These things ROCK. I am very happy with them. They are just about the same surface area as an 8" and are free air.
I mounted them in the rear deck of my 1978 Camaro I built. I wish I would have found and purchased them before the installation of the back window. A lot of cutting and fitting is/was involved.
Yes they can be a lot of work to install, but they are worth it.
I like them so, that I purchased a second pair for my 1955 Chevy pick up.
