Sob stinger bat cap

I bought this battery to give constant voltage to my 2 alpine amps. I put a isolator to separate my vehicle battery from the stinger when the ignition is off to prevent discharge of my vehicle battery. I was very pleased to hear the volume level raise and be consistent. This bat cap acts like a capacitator. The specs say an instant 20 amp are discharged into the system. The comparison would be about 300 fareds for the money for 1 faret cap. I am quite pleased with the spv stinger battery and recommend this for any system. Possibly a higher amp battery based on what your needs are.

Reasonable portable battery

I run a JVC Kaboom box at outdoor volleyball tournaments. The unit can accept 10 D cell batteries and can them chew up in one day. I'd need to carry a spare set of 10 D cells. Spent alkaline cells would go in the trash. A set of good rechargeables and chargers would run near $200. Instead I used a single SPV20. I think it has ~20 hours of capacity for my device. I charge with a 15 amp marine smart charger. The charger never seems to indicate a charged state, so I simply disconnect after a few hours, to avoid overcharging. I realize repeated undercharging can also degrade performance, but the basic problem is that it's difficult to read the charge state of this type of battery. I would certainly like to see a built-in LCD charge indicator, for both charge and discharge. I happen to have a sturdy cloth carrying case with strap, but it is rather a pain to carry the heavy battery around. By the way, I had to solder a custom 12VDC supply cord for the Kaboom.

Go as big as yo can bigger is better this work well though.

This product is being used along with a 1 farad cap and another Stinger battery and it keeps my music playing loud. Before I used this battery my voltage would drop to as low as 11 volts and then of course the amp shuts off for the subs. My system is all Orion wiring with Stinger spp1500D battery up front .Deck Pioneer Premier FH-P800bt double din 2 sets of Orion xtr tweeters Orion xtr components in the front doors Orion xtr 6x9's in the rear deck Orion xtr 1001 mono amp running two Orion xtr pro 15" dual 4ohm subs at 1 ohm Raptor 1 Farad cap eclipse ea4200 4 channel amp lights still dim just a tad. My next step might be just a larger cap or alt. Yes does help seems solid so far.

Excellent!

I really can't believe the difference this made in my system. It didn't make my system louder but it made it loud longer!! Lots longer!! With its small size I wasn't sure how big of a difference it would make but I couldn't be more impressed. I have a four door Chevy pick up and it fits perfect behind the rear seat next to my amps. No more dimming headlights!
