Great Remote

Great Remote when it works.... Third one so far. The first one was ruined by water being spilled on it but the second one had its battery stop taking a charge. So, I'm on number three and its working good so far.

Sometimes newer isn't better

This seems to be the "second generation" of the XT-100-OLED remote, as the first generation had a red "Start (*)" button. Biggest difference between generation 1 (red *) and generation 2 (blue*) is battery life - and generation 2's battery life stinks.

With the original remote I only had to charge the remote about once a month; generation 2 requires a weekly charge. Remote range seems to be the same - but the remote is still too sensitive to damage & screen scratches.

I would never get again!

I bout a car with this product already installed. Have gone through two remotes and am thinking buying a whole new car alarm instead of a new remote. It is expensive to get a new remote and have someone program it. The first one worked great and then one day the battery didn't want to charge. The second one the screen does not work and am starting to have battery issues. Another big problem is the remote start. I have a Subaru STi, it is manual, and if I accidentally touch the remote start button the system turns on and I cant shut it off until it is done doing its thing. An alarm should be simple, this one is not.

Great Alarm. Still reliable

I installed this system on my Tundra over 3 years ago and it still works great. It's alerted me to at distances of over a mile and like from the 20th floor of my hotel room all the way from the distance parking lot of the casino. Only issues are the price to buy a new OLED remote ($129!) and it's bulkiness. Durable though, survived running it over from my quad a year ago but is now showing some cracking issues.

Minor problems but still good to have.

This product has a lot of good features that I don't even use. Some of the features take too much "button pushing" to get to. The older model was more user friendly but this has a rechargeable battery. It says you have 2 bars left, but then the next time you look at it it's dead. The website said you can go for months. You have to charge about every 2 weeks, but you still save money on batteries.

Great alarm system, not so great remote battery life

I've been very happy with the Autopage alarm and remote start. Unfortunately, the battery life on the OLED remote leaves something to be desired. I'm lucky if I get 4 days before the battery is dead, so I need to remember to charge it regularly. There is a power save mode, but it disables most of the functionality until you switch back to normal mode.

It works pretty well, but...

The display has become so dim, it is difficult to see in a dark room. The power save option is not activated. This is the second unit that this has happened. The warranty covered the replacement of the original.

Agree with Nikon1 from November 2009

The new remote had a blue button instead of red, and noticed that I had to start charging weekly instead of monthly, which is rather annoying, but at least it is rechargable and for the most part a good remote.

Not sure if it is the remote or the alarm, but if you accidentally set off the alarm, trying to turn it off can be rather annoying as it is in the middle of trying to receive information while you try to push the alarm off button. I can press it half a dozen times or more before it will finally send the signal.
