The Sangean ATS-909X is the flagship of the Sangean line of AM/FM/SW Portable Radios. It provides performance and features generally found in more expensive table top communication receivers and combines it all into a very compact and stylish package. Coverage includes all long wave, medium wave, short wave, and AM and FM stereo frequencies. (FM Stereo through headphone jack) It's a clear step up from Sangean's previous ATS-909 model in terms of construction, output power, and signal range.

Sangean is quality
Sangean makes quality products. I worked in hardware design for a large computer company and I recognize a well made circuit board when I see one. Sangean uses quality components. They're able to put allot of function in a small pkg. I hope they don't change. Some might rate this rate hard to use, but hey, it's allot more than a simple am/fm radio.

Nice Radio
This Radio is a BIG upgrade from the ATS-909 it replaced. The RDS locks in much faster and it has less Internal noise in the AM section, which is important when listening to Distant Stations. I did Open mine up to also get the 4 Meter Band as well as the Russian OIRT FM band for listening to E skip. Overall this is a great portable radio for Shortwave as well as Domestic Broadcast listening.
