DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! WILL NOT WORK IF YOU HAVE A STEREO WITH DSP!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE A DSP SOUND SYSTEM! THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK! After countless hours of trying to get this kit to work with my vehicle (2007 BMW e83 X3), Scosche, the manufacturer of this kit, acknowledged that they knew it would not work with these systems, but didn’t bother to put that in the description of their product. No warning at all. No disclaimer. Even on their own company product website. First: They left out an entire wiring harness. When I called them, they actually said “oh. Well that’s just for steering wheel audio system control, so you can just use your stereo buttons on your head unit.” No... The whole point of the kit is to integrate an aftermarket stereo with the factory steering wheel audio controls, AND mount the new stereo. Second: After following the instructions EXACTLY, regarding wiring, connection, and CUTTING OUT PART OF THE DASHBOARD SUPPORT WITH A HACKSAW, I had no sound! I know, before you all say it - yes, I should have tested the wiring before I cut the dashboard. That’s my bad. I had a reasonable expectation that this product would work as intended. Unfortunately, I made a mistake I will never make again. Another call to Scosche. After some emailing back and forth, the agent asks if I have the DSP system (this is indicated on the amplifier, located in the cargo area, left side, behind the carpet trim panel, near the wheel well). I said yes. MOST of these vehicles have either the mid-grade or better sound system, which is an amplified system with DSP. The agent writes back and tells me that the kit will NOT work with this system, and I should call Crutchfield or Sonic Electronix and see if they have a kit or solution. Wait. I spent over $100.00 on this thing because you SAID it would work with my vehicle. Now you’re telling me I can’t return it because I’ve spliced the wires, and should be expected to go to another company and spend more money? (By the way - this product is the same unit sold on Sonic Electronic AND Amazon). HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never buy another Scosche product again. I invest a great deal of money and time in my vehicles, and I expect a product to work as it is intended or promised. Scosche is aware that the product won’t work, yet made no attempt to warn consumers. This is FALSE ADVERTISING! I only rated 1 star so this review would post. The product, and the manufacturer, Scosche, don’t even deserve the one star...
