has it all
Kit has everything you need for a hassle free installation, I was thinking I wasn't going to need it, but was glad I had it after things got going.

Great Value!!!
If your looking for an amp install kit with all of the necessities that doesn't cost and arm and a leg this is it. The kit came with everything needed to get power to my amp the length was perfect for a extended cab pickup. The RCA's lack a little but I just used these single channel RCA's to run my sub amp and I bought some Streetwire 4 ch RCA's for the 4 ch amp and it's turned out great. I've always had good luck with Install Bay products!!! I would recommend to any one in search of a good Amp Install Kit!!!

2nd time with this install bay kit
its a great kit for the price. I bought it once for a buddys Suby and then for my father in laws econoline van. never had a problem with either. sonic can be slow at shipping. but if on a budget this kit kicks butt for the price....not much online can compare for a 4 gauge and price. never a problem with feed back or crappy rca. might have to get a few better connectors but hey its a given. anyways great kit. also great for a basic systems. I wouldn't run more then 100 amps of power max.

Does what its suppose to do!
This product is exactly what it is, a kit! I LOVE IT, everything i needed was included and durable! the 4ga wire is true to size! (not just labeled 4ga IT REALLY IS!) if needed, id purchase again!

New amp kit
Not much to review, It works fine. The only issue is that the power cable doesn't fit into the fuse holder. The fuse glass and holder plastic actually cracked when trying to close it. I'm sure I'll have to replace them soon. Other then that, it's good enough to power my amp with no issues. Yes, I would recommend it to others, just be careful when connecting the fuse holder and power wire. Don't use force!

Decent Install Kit
This kit isn't too bad it does the job. The fuse holder seems a little bit cheap on the plastic material but it works. The power cable held up to my abuse when I ran it through my tight space trims in my vehicle and I had to really pull them hard to get through. The RCA cable is a bit thin but I used it for my subs anyways so no problems there.

Decent for the money
I originally bought and 8 gauge cuz that's what my amp called for, it was a joke so I returned it and got this 4. Easy return/ exchange. Sounds like it happens a lot...
I think these kits are measured on the outside including plastic diameter not the inside wire.
Anyways buy the next size down from what you need. Kit came with lots of little parts to make the install ez. Would buy again for a 200-400 watt amp

AK4
Bought the Installbay AK4, pretty decent pricing although its wire is very brittle and falls apart when splicing it so be careful. Also remember your going to need a crimping tool so look for one before getting too excited. Overall good product, no problems encountered

CAN NOT BEAT IT FOR THE $$$
I just needed a cheap kit for my girl friend's Dad's van and boy did it do the trick. For the price you're not going to find much else, it's super flexible. Can't ask for more for the money.

ehh
Good price. Nice sized wire, but not enough connectors for what it's supposed to do. Also not a very big fuse.
72 found this helpful
half decent for the price
The wire is not really 4 gauge its more like inbetween 6 and 4 gauge, but its good for hooking up an amp for up to about 1500 rms. Good little kit that comes with everything needed but a little heads up, it could have been a fluke with mine but the agu fuse that came with the fuse holder fell apart. literally the glass, fuse element, and end caps all seperated. Anyways its a good kit and would probably buy it again.

Great value
For the price you will not find any thing better. The kit comes with long enough, and big enough wires. As for electrical noise and static I have not experienced any.

Does job for the money
This amp kit is decent, it does the job for the money paid. Only complaints would be that the speaker wire is very cheap and does not hold up very good. It rips easily. I have it powering an 800 watt mono block amp...For the money it does the job.

Basic Kit, served its purpose
Nothing to complain, or rave about, basic kit that served its purpose. although the wire did not properly fit into the fuse holder(i upgraded to a kicker anl/afs 4/0 gauge).
62 found this helpful
You get what you pay for
I wouldn't try to pass more than 600 watss rms through this. The price is very cheap but the actual wire is 8ga. If you need the real power I would suggest saving extra and getting a real 4ga kit... it'll be worth it in the end.

Ok kit for the money.
I have had ok luck with the kit. The connectors for the big power wire and ground kind of suck to crimp and I've had a little bit of the copper strands come apart at the connections but I'm not sure if thats my fault or not. Im not an expert installer but i did take electrical in college so I'm not doing too much wrong.

Not bad
Overall it's a sick kit. The power/ground are 4awg, the rca's work great, fuse / fuse holder is great, the speaker wire was not sufficient for my application. Amp required min. 12 gauge and the speaker wire in this is a small 16 gauge.
62 found this helpful
great for the price what can i say
Got this kit 7 months ago running 500 watts and 2 x 10's it works for me and is cheaper vs the $160 amp kit i got in the other car.

It works, it's a great price, and I can't tell a difference over higher end wiring kits. Unless you are installing an exotic system, this wiring kit should do the trick!

Decent kit for the cost
Everything you would need in a wiring kit. Only downside is the ground and power connectors were too small for the battery post and ground point, had to go and find larger size (which were difficult to find)
59 found this helpful
pretty good
the couplings arent that good. get it right the first time and you'll be good. i dont think the 4 gauge is true 4 gauge but it gets the job done. works fine for me.
60 found this helpful
all you need
Has everything you need. The only thing is u might want a higher fuse to use, other than that there is nothing bad you could possibly say about these wires.
60 found this helpful
Godd kit for the price
This is a great kit. The only think that could be better is a little thicker speaker cable. It is sufficient but i just like a little bit bigger. I just used some of my own i had around the house. Otherwise the power and ground cables are thick and sturdy. All around good product.

A good cheap install kit.
Not sure what else to say. Wireing is all the actual guage, fuse/connectors are included. Wire is Aluminum coated with copper but your not going to find solid copper for this price. I dident use the RCA's but they look decent.
Very flexable and easy to run.

Gets the job done
All i can say is that this wire kit gets the job done i have it hooked up to 4800 watts of power and i have no problem with it. And it alo comes with speaker wires. No amp kit i ever bought came with speaker wires so it's a good deal.

i runing over 1000 watts througth this cable
Pros/Cons: All and all great wire and kit but this is not true 4 gauge but is very close. i have not had any problems with my system and my local audio shop only carrys this. this is great for the money. i have the 4 and 8 gauge kits. I recommend these but stay away from 2 and 0. Brands that are true are Kicker, Monster, and Street Wire. Stay away from Absolute. Tsunami i bought a 4 gauge ground wire and thats how i found out that its not true 4 gauge so i recommend these.

great value
I bought this for an 1100 watt amp and it provides plenty of power for it, this wire is closer to a 4 gauge than others. Flexible wires but pretty small speaker wire, I'd recommend new speaker wire for subs. The fuse came apart when installing the fuse holder but those are cheap. I've recently bought this again for another amp and works perfect again.

good kit
I've used this kit in two different installs and the wire is very flexible the only problem i have with the kit are the pack of terminals that it comes with you might as well throw it away

Great kit
I've had it for 4 months now. On 15's and 12's and NO problems!
55 found this helpful
Acceptable
This kit has just about everything you need, I would only make a couple minor changes.
The power/ground wire isn't true 4gauge, its closer to 6.
The kit comes with one black fork terminal, I needed to pick up another one for the positive hookup to my amp.
Other than that, there was a good amount of length for all the wiring and came with wireties that I didn't use due to how i hid the wires in the doorjam. Also came with grommets that I didn't use (I just pushed through a factory one).
55 found this helpful
its not bad
it not 100% true 4ga wire but it gets the job done, it says it comes with a agu fuse but mine actually came with a mini anl fuse.. so i bought extra fuses for nothing...but overall a great kit.

the ak4 wiring kit
This is a great kit for systems under 2000 watts but any more you have a fire hazard and need to upgrade. The only con about this kit is that the fuse block is week and when I got my kit the fuse was busted so I bad to replace that fuse with a new one and I was missing a joining bolt so if you get this kit your best bet is to go get a different fuse block scosch has a fuse block that is far more durable.

Not 4 gauge.
It's not even close to 4 gauge.
57 found this helpful
Its good for the price i have to buy a second power wire
I have purchase this kit 2 times once for my subwoofer and amp setup and the second time for my speaker and amp setup. Only problems I have are that this kit is not sufficient enough for SUV owners there needs to be around 20 ft or more of amp wire.
Pro
- Amp wire and speaker wire very flexible
- Reliable kit
- Has 25ft of speaker wire even though i need like 60ft
- Zero issues with my system cutting in and out due to wire quality
Cons
- I ran out of speaker and amp wire cause I have a Cherokee XJ
- The Hitron amp wire i bought seemed to be a tad bit thicker in leading me to think this may be a little less than true 4gauge.

Great beginner's amp kit!
The wire size was adequate for my first amplifier install, and it works great. I do have a problem with the RCA cable that is included though, as it gives a high pitch sort of a buzz at all times; the one included with my BOSS amp kit (surprisingly) doesn't buzz at all. The speaker wire is OK, but pretty thin.
Overall I recommend this kit, but maybe get a new RCA if yours buzzes like mine.

Cheap. Misleading product.
I bought this because it was cheap so I was not expecting a lot. Just for a little 50x4 MB Quart amp. This is not a 4 gauge kit at all. Honestly it is a 7 gauge kit. The insulation is very thick making the small wire look much larger until you look at it in a cross view. It is awkward because if you use the terminals that come with the kit they are for a 4 gauge kit and really do not work with the small wire. And it is just slightly to large for 8 gauge terminals.

Great install kit for a first timer !!!
I used this kit to do my first install ever on my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It did great, I installed a Autotek 1000 street amp with 2 12" memphis subs. Kit had everything I needed to do the install and at a great price !!! The only thing I can recommend is to go to your local audio shop and get about a foot long piece of smaller power wire to downsize your ground wire or you will be fighting with it for a long while. (4 gauge is a little big to fit the little screw attachment on the amp)
55 found this helpful
Very Good Kit
This kit is a very good choice fo rsomeone that does not know too much about running wire though their vehicle. The cable itself is very soft and flexible which makes it easy to hide under carpets or behind kit panels. The only thing this kit lacks are the fork terminals you would use on certain amps. However this is not too big a deal where as most amplifier manufactures seem to be going to the allen scew down terminals so you wouldn't need the forks anyway.

Gets the job done but bad rca cables
I bought this because I didnt want to spend the money at the chain electronic stores that were selling these kits. The speaker wire felt sort of stiff but I didn't use it anyways. The power and ground were pretty thick and flexable. The rca cable went bad on me in about a month and a half so I'm going to buy some more expensive ones soon. Like mentioned before there is not enough connectors.
55 found this helpful
can't complain
Not quite 4ga but it's money well spent, works great with my amp and it came with everything i needed. Sonic Electronix has never given me trouble either, everything ships quickly and arrives undamaged.
52 found this helpful
not bad
i got this kit for GMC Sierra, i have a kicker comp to it, going to a dual amp, i didn't want to much power, but this kit can handle about 700 watts, the RCA's are OK, and my truck does seem to be electrically stable, everything fit well, the terminals sucked though, it wasn't a true 4 gauge but for what i paid for it i was impressed... liked it, if you are on budget go for it!!

Good price for a decent kit.
Short and sweet: Great kit, has everything most people need.
Pros: All pieces seem to be high quality.
Cons: Had to go buy a couple terminals because the ones in the kit weren't big enough to fit the bolts / connectors I have in my vehicle.

Great for the price!
Medium grade kit, not true 4gauge in my eyes but it has worked fine for systems up to 1500 watts for me. I have used this exact kit in about 6 of my installs in the last couple months. Cheap but effective and good for the price!!

Great product
I had enough length for all my connections. The only cons would be upgrade the speaker wire and get a bigger fuse holder because the wire seems to be bigger than the holes. Other than that a must buy for the price.
51 found this helpful
this wire kit is ok. is not a 4 gauge.
this is not a 4 gauge wire this is good for a 400 watts amp. this wire would run hot if you connect to a 800 watts or more.
good feature is the kit is complete and wire is flexible.

Good wires for the price
The wires are actually pretty good. The only problem I have is the RCA wires. They are pretty cheap looking and I recommend you crimp the ends a little before u install them, they tend to unplug from the amp. All in all good wiring for the price.
53 found this helpful
Decent Wires
Did the job. No issues. Used on a 600 watt amp with 600 watt sub.
50 found this helpful
It works, sorta
Oh boy where to start, the RCAs are super cheap non twisted and I don't recommend them they have a tendency to induce noise into the system. The 4 gauge wire is more like a 5 gauge. The speaker wire is a joke as well. The only thing good about this is the fuse holder and the connectors. This is good for someone who is just starting out with a system, otherwise I recommend a kit of higher quality such as Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, or even Monster wire.

It works for what it is
If you need an amp kit to get you by till you can afford a better OFC kit, this works pretty good. Is it true 4 gauge, no, but not to far off. The only other thing is the remote wire is way to small. I had to use some other wire I had for that. Over all its an OK kit.

Great Kit!! Not to cheap Not to expensive
Not a professional in the car audio area but from what i do know these are great at least first time buyer wires. This kit comes with everything you need and the speaker wire is a bonus plus since its 25ft!. I used all 17ft of the power wire through out my ford ranger, very flexible too. Ground wire is a little to short but some say 3ft is about all you need to be safe. Good set of RCA cables too. Overall if your on a budget like i was then id go with this other than that if your looking for cheap stuff dont look for real real quality like this kit has without spending a little bit more than someones range of cheap 20$ wiring.

Don't believe these i----s. This is a great buy.
I bought this thing because it was cheap, so I was not expecting much, but this thing really did impress me. Everything I needed was included, and, most importantly, everything worked like it should've when I was done. I only had one problem with the install- the ring terminal they included was too small to fit on the 14 mm bolt I planned to use as a ground, so I had to drill it out, which took like 2 minutes.
Now, about the wiring (and this is the reason I'm writing this review): There are a number of reviews on here claiming that this isn't true 4 gauge. One dude even claimed it was 8 gauge. Whoever wrote those reviews has no idea what they're talking about. I seriously doubt that the guy who said it was 8 gauge has ever seen either 4 or 8 gauge wire in his entire life.
To make sure, I measured a piece with a pair of calipers and then compared it to the wiki page on AWG. Believe me, it's true 4 gauge. And in case you're wondering why I care so much, it's not because I'm affiliated with them in any way, it's because I liked their wiring so much, I actually ordered a 125 foot roll of it, and it upsets me when someone badmouths something I like for no reason.

Very nice...
Once I pulled this out of the box I was very impressed with the build quality, not surprised, but impressed none the less. Sub definitely needs to broken in, cone is very stiff when new. Sound is incredible, very clean, tight bass. Wouldn't recommend for those looking for wide, boomy bass. Although with the right equipment and box probably could fulfill those needs as well. Make sure not to under power, fairly power hungry. However, when powered right, very nice.

pretty good
These subs pound pretty good for the price, but you get what you pay for. if your on a budget then these would be a good choice. I would recommend these to anybody who is looking for a good sub at a decent price

Decent
For the money I have few complaints. I am used to larger subs(12-15) and this is not like those. The audible bass is loud and clean but its not shaking the car next to me. Which is what I was looking for when I bought only one of these. I installed it in a .6^2ft box and am happy to have most of my trunk back to being useable.

Underpowered and still kills
I have one of these in a sealed box at 2 ohms hooked up to an Alpine MRP-M500. The sub is a little bit underpowered but it still hits ridiculously hard. I am definitely going to get a second one of these. The value is amazing.... Similar Kicker and RF's are more expensive and don't have as good of specs. In my experience with Alpine, you'll get what you expect plus much much more.

Great mono amp for Price
This is one of the cheaper amps, but does rated or close to rated power. 60 amps of fuses for 450rms @2ohms. For people who complain about fuses popping and this amp not working, YOU ARE WIRING YOUR SUBWOOFER INCORRECTLY. Clearly not one ohm stable and some reviews I read people blame the amp. Know how to use your stuff. Great amp, gets any sub in the right enclosure loud.

Great value
The wire is decent, the fuse holder is average (you'll definitely want to zip tie the lid onto it), the RCA cable is average, and the installed terminals are average. I did have one issue with a set screw terminal shearing the 4 AWG wire. I simply tinned the end of the wire with a soldering iron and the problem was resolved. The price is below average, but the components are average or better, so it is still a great value. I would purchase this item again.

Install Bay 4 Gauge Amplifier Power Wiring Kit (AK4)
Not bad for a bargain amp kit. Does what it is suppose to do. Would Recommend.
18 found this helpful
Decent quality for the price
Does exactly what it was intended to do. If you have a low buck system it will do fine, but I don't think I would recommend it for anyone running a true 15-1600 watts. At 1500 watts the wires do get very warm after extended play time.

Install Bay 4 Gauge Amplifier Power Wiring Kit (AK4)
It’s a good product it was easy to install and I’m having very good times and good fun with it

Extremely Cheap 4ish Gauge Kit
The amp install kit came with all the materials stated on the website. The reason the kit is so inexpensive is that it isn't really 4 gauge. The wire its self is closer to 6-8 gauge and the jacket is actually 4 gauge. Being that the power wire is quite a bit smaller than true 4 gauge the fuse block barely works as the set screw isn't long enough to adequately pinch the wire without it falling through the hole. All together, if you are strapped for cash it's a good setup, but if you have the funds and quality is your concern, find a better product.

This kit has very nice quality wire I would even say oversized way worth the price

Not Bad For The Money
Bought this kit specifically to have some extra wires for my dual amp install and to run a big three upgrade in my Lancer. Worked perfect for that. Very flexible and easy to work with. Not a real 4awg wire, but it wasn't advertised as so and I already bought the install bay's dual amp kit so I wanted my wires to all sort of match. Perfect kit to upgrade my grounds a bit since I'm not running a high power system. Only con is the strand count seems a little low and the terminals provided with the kit seem cheaply made. Other than that, if you need a simple amp hookup, I would recommend this kit for the price!

Quality kit
I was happy with this kit, overall it worked fine. A few minor issues I noticed were. The true gauge of wire is 6, there is no speaker wire included so make sure you have enough to run from the amp to whatever your going to power and finally the gauge of the wire is just barely to small for the fuse holder the set screws run out of thread before the wire is held right. But all in all for the price it's good quality wire and the small issues can be resolved if your knowledgeable enough to find a couple things at your local parts house.

Not bad for the price
You get what you pay for. Not a bad kit. It is definitely not true 4guage.

Has it’s flaws
Everything works great except for the fuse holder , the terminals do not go tight enough to secure the power wire that came with the kit

Install Bay 4 Gauge Amplifier Power Wiring Kit (AK4)
Best deal on wire around, I would recommend this wire kit
15 found this helpful
Not 4 ga.
I bought this kit expecting the power wire to be a little smaller than actual 4 gauge. Which is ok because I didnt really need it. But I never imagined it would be as small as this. The actual wire is smaller than 8 gauge with a huge, thick insulation. If you're looking for a budget 4 gauge kit, go with the Belva kit. Its only an extra $5 but the wire is much thicker. I realize the Belva probably isn't standard gauge size either. But at least it is acceptable size for a budget kit. And certainly worth the $25. But this Install Bay kit is absolutely horrible

Decent product
To this point - I've only had the kit installed a short amount of time, the amp wiring kit is performing as expected. It included everything I needed and all parts appear to be of good quality. Of course, time will tell, but so far, so good.

Excellent wiring kit
I highly recommend this product, i was running 8 gauge wire until my fuse holder melted, this wiring kit is very nice although i wish it had a little better quality fuse holder.

Decent kit
Plenty of wire, everything worked, the fuse holder is pretty cheap though, the set screw is a bit small to hold the wire in place.

Great product for the price
Wasn't adding a huge system into my vehicle, but still wanted more then just a 8 gauge kit and this fit the bill. May not be true 4 gauge but seems plenty durable. Some say the fuse holder is flimsy and cheap but I have had no issues with it. Would definitely recommend to someone on a budget.

It's a decent amp kit for the price
I bought this kit because I was on a budget and didn't want to spend too much money. This kit is alright for the price you pay but I had trouble trying to connect the fuse, the screws it comes with the fuse wouldn't hold the power wire for some reason, so I ended up using a kicker fuse that my friend let me have, other than the fuse, every else was fine and this kit got the job done.

Works great!
I installed this amp over a month ago into an inclosed compartment in the back of a SUV. It has worked flawlessly without over-heating since. I really like the remote power control that comes with the unit too. It makes for easy volume control to the sub.

Very Impressed!
I have no complaints about Alpine subs. I have mine mounted in a self made sealed box. It hits hard and sounds smooth with the kind of metal music I like.

Great kit
This amp kit is true 4ga kit. Kit comes with nice RCA cable also. Hardware was a nice touch with everything needed to complete a clean amp install.

You get what U Pay 4
You get what you pay for, I knew I wasn't going to get a pro kit for @ $20 bucks but the description of the kit stated "4 Gauge " Power and Ground cables. I figured I would at least get a "6 Gauge " but according to the gauge chart it is an "8 Gauge ". And I know it isn't a 100% copper core it's is aluminum w/ copper coating but the kit will do is that I'm only running 500 watts on my amplifier, but if it would have been over that, the power cable will heat up and could cause damage. having said that kit is descent for small systems 500 watts or less but for higher systems I would recommend known brands with true gauge and solid copper core.

awesome amp
Great amp for the price. Love the bass control knob. I have it powering a 12" alpine type r. It is a liitle too big for concealment.

Wouldn't Recommend
This amp has had so many problems. When i first got it in October it worked great, it pushed my 12s hard. But after ten minutes of not even full power it heats up and goes into protect mode. And i have only heard it a few times since november because it doesnt work in the cold. This amp is terrible. Do not buy if you live anywhere where the temperature drops below 50 degress.

Great 10"
I have just one of these bad boys in a regular vented box paired with a Kenwood KAC-9105D and I get a very nice thump out of it. For the price, you get a great sub. I'm looking to pair it with another one in a custom band pass soon and expect mind numbing bass out of them as the Kenwood has power to spare. No problems with the amp or sub so far. This is a great sub.

excellent
I got a set of these to replace my old subs in my tuned slot ported box and they are louder than my old subs. My deck is a Alpine and the bass is all the way down (always-7) and subwoofer is on halfish (+6 out of 15) and the old subs hit 143db@46hz I hope these are hittin 150db I'll find out when I get them tested

its all aboit the box!
I just purchased and installed this sub in a 0.75 cu/ft sealed enclosure with a 500watt Alpine amp and it did squat. I then purchased the 101KPRO ported enclosure from Sonic. The bass now renders my rear view mirror useless due to the bass. This single sub/box combo sounds like a pair of twelves. Amazing!

Pretty much the first heavy artillery i put into my car, along with the momo speakers. Best value for a midrange subwoofer and that is saying a lot.

Great sound quality
I purchased 2 of these 10's (replaced 2 Kicker L5's) for trunk space mainly, and let me tell you the bass is very accurate from low volume all the way up the scale! NO JOKE! They sound better to me than the Kickers they replaced, and they are in very little (.50cuft. boxes). And yet they play the lows every bit if not better than the L5's. I have them hooked up to a Hiphonics BXI 2600 and this works flawlessly! I HIGHLY recommend.

Great sub! Buttt i prefer the older model 1042d
Excellent sub, as always. Can never touch the alpine type R subs with any other sub within $100 of the price of these. Although, I was slightly disappointed when I tried out this one after using the 1042d for a full year. Bass is not as tight or clean on this sub, I found some notes that it really couldn't play, and sounded bad on. Even after a full year of heavy usage I've yet to find a note the older model can't play amazingly well. Although, this sub does seem a bit louder, and power handling is improved, and mounting depth is shorter, it is more of a sidestep from the 1042 than an upgrade. (Note: I bought both subs brand new and used them in the exact same conditions to make the comparison). All in all, if this was the first alpine sub I bought for my car, i would have no complaints whatsoever. But considering I like the sound of the older model a little bit better, ill be switching back to that one.

The one to have in your trunk .
As with all alpine subs it totally slams .in my opinion it is the best bang for the buck.
16 found this helpful
Incredible
I didn't have the room for a 12" unit and I was concerned that I wouldn't get enough performance out of a 10" subwoofer. There is no need to worry, this monster will knock your rearview mirror off if you let it. Clear, clean, powerful bass that you can feel as well as hear. If you need more bass than this in a car you're insane.

This amp is not so bad pushes my 12" I've had no problems with even if its all the way up. only gone into protection mode once because it was a very hot day 100 degrees. and no air conditioning in the car.

Good enough to power smaller subs
I bought this to match up to my 12 inch Kicker CVR dual 4 ohm sub, wired to 2 ohm impedance. It was a decent sounding combination but after the amp began to overheat (despite the fact air is able to be around and go underneath the amp) I decided to upgrade to JL Audio

Deciding which sub started and ended with 2 ohm or 4 ohm
I knew it was going to be an Alpine Type R 10" sub. All I had to do was figure out the configuration I was going to be most comfortable with now and in the future and the dvc 4 ohm was the answer. I could have looked at other subs but Type Xs are expensive so I devoted more time figuring out the best ohm load.
My certainty on Alpine subs was matched by my knowledge of the vendor I eventually purchased from and that was Sonic Electronix fulfilling through A*****.
Claims of top customer service can be posted anywhere, said by anyone. Where the rubber hits the road is when you are the party seeking customer service and receiving customer service that you were never expecting. Sonic answered the bell when I needed to complete an RMA. Weighing the cost benefit of the possibility of running into a completely unexpected scenario always has you leaning towards Sonic. I like purchasing from them and I will do so again

This thing will blow my old pioneer premier pro out of the water. Was originally going to get two of these but after listening to one I was amazed at the accurate and distortion-less bass reproduction. I have all Alpine components in my truck including the head unit. This thing is loud!!! I have it hooked up at 2 ohms with 650 watts RMS

was great unitl...
It blew on me. I had two hooked up to a RF T-1000D, Birth sheet said 1102 @ 1 ohm. So slightly under powered. For three months it sounded great! Loud, clean, clear bass but one of them blew on me last night and the other one isn't in good shape. They were in a small sealed box because I have a mustang and dont want to spend 800$ for a custom install, so it's more so my fault than sub failure. A bit of advice make sure they're in a ported box so the voice coils dont burn up on you like mine did.

Awesome sound
I had a bottom of the line Polk sub before I got the Alpine (the Polk blew out pretty quickly) and there's really no comparison. The Alpine is much more punchy, hits higher notes more clearly, and sounds much better. I compare it to listing to music at high volume with some decent computer speakers (Polk) to being at the concert and really feeling the bass (Alpine). You feel much more of the music, which is one of the cool things about listening to a live band. Anyways, I've had this sub for several months now (I got an e-mail from sonic-electronix asking for a review) and am a true Alpine fan.

Alpine 10" Type R
I am reviewing the Alpine Type R. Overall the quality of the sub is great. Easy connections for speaker wire and solid frame. I have had an issue though and I'm not sure if I should blame it on the Sub or my amp. Originally I had 1 Type R hooked to a Kenwood 9104 at 4ohm so it was running 500 watts rms. The amp went into protect and when I swapped out the speaker it worked fine, so I figured it was a bad speaker. I bought 2 more Type R's and wired them at 1 ohm giving each sub 450w rms. After about a month, the same thing happened. The amp goes into protect mode. I worked with tech support and tested the speakers and they said they tested good and must be my amp. I am buying a Hifonics Brutus to run the subs. When I get that I will find out if it was the speakers or the amp.

Great Value
Some of my friends spent more than $135.00 for their amps. After hearing mine and what I spent, they wanted to hook it up to their subs. I let two try it. They were impressed with the output and wished they had known about the Jensen 900.

Not worth it
I bought this amp thinking that it would be good to power my 15' Kicker CVR. I wasn't looking for big bass but I wanted a little bit of punch.. It pushed it good at first (for like a week), then the fuses blew. Then I bought new fuses and they blew within an HOUR! I had 4 gauge wiring though. My guess is that I had too much power into this amp and it was trying to push a bada** speaker. I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking for awesome bass, but if you want to push a little 10" sub just to have a little boom or some 6x9's, then go for it.

I put 2 of these in my gfs car on a wal mart pioneer amp and they slam. they almost hit as hard as my two l7s but thats prolly cuz hers are in a ported box. everything in her car flexes and tha bass clarity you get from alpine is amazing.

great sub for the money
I have one of these 10" type-r's sitting in one of my cars getting about 400 watts rms from an alpine amp. For the money, this is a great amp. It can easily push 600 watts rms cleanly. I like that the 10" hits hard and precisely. Good clean sub bass. Would def recommend to all my friends.

Awesome subs!
These are awesome subs. HANDSDOWN!!! Hooked up to the ever so popular (for a reason) Hifonics BXI 2610D, and handle what this amp can give. I love them and quite sure you will too. The thing is, these are in the smallest(sealed) box possible for these subs(per specs. from Alpine), I can imagine how they would sound in a bigger ported box OMG! Try them out. For the price I feel they can't be beat.

Awesome Sub
This sub is awesome! I built a custom subwoofer box out of fiberglass to fit right in the side of my trunk of my 2007 civic. I originally wanted to power 2 of these subs with one Alpine MRP-M1000 amp. Didn't work very well for me. These can handle a lot of power. So I have one of these hooked up to that amp with the amp turned almost all the way up. Sounds better than when i had both hooked up. Overall very pleased and I have no complaints at all. Just can't wait to get another 1000 watt amp to power the other one i have :)

600 rms in a 10" sub
Just one 10" gets compliments from people who go for a ride in my truck all the time. they say it sounds better than their 12 sub. But thats the reason why i bought it, I like sound quality over spl, although it does offer spl if you use the enclosure dimensions that alpine recommends. Alpine's instructions include an optimal vented enclosure design that i am in fact using.
i most pleased to find a powerful sub for the price that is listed.

Buy Now!!!
Bought this and put it in a sealed box n they hit hard! Sound great and very clean! Broke them in for 2 weeks and then built them a custom ported box built to specs and man to they pound! They hit ridiculously hard and I mean hard not like when people have a kicker comp ams say it hits hard that's not hard at all! These speakers pound!!! I have them on an arc audio 1000rms amp and they love it! Pair these subs up with a ported box and quality amp and be ready to rattle u car apart and get alot of attention! Had L5s, W3s, CVRs, cliff designs, cerwin vegas all 10s and all on the same amp and the type Rs are deff the best!!!!!!!

Ridiculous bass for only a single 10"
I got this older model Type-R and figured i'd give it a shot. I wanted to do it right and figured i could outhit my friends two twelves, so i put this ten into a ProBox 110SPB and it definitely did the job. I'm only running 400 watts rms from an Alpine MRP-M450 and it still hits harder than two twelves. The low notes player so clear and the bass is just amazing without having to empty out my wallet.

Decent Amp for the price.
This is a decent low level amp, but now into summer I am having much trouble with the amp overheating BEFORE I even get into the car. If my car sits in the sun for an hour or two, the amp will not power up the sub, goes into a safe mode.
Mostly this does not bother me since I usually have my car in the garage or under covered parking, but for anyone who parks in the sun often I would not recommend this amp. Save your money for a brand name amp.

Very Good Sub for the price
I have one of these in a chevrolet astro van, and since its only a ten i was doubting it, but was i wrong. This thing pounds, of course i made a box probably around 3 cubic feet, but this thing is nice, especially for the price. Alpine always has good things anyways so i decided to try it out, i used to have a type e but its not comparison for the lows. My box is ported and i have one in the astro and it will make the roof rack jump and make all the doors rattle. Not sure about the sealed box, tried but didnt like the sound. A VERY GOOD BUY. always check the ohms before you hook it up though.

What it really is...
The RMS rating is a "little" false. I put one Type-r 10 in an eclipse competition bandpass box... played it for two hours low volume and cranked it for about 20 seconds..... bang, left my daytona's hatch in a cloud of smoke. im not sure how. i was only powering it off of a sony 800w max 2 channel amp. But I'm sure if you had at least 2 of these, and didn't slam them on a constant basis you would be just fine. THESE THINGS HIT HIGHS LIKE NO OTHER. i would strongly recommend a sealed box. dont push more than 350w to a 10 or problems may occur. (from personal experience)

Pro: Kills for the price, and can take a beating if wired properly.
Con: Let you know when I find one, and it's almost been a year.

Awesome sound quality
Got these in a week and breaking them in but man, the sound that comes from these are the best I've heard so far. I have had everything from L7s to MTX and almost everything else in the middle but these are the best sounding to me anyways. Before my car used to shake but now it rattles and I just can't get over the sound quality.I've only had these up to maybe 300 rms but I have a mrp-m2000 (overkill) on the way and I know it's going to be awesome. If you are looking for a great sounding sub from low to high volumes this is it. Sonic had them for the cheapest that I've seen.

I have 2 of these lil guys wired down to 1 ohm and they pound. I run them for long periods of time before on 3/4 volume and they dont get hot at all they barely get warm. I have come very close to breaking my back window in my truck, if I have them too loud. If you want a small sub that can hit hard and last forever this is one of the best.

Placed one SWR-1043D in a 1 sq/ft sealed box at the very back passenger side corner of my 240sx hatch. I am feeding it about 500W/rms with a Kenwood KAC-8105D. It really beats!! 1800W Alpine Subwoofer + Jensen Amplifier Bass Bundle
I ordered this kit on Friday Jan 13th 2012 and received it on Saturday Jan 14th. These guys are incredible with shipping! The boxes was very well packed inside a larger box filled with shipping peanuts.
I had the chance to install this the same day since it came very early. The sub sounds amazing, I think the Amp and Sub combo were very well paired together.
I installed this in my 2007 A4 with a custom side mounted box for the trunk. The bass is smooth and crisp with no distortion. The fact that you can wire the sub control in reach of the driver seat is also convinant. I listen to a plethora of different types of music, and when I want the bass up or down it's just a reach away with a few clicks to the perfect setting.
Will defiantly be buying from this company in the future. Good job guys.
