Very useful product.

In June of 2012 I installed a Steelmate USA PTS-400M7 parking assist system on my 2012 VW Jetta TDI. To begin with, I did the instillation myself and found it to be straightforward enough. I will say that having previous mechanical and electrical experience was an asset. This is a nicely designed kit and works quite well, certainly well worth the money.
With the Jetta, rear bumper removal was not necessary. I took my time and completed the instillation in an afternoon, in my driveway.
I would give this product a high rating. It never fails to warn me when I am backing close to another auto or object and, definitely takes the guess work out of reversing in otherwise uncomfortable situations.
I would give this assist system all fives in my evaluation but for the fact that it sometimes gives a false alarm. This could, perhaps, be explained by a drop of water, snow or dust on a sensor. However, it never gives false alerts when an object is actually behind the vehicle.
You can count on its accuracy. As for the occasional false alarm, I think this is typical of even factory installed systems..no biggie but I feel a 4 rating is about right for the PTS-400M7. AND yes, I would use this same system again and I would recommend it to my friends. All in all, a nice, good quality, inexpensive product.
