FiiO E17 Alpen

Awesome Amp!!

If your thinking of a portable headphone amplifier then this is it. This thing sounds amazing and it's very powerful. I've got a few other portable headphone amps to compare it to and this thing outshines them all. Not only does it outshine them in sound but features as well.......this thing has separate bass and treble settings so you can tailor the sound just as you like it. The display is a nice feature which shows battery strength, volume and all your menu adjustments. It really makes a difference on all the headphones I hook to it.......it gives them all a more cleaner, crisp sound that's louder and has the bass response you can start to feel. Especially using my Monster Beats Studios :-) these things sound amazing running off this E17 amplifier. I promise you won't regret this purchase!

Fantastic compact headphone amp!!

This little guy (the size of most smartphones) is fantastic! It contains many features such as EQ, various output sources, lcd display, etc). I"ve paired it with my Westone 4 earphones and a laptop, tablet and ipod touch and used it while travelling and it vastly improves sound quality! This is a "must" for anyone who wants to optimize their listening experience from portable devices but pairs well wjhen using a quality set of either head/earphone or desktop speakers.

Sounds great

I'm using this as a desktop (non-portable) amp with my computer and it works great in this application. It sounds really good. It pairs especially well with my Logitech UE900 for some reason, but it'll make any pair of headphones sound better. It's also not too big and easy to set up because you don't need to download any extra software.

Just What I Needed

I have only used the analog feature of this device and have been completely satisfied with the quality. The main reason for purchasing a headphone amp was due to my hearing loss in one ear. The ability to adjust the volume balance between right and left channels has been a God-send. This device is well built and easy to use.

Awesome device!

I use my FiiO E17 every single day at work since the integrated audio is absolutely terrible. I did quite a bit of research on portable amps and DACs and finally landed on the E17 and I have not been disappointed at all. The only thing that bothered me was the strange gasoline-like smell of the carrying pouch that was included. Other than that I've had no issues and the sound reproduction on this DAC/amp is absolutely superb for the price!

Works Great!

I got this to increase the sound levels and quality of my portable electronics and it does just that. Would definitely recommend this product. Great value. Would have rated it 5 stars but nothing is perfect.

Nice Entry-Level Amplifier

The looks of the e17 is niiice. I really like the hairline finished of it. Also, the build quality is nice because it is metal. Amplification is great. Price is very affordable. What I don't like about it is the display and the buttons.

Good but worth the price?

I love this DAC, since i bought it I've used it everyday paired with the e09k amp, currently using this with some Somic MH63's until i can afford a higher tier headphone but this certainly is keeping me satisfied. After much debate and researching though I feel it might be a little pricey at least when compared with the e09k, which is well over 200 dollars, against other combos in that price tier you'll probably find much better devices. Still that shouldnt turn you away from this. If your only interested in the DAC however, this is the best budget device out there!

Love this thing!

I had the E7/E9 combo and was fairly happy with it, as long as they were together. The E7 as a portable fell short. The E7 started to have what I thought were electrical problems so I ordered the Alpen/E17 and wow, what a difference. Wonderful as portable plus all the other advantages. Soundstage is huge comparably, and all the features. I am now using it as a DAC, but can easily switch to DAC/amp. I can switch between my Mac, and my cd player with a touch. Awesome, it's not quite as powerful as when its Docked , but the clarity is great.
