I had this alarm system installed in my car in January 2009. The system does exactly what it says it will on Sonic's site: nothing more or less. I have had the system for a few weeks so I can not say much for its reliability. I do know that Directed Electronics (manufacturer of Viper)has a great reputation for product support and replacement.The remote is nice and the brain or control module has a lifetime warranty. The remote shows if the car is locked or not and also displays where on the vehicle a hit or break in has occurred. I payed a ton of money for the system (installed) at a local shop, so Sonic's price is great for this product. The only complaint I have is that the remote button has to be pressed harder than I expected to lock my car. I have ordered over a dozen car products from Sonic over the past few years and had no problems so I recommend this product and Sonic both.

Great Product

This car alarm system is very great and responsive, the only setback is that it doesn't have the range i really need but besides that it is very great to deal with.

Really great alarm w/ lots features. For the price you cant go wrong either. Very detailed w/ instructions, highly recommend to anyone who is looking for alarm.

Great product, but range isn't like promised

Have one of these on a Pontiac G5 and it's absolutely fantastic! I've got two of the window modules hooked up to it to control my front windows and sunroof, fantastic idea for the summer time. Just not exactly pleased with the range. Its not bad, but its not like the 1 mile or 2 mile ones that are out now.

good buy

great alarm, easy to install and works well. my only complaint is with the 2 way lcd remote which doesnt always recieve pages and the bottom half no longer lights up.

vehicle security

Excellent product, great value for the money. I feel my car and valuables are more secure now that I have installed this system. I would recommend the Viper 5002 alarm to anyone. Great buy. But get it installed professionally,you will be glad you did.

The biggest bang for your buck

I installed this product on my lifted 89 Cherokee and caught my first thief in action due to the 2 way paging.... needless to say had fun and the thief went bye bye lol i would recommend this to everyone!!!!
