Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Some factory amps have built-in crossovers that only send bass to the door. If you tapped those wires, the tweeters won't get a signal. You’ll need to find a full-range signal source or tap the factory tweeter wires instead.
This is a component kit, so the tweeters are separate for better imaging. For the best sound, mount them at dash or ear level. If you must keep them together, you’ll need a custom bracket to hold the tweeter in front of the 6x9.
Open the crossover box! Inside, you’ll find a small jumper or switch labeled "0dB / -3dB." Moving it to -3dB will slightly lower the tweeter's output, giving you a smoother, more balanced sound that isn't too harsh.
If they hit your trunk's torsion bars or springs, use a 1/2" spacer ring to lift them slightly. This provides the clearance needed while keeping the install looking clean.
Many factory systems (like Dodge/Chrysler) use 2-ohm speakers. The VSP69KIT2F matches this lower impedance, allowing your factory amp to deliver its full power without overheating or sounding weak like a 4-ohm speaker would.

Stock speakers are better

I bought these to replace my stock speakers on a 2013 Chrysler 300 with beats. The 6x9 themselves sound almost as good as the stock ones. They're clearer but there's a noticeable drop in bass and when the volume is turned up, it can't hang with the stock speakers, the bass distorts.
