Patent-pending Fazor elements guide and manage the flow of sound for improved frequency extension and a more enveloping soundstage. The X is sensitive enough to be driven directly by portable players like iPods, iPhones, and the better smartphones but an external amplifier produces better results.
Audeze’s patent-pending Fazor elements improve clarity, focus and the already spectacular holographic imaging. Two Fazor elements are placed just outside the two magnet structures that surround the diaphragm. They guide and manage the flow of sound around the magnets and are standard on all LCD headphones.

Like a Ferarri Truck
If Ferarri made a truck and then transformed it into a headphone the LDC-X would be it. They sound amazingly detailed, high energy, use really nice ear cushions, are well built and are expensive all like a Ferarri. And just like a truck they are heavy and can be uncomfortable on long trips (extended listening). They sound sick on every genre you throw at them giving music lots of energy while still maintaining all the details for analytical listening. They are my favorite of all the Audeze so far (haven't compared to EL-8) and my number 3 favorite headphones so far. Surprisingly, they sound good running off my phone but are a on an entirely new level with a good amp and uncompressed hi-fidelity music. If you can afford it, get it! If you can't afford it, get a poster of it an put it on the wall next all your exotic car posters.
