Not a bad gizmo
I ordered this for use with my 2nd gen iPod Shuffle along with the Scosche TapStick in order to make log car trios more bearable. While it will never be as good as a direct connection it's pretty good for what it is. Once you find the right frequency the sound quality is pretty decent. One issue I did find was that the default volume level is too low but the TapStick allowed me to raise the output volume enough so that I didn't have to increase the car's volume by a huge amount. I can't give full marks for durability simply because I haven't had it long. The design is fine and easy to use. Feature-wise it would be nice if it was a bit stronger in order to give a better signal, but it's still really good. As for ease of use, if it auto tuned it might be better, but it's still easy enough to figure out.

the best transmitter that I've found
I had bought a scosche FMT4R transmitter at Wa**art that turned out to be wonderful! It went down to 87.7 and had toggle switches to set to a station. It was small enough that I could connect it to my mp3 and hang from my rearview mirror. Unfortunately, the constant hanging from the rearview and throwing it in my purse wore out the wire, and it was not working properly anymore - the sound was not full volume anymore. This was after I had it for quite some time - maybe about a year or so. I went back to buy another and could not find it anywhere. I went online to find the exact same transmitter I had bought at Wa**art. I found it on this site, and ordered it. I got it in no time, and it was cheaper than anywhere else I found it. Also, shipping was free. I received it and panicked - they send me a different version of the transmitter, though it was the same brand. I found out that the one I had was no longer manufactured, and that this one was the newer model of it. I also noticed that it only went down to 88.1, and I was afraid that I would not get good sound due to the fact that the clearest station in the area is 87.7. I decided to try it out anyway, thinking that maybe the problem had been the other transmitter, rather than the frequency, and I was delighted! I found out that the sound was just as clear as my other one had been, and this on a frequency that was not even completely clear! I am so happy with this product! I want to buy another one, but they are currently out of stock on this site. I've signed up to be notified as soon as they have them again - I want to get one for my brother as a belated christmas present - his expensive one that he bought did not work out - it sounded awful and one day it just stopped working for no apparent reason. I highly recommend this transmitter to anyone who wants CD quality music in the car!
