My amp has no power. How do I test the holder?

Use a multimeter to check voltage on both brass terminals. If you have 12V on the battery side but 0V on the amp side, the fuse is blown or the set screws are loose. Tighten the screws to ensure a solid connection.

What wire sizes fit the XMANL48?

This holder accepts 4 AWG or 8 AWG wire. It includes sizing inserts for 8-gauge wire. For 4-gauge, remove the inserts to fit the wire directly into the satin-chrome brass ports for maximum current flow.

The fuse holder is melting. Is it defective?

No. Melting is caused by heat from loose connections at the wire ports or fuse terminals. Ensure the set screws are extremely tight. High resistance from a loose wire generates heat that will melt the polycarbonate housing.

Is this holder waterproof?

No. It is water-resistant, meaning the cover protects against dust and minor splashes. It lacks submerged-grade seals. Mount it in a dry location to prevent the solid brass from corroding over time.

Why use Mini-ANL over a glass AGU fuse?

Reliability. Glass AGU fuses often fail due to vibration or internal solder fatigue. Mini-ANL (AFS) fuses use a solid metal strip and a screw-down connection, providing a more durable, high-current path for your system.

Flawed Design

By virtue of the screw-end design, it's impossible to fully tighten the fuse in place. In order to secure the fuse, you'll spend a lot of time playing with the tightness in the screw to get it as close as possible to a 'pinching' tightness that still allows the fuse to be slid into place. It was cheap, and it looks nice, but if you want a product that you're sure won't dislodge, this one should probably be avoided.

exactly what I was looking for

This small and effective mini ANL fuse holder is perfect for my application. I needed something that was small that I could place inline with my sub amp power cable. It seems very durable and well made. Value for money is through the roof.
