big 3 upgrade kit

This is an perfect kit to do the big 3 upgrade. It actually contained enough wire for me to have sufficient wire up everything up front and to complete the ground and distribution block wiring for my second battery in the trunk. Would highly recommend.

Great KIT!Best BANG for your BUCK!

At first I was a little skeptical about the kit but once I got it turned out to be great. I installed it on a 02 cavalier and it fit perfectly, and for $50 for 0 gauge what else do you want.

Im currently running 3 amps in my car and this was definitely a great upgrade. Would defiantly recommend to anyone that's on a budget and wanting to do a BIG 3 upgrade.

Instant Sound Quality Improvement

I installed this in a 1998 Grand Prix GTP, the entire install took about half an hour. This was well worth $50!! Before this, I was having problems with headlight dimming when the bass would hit, the entire car would sometimes shut off, and the windows were getting slow. After I installed this, the engine seems to crank over (start) faster, no more of the entire car shutting off, windows seem to work faster, and best of all-- a significant improvement in sound quality. I also had a lot of alternator whine prior to this installation; this kit seemed to greatly reduce that (it's still there, just not nearly as noticeable). One should take note, that this product DOES NOT come with the extra ring terminals as shown in the picture.

Was curious if I was going to have to put the ring terminals on myself and I'm glad they came already on. Came with everything needed to do this upgrade and had easy enough instructions to follow even if you didn't know anything about cars. Would recommend it to anyone whose looking to do this upgrade.

pretty nice

it gave me less flex in my voltage, but made my motor and trans run and shift noticeably better. now if I just upgrade my alternator, every thing would be good.

Great Purchase

Instead of adding a second battery I bought this, 100% worth the purchase. I never have any electrical problems or power drops. The wire is true 0 gauge. XS power makes great products, I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone.

Works great

Used this along with a 1700 watt brz-1700 and a 30 farad capacitor. Just what I needed. A little hard to get through the firewall but that's because I didn't want to drill any extra holes, so a little dry lube did the trick

The power booster

I just got through hooking up the big 3 to my car and install my system and let me to you that my power that I have is awesome and I have a 1 farad cap and well there is no use for that now my light as listed do not dim and my volt meter that I have install and match with my battery stays at 14.7vdc then a hour later it will stay at 14.5vdc and will not move with my 2 8's with my headlights on and ac running as well a great product to have, but the cons the zip ties are to small and not enough battary clamps as will.

I have 2005 Escalade with 4 RF 1800 watts a piece.And my lights looked as if I were flashing people.I purchased this kit,read how to install it ,it tookall of 45 minutes to do my voltage went from 12.9 to 14.5 and when im bassing drops to 11 or 12.No more blinking outside,but know my interiir lights blink?Over all im happy now that the correct grounds are in my vehicle

Necessary upgrade for all!

Gained 3/4 of a volt over the stock wiring, and ended all dimming of my headlights in my stock silverado.

I have to say I was impressed with the wiring kit. It came with everything you need including instructions! This made installing the kit real easy, no guess work. The wires are the wires are 10% OFC and XS Power makes sure it makes up for not being 100% OFC by adding more strands. This is a great product and I highly recommend this to anyone who demands mass power distribution.

The wire was so think that I balrey fit the thing in my 1/0awg wire inputs one the battery terminal adapter and to cut the wire I had to use a hack saw lol I could cut it by hand and but really flexibal so really pros and coins are even and hella useful if u don't want to or have the money for a bigger altinator

Big Upgrade well needed

Bought this from there Ebay store and received it within two days. I installed this before I installed my bass amp and what a difference in my voltage. My voltage with my truck running before would stay at 13.3 to 13.9 with bass notes now with this kit voltage stays at 14.8 to 14.9 voltage never drops with bass notes. Use this kit with an alternator upgrade and/or battery upgrade ( I did both with 250AMP Alternator with two XS D3400 batteries). even my truck runs stronger with this upgrade.

Very easy to install and described correctly. Comes with extra pieces just in cast you want to shorten the cables.

Big three

Was as described but half of the connectors came off during installation, luckily I needed to remove them anyways. Good price and did the job.

Must have for Big Installs

The Big3XP kit has all the necessities if you're thinking about adding some serious power to your ride. There's more than enough 1/0 cable to get around under your hood and the accessories pack isn't too shabby either. My only request is that they up the number of extra 1/0 "lugs" to 4 or 6. The pack only comes with two and if you need the Big 3 for your system 3 pre-cut lengths of cable with lugs already attached and 2 extra lugs for your custom install doesn't quite get it done so do yourself a fav and add another pair of lugs if you order this kit.

Conclusion:

The XS Power BIG3XP was a great addition to my car and any car. Since I run only 2000 rms I believe having CCA was a good choice since its only to supply power to the car batt and grounds. The wires was a bit long for my small subaru impreza but for any big SUV or Engine bay with alternator on the opposite side of the battery will be a good use. (This is a good thing) Because I did the big 4 upgrade the same time i changed to a HO Alternator and New Batt, I didn't see the affects of the dimming of lights or the drops in voltages. Over all this was definitely a great buy and a definite upgrade for those people who do not want to get their hands dirty crimp lugs and ring terminals together.

Side Note:

I took off the Shrink wrap to see the connection and the crimp was factory crimped but not soldered. I soldered all connection to get a better connection from them.

Easy to install!

I installed these cables on a 2009 Chevy Silverado that the lights would dim when the base hit with the radio up to mid range...was told this would take care of the problem. No change really...my voltage will show more when I first start the truck but after 2 or 3 minutes it's back to where it started with the problem.

this works...as a skeptic, i dont mind spending a few dollars for trial and error..after successfully finding a suitable ground to the engine block, my headlight dim is minimal..some of the local shops around hera want 10-12 dollars per foot of the 0 gauge wiring..this is a great deal...sonic forever!!! wish i had some sonic stickers!! great product!!...

Good for the monry

For the little bit of money this cost, it's a very good upgrade. I haven't actually used a volt meter to compare before and after, but my stereo definitely got louder and no dimming lights. The increased efficiency in transfer route keep the voltage constantly stable equaling higher voltage for the amps to use.

Got the big3 and paired it with a mechman 250amp alt and I haven't seen a volt drop yet. I'm running two Rockford 12s, with two Rockford amps, in for the woofers and one for the mids and highs. XS makes sure you got everything you need including heat shrink. Very pleased with it.

great product included everything for my upgrade with a lot of wire to spare. this was installed in a 2004 chevrolet tahoe. I was able to do battery positive to alternator positive. battery ground to alternator ground. alternator ground to chassis and alternator positive to the little junction box. after all that I had about 3.5 -4 feet of wire left over. only thing I could find wrong was that one of the terminals was a little loose but nothing a little extra pressure can fix.

Big 3 upgrade Ram 1500

Have not installed it yet, but seems of good quality. Connections are nice, cable and jacket feels good and solid.

In case you don't know (like I didn't) this needs to be fused between the positive alt and positive battery terminal. Fuse size is what your alternator puts out. Mine is a factory 180 amps so my fuse is 200.

Excellent price for CCA

I thought I had selected the 100% OFC when I originally added this to my cart but I was mistaken; this is the Copper Clad Aluminum model. Next time, I'll read my screen a little more carefully. Having said that, the construction quality of this kit is top notch and the cables do work. They are still WAY better than your stock 10 gauge alternator/battery cables, I assure you. If you are running a high amperage system, however, you'll definitely want to stick with the 100% OFC cable. Thankfully, Sonic has a link on the product page to the 100% version so I hope you will learn from my mistake!

After purchasing a 99 Silverado I wanted to get a big 3 kit for the exapected audio and performance upgrades, purchased from sonic and received in two days, kit is complete, I was able to cut two of the wires to the length I needed and use the supplied terminal and heat shrink to make it look clean!! I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to upgrade the small factory alternator and ground wires!!!

Recommend this if you are upgrading electrical. Easy to work with despite size of cable. Be familiar with your vehicle to ensure wire does not come in contact with moving parts or extremely hot objects. I would suggest having the proper crimpers/cutters as well or solder and a torch.

I have a 240 amp mechman alternator, so I definetly needed a big 3 wiring kit. This kit is great. I didn't realize while I was installing everything that I had ran the alternator power wire across the intake manifold on my car. About a month later I popped the hood once more to replace my serpentine belt and saw that the wire had been sitting there on this hot manifold the whole time. I looked at the wire and not a single burn mark at all. Not even and color difference. 30 days of sitting on a hot intake manifold while driving to and from work and so on, and this wire was perfectly fine. Very impressed! Not to mention the fuse is pretty big which is also a plus if you're running a beefy system. Definitely would buy again if needed.

Side note. I wish we could upload photos with these reviews so people can see these products in a personal environment. Maybe side by side comparisons with other products.

XS Power Big 3 Review

I didn't do the install but I can tell the difference now. Clean contact to the bare metal and to the alternator. My voltage stays at 13.2-13.0 when the bass hits. I encourage anyone to have this if you are planning to upgrade your audio system.

The big three is awesome. The hook up was flawless and the product really works. I did have my doubts but the finish results was astonishing. Once I hooked it all up the voltage s :) it straight up and at 14.5 volts. I run high powered cb amps in my vehicles. That big three really works.
