Essential Part

I put these on a pair of Polk db series 4 x 6 plate speakers to block frequencies below 100 Hz. They are well made and do the job. These help keep the system sound clean and sharp while letting the larger speakers handle the lower frequencies.

100 Hz bass blockers

Installed these in my 2010 Subaru Forester's front doors where I installed a set of Polk db651s. Speakers sounded great with terrific bass from the factory head unit, but blasting some dirty Buddy Guy told me it was too much bass. I have the factory sub for low-end, so I decided to cap the fronts.

I chose these because I didn't want to cut below 150, and 80 would probably have been too low. 100 Hz was PERFECT, and the speakers sound great with no low-end distortion.

100 Hz bass blockers, they block the bass and who cares what they look like.

They do what they are supposed to

Well, not much to say. It's a passive crossover and it works as advertised.

They Work Like They Should

Buy them, they work. I've had them nearly a year and they are still working like they should.

Proper Performance - Perfect Protection

I stole this idea from a well known car audio specialist who charged me mucho-plenty to do a custom installation in one of my cars; place a passive bass blocker on the front door speakers. This provides perfect protection for the smaller speakers, and it allows you to 'tune' the system more accurately using only the front-to-rear fader on the head unit.
