very durable, does not cut out, easy to mount, and can be used with various speaker setups, unlike other amps in this price range.
In the near future, I'll definitely buy another Sound Storm!

Not impressed

Installed with a pioneer deh-3000ib head unit and pioneer 6x8 4-way speakers. Sounded decent and got loud (nothing mind blowing for a guy that likes his music loud though), but removed for a day to try powering my speakers with the head unit. Sq shot way up (especially at louder volume) and spl remains the same if not louder than with the amp. Surprisingly still had excellent bass response from my 6x8s even after removing the amp. All in all felt like I wasted money on a 4 channel I didn't really need. Worked, just didn't do it as cleanly as my head units amp, and was overrated for rms power.

u cant beat it for a budget driving hi end speakers!

Bought this on a whim for 45 bucks. Didnt expect much, but was i suprised. Those cryin dudes up the ways sayin that the rms was 22wts. Need a head examination! And i have a pioneer 6200bt head unit that doesnt compare n amplification. This little baby powers 4 mbquart onyx 6x9's and 2 6.5" quart onyx annd on pair of kicker ks 6x9's in the front door of my Tahoe. The real amazing thing is it gets barely warm after long periods of use! I liked it so much got a 1200w one to fire my rock.Fosgate 12" punch subs! Im an old dude..The kids with thier 5grand systems are truely amazed in this town. I recommend this little baby all day long. Just wish it was able to b daisy chained. For 45 bucks i aint complaining though.

not bad for a budget amp, don't expect big things

Not bad for a budget amp, don't expect big things, 50 watts per channels x 4, really? Not really, more like 20-25 watts, which is not much more than some head units. Used it as bridge when my Hifonics Warror-Eagle bit the dust. Needed the small footprint.

When I had enough bucks upgraded to Kenwood XR-4S.

Low priced amp

I didn't own this amp for very long. It was purchased to power my mids and highs but it had an issue with its operation. Sonic Electronix took care of it and I chose to get a store credit in which I later used on a Viper 5704 alarm.

Good for stock speakers

-Shipped fast - 4days
-Arrived with everything in box, clean, undamaged.
-HI-Inputs did not work, however the RCA inputs did.
-Looks clean and sturdy.
-Was easy to hook up, and still works today (4 month daily use)
-Underpowered, no where near 50w @4ohm x4.
-Couldn't power 60w RMS - 120w MAX 4ohm speaker.
-Did however power a 25w MAX 4ohm speaker.
-Overall it's clean and looks nice but it doesn't supply what it says it supplies. More like 30watt rms x4.

not good for 3rd party speakers

i think this boy is enough for amplifying your factory speakers , i installed it with x2 pair of jbl's speakers set max wattage 380 for the 4 speakers i don't think this thing pushes 100 watt for them its not close for 20 watt per speaker , don't repeat my mistake if you have a set of high end speaker get a high end amp with them from brands like pioneer, kenwood, rockford
i forgot to mention it make annoying noise with rpm load when you accelerate you will hear more annoying noise from the speakers i think because its trying to reach its peak power .

You get what you pay for

What do you expect from an amp that costs less than 50 bucks? Don't expect much of anything, and this amp will fill the bill.

The output from this amp comes from two old-school two-channel hybrid modules that produce no more than 16WRMS per channel. That's right. Sixteen. There is no switching power supply in this amp, the output modules run on straight battery 12V, so there's no way it can produce more power than that running an old school class AB power module.

How do I know all this? Because the amp failed after 3 months of use - blown output module - and I repaired it.

Ssl f4.400 amp

For the price you can't go wrong. If your running loud subs and need the speakers to keep up with the bass then go with this amp if money's a problem. I have had this amp for six months and it still performs like it did the day I got it.

Sound Storm Amp

I was looking for a small budget amp. This fit the bill. It was rated at 50 watts rms a channel and cost about 50 shipped. Not a bad little amp but I am pretty sure it is not putting out 50 amps per channel. For the budget conscious person this is not a bad amp but for a little more you could find better. If you budget is super low go for this amp. If you can spend more shop around.

Excellent value

For the price, this is an excellent amp for small sound power needs. I have this amp powering my door speakers and rear speakers, and all are producing quality sound.
I've also used this to power a small 150W tube subwoofer, and it sounded great.
Overall, this is a great amp for the price you pay.

Not bad for Price

The factory amp in my Yukon died. Wanted something that was inexpensive that would put sound to the speakers. Bought this amp, and I was surprised with the sound that was produced. For such an inexpensive piece, my hopes were pretty low, but this amp totally floored me when I got it hooked up.

Good Value

This amp is perfect for highs and mids. For the price, I really don't think you can go wrong or expect it to do better than what it can.

Great amp for the price

If it wasn't for this amp, my speakers wouldn't of been worth it. Made them so much louder!

good amp!

I really like this amp. I have it mounted under one of my seats in my 96 Ford Explorer. I have it powering 4 extra speakers in the trunk, and it gives them plenty of power! On channels 1 and 2, it has a High/Flat Crossover and on 3 and 4, it has a Low/Flat Crossover. I would totally recommend this to anyone!

Good amp

This amp is what I expected for the money. Nothing special, but still works fine. I have this wired to 2 6x9s and 2 6.5s. The sound through the speakers is now rockin' and crystal clear. I would not recommend this amp for powering a big sub, but for my use it works great.

Low Power

I ran 2 pairs of Alpine 6.5 separates with this amp and it truly is underpowered. My Alpine head unit had much better dynamic range and more power. I opened this amp up to see ONLY 2 MOSFETS!! One on each side. I had the amp measured and it puts out 26 WATTS RMS X 4 @ 10% THD!! Not (.10) but a full (10.0) THD.

Great for price

Don't be fooled by the price! If you want a little extra power delivered to those speakers don't overlook this amp. I'm using it to run my Boston Acoustic speakers at 50watts RMS 4ohms to get more sound and cleaner sound than I would off my internal amplifier from my stereo headunit. It sounds fine to me!

Ok product

The amp did the job to about the performance that I paid for it. I didn't really like where they put the gain though... it was really easy to install. sounds good for what I paid for it.

great budget priced amp

I use this amp to power four 6.5 door speakers, it's almost too much power, it's a real bargain with it's mosfet power supply and fit everywhere small size, it's perfect for multi-channel application, I would buy it again

SOUNDSTORM F4.400 AMplifier

The car: 2004 Toyota Camry
The set-up:
1 pair BOSS AUDIO SE 322 3.5 inch speakers (see review)
2 pair BOSS AUDIO SE 693 66x9 inch speakers (see review)
1 BOSS AUDIO 735UA head unit
1 SOUNDSTORM F4.400 400 watt, 4 channel amp
Yes, this is an inexpensive set-up, but you need to hear it to appreciate it! I installed this system in my wife's car and was quite surprised with the results. Installation was a breeze. I mounted it it the far right corner of the trunk which took up no room at all. With the above listed speakers being powered by this amp, I saw no need to go to a large amp. My wife enjoys easy-listening music, so that removed the need for a subwoofer. This amp provides enough power to make my wife happy. Although this amp is not loaded with features, the price, size and the 400 watts make this a fine small amp. If you want to power a couple pairs of speakers without making your ears bleed, but do not want to give up very good sound quality, this amp may be what you are looking for.
