Loud, Cool, and Clean

Pros: Class D (Runs Cool), Small, Clean, Powerful. Louder than you can stand and no distortion. Good built-in crossover with DBO.

Cons: Cops apparently don't like your stereo to be louder than their sirens...

Opinion: Everyone thinks their equipment is the best and after spending so much time researching all the different models I can say I am very happy with my amp. Infinity gear is top notch, they are geared toward accurate music reproduction and true fidelity. This amp is a perfect match for the Kappa speakers as they are 2 ohm.

Notes: Another review stated that the power terminals are unprotected...Not true, they are encased in clear plastic and are not a risk for sparking.

Equip: JVC KW-AVX820, Kappa Five, Kappa 693.9i, Kappa 60.9cs, 2 Farad Cap... Haven't decided on the Sub...

CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF MY NEW KAPPA FIVE

I installed the Kappa Five on my sailboat in the main salon (it replaced my old Reference Series 5761a). It powers 4 sets of speakers throughout the boat (through separate Niles volume controls) and 2 subwoofers in the main Salon. Performance is absolutely superb (the water ripples abound the boat). The installation was clean & simple. The Sonic Electronix support staff guided me through the one question I had & they were just great. The only problem I have is I don't have enough time to spend on-board GUSTO II to enjoy my new Kappa Five. Thank you for a great product at a great price with outstanding customer support. Be assure that I will look to Sonic Electronix for all my future stereo needs.

Great Amp

Excellent 5 channel sound, very compact and even after an hour of hard use was only warm.

Finest sound quality

I have this amp for 4 months now, there I have connected a pair of Infinity Reference 6030cs and a pair of Infinity Kappa 62.9I, with an Alpine CDE-154BT, I started with a single Kicker TCVT82 (10TCVT82) and the bass was just OK, then I bought here another pair of Infinity Reference 1062W installed in a sealed box, with just one bass speaker was an amazing sound.... the sound is the best quality for the price, very good sound balance and quality, very good noise suppression.

Infinity Cappa Five

Best Bang for your money, does the job quit well, I have for 4 months and performs flawless. When I listen load music it runs hot but no problems.

Worked great until?

I have 2 of these units that i bought 10 months ago. One is in my car and the other in my son's car. Mine is still working great and his went out causing the speakers to squil. He was always adjusting his (teenager) but he did know what he was doing. I got mine set the way I like it and had no issues.
We are running kappa 4oms speakers/sub with a rockford head. Make sure that you put spacers (1/4" min) between the unit and what you are mounting it to or it will overheat. The techs with Sonic helped me order the system and helped me with hook up. So far with the return of my son's amp they have been very courteous and helpful. I havent recieved the replacement yet. So this review may change if it doesn't go smoothly. Overall i would recommend the whole Kappa line.

Output issues with the RCA's

The build quality of the amp is excellent. I may have just got a defective item. 2 of the channels for the speakers do not put out their full potential power. I have tried switching rca's and I even bought a new deck and new speakers because I thought the outputs were messed up on my Panasonic deck. Come to find out, putting all of that new equipment in did nothing. It has been the amp the whole time. But who would have known? It's a "new" amp. The two channels that actually worked sounded great paired with some rockford T1 components. I would suggest this amp if you can get one that works.

HQ Amp

Not the loudest amp on the market but it certainly will give you high fidelity sound. If you want to have monster thump look elsewhere, if you want to have studio sound this is the amp

DOA

i bought this amp for my F150 there were certain features that i liked . Like tuning from the top side , amp came in DOA, upon hooking up it sparked like a stick welder , that was the first hint , then i turned amp on and it went into protect mode, and buzzing from speakers , i shot it off and it never came back on , might have been good but i dont have time to keep swapping amps to see witch one works and for how long , i was afraid for a minute it might have blown my speaker all new including sub, including correct wiring, sonix has been very good they did take it back but i did not up for the same amp, i went Kicker CX600.5, A/B-D tech , same foot print , and i believe more reliable but did not get it yet when i do i will right a review. This Infinity amp is a great value and has lots of features but based on my experience durability would be the most important aspect , excluding sound quality that is also at the top of the tier.

Caveat emptor

This is NOT 12 gauge wire. The insulation is nice and thick, and it appears (from the outside) to be 12 gauge, but once you strip the insulation and compare it to actual 12 gauge wire, you will see. What you're getting is closer to 14 or 16 gauge wire. Whether or not it's OFC remains to be seen.

If you want 12awg wire, look elsewhere. The jacket on this wire is huge, and the wire itself measures only about 0.05" on my calipers - almost exactly what 16awg wire measures. No wonder it's so cheap. My Stinger 12awg wire measures about 0.08" on my calipers.

That said, it's a decent deal even for 16-ga wire, just know that's what you'll be getting.

Like everyone says, its not true 12 awg. But for a 100 feet for 16 dollars its still a great deal. I wouldn't recommend using these to wire subs but its great for mids and highs. note: stuff isn't too flexible, but its very usable

Exactly as the title says. Great price for a good product, plain and simple.

Shipping was quick as well.

Safety Issue - not yet installed

The power and speaker connectors are not insulated. They are exposed and stick out significantly from the amp. The power connector sticks out at least one inch with the 4/0 AWG adapter. I don't have to tell anyone what would happen if a metal object were to contact the power connectors. Yes, the power wire is fused with a 100 amp fuse, but there will still be a lot of sparks on the way up to 100 amps, and some damage.

The other amps I've seen have insulated power and speaker connections. The Kappa Five will require me to fabricate some type of insulating cover to protect all the exposed (and hot) connectors.

Wish I would have paid better attention to that before ordering. My bad. This amp may work well for your installation, but be warned about the exposed connectors and take appropriate action to protect it.

I'll post a further review of operation & reliability if I decide to keep it, if that's possible.

Maybe it doesn't matter so much, but I'm a former aircraft electrician for 20 years in the Navy. I've seen plenty of sparks fly with a lot less current. If I keep this amp, you can bet those connectors will be shielded, and good.

The "2" rating for the design is for the connector issue alone. With insulated connectors, I would give the design a five and bump the other ratings up at least one point.

Does the Trick

While it may not be true 12 guage it works well and transfers signal perfectly. I was looking for some for my garage speakers so this is better than what was on them by far. I do have two 70s era SPX-7000 Sansui speakers which benifit from the thicker guage like this and for anything other than your big main speakers it will work fine unless you have huge speakers besides your main towers in your system. They fit nicely into my dimondback connectores and for even my monsters angled twist on connectors.

I ordered this roll of 100feet 12 gauge wire when i got it in the mail and opened it up I notice that the wire is not really 12 gauge more like 16 gauge. the insulation is thick makes you think its 12 gauge. but its not.....I guess you get what you pay for. still a good price for even if the 12 gauge wire is really 16 gauge wire underneath the thick insulation

Great Kit

This is a great kit. I worked in car audio at a shop for years and always prefered the stinger kits. The wire is flexible and very thick. This is a good quality kit.

Excellent Wire

Really great wire. I used it to replace all of my stock wire in my install. it's nice and think, very good insulation. It's not the flashy, colored stuff, but for my install, 99% of the wire is hidden. And best of all, it sounds great. I would highly recomend, especially for the price.

Great Simple Wiring

This wiring is super affordable, its a real value deal. It is super effective as a conductor for your speakers and it is often also the same wiring used for in-home speaker hookup.

If you are looking for some bragging rights this wiring is exactly there for the looks it is simply for the purpose of conducting electricity for speakers. The jacket is not circular it is more of a rounded rectangle.

Still using it in my car to hook my amplifier to my 2-12" Fosgate's this wiring gets the job done and has worn well.

Can't beat it!

If you're looking for some speaker wire for mids and highs look no farther. The wire itself isn't crazy beefy but its more than enough for mids and highs, I wouldn't go using it for subs or anything. For 16 bucks for 100 feet you simply cant beat it. I put all new speakers in my car and had tons left over. Plus its marked really well so its easy not to get the positives and negitives mixed up. Can't beat sonic's prices!

purchased the stinger 4 gauge kit to power up my kenwood amp and i couldn't be happier. The kit comes complete with terminal ends, tie wraps and even a plug to install between the wire and the raw metal on the firewall.The power wire is thick but bends easy. Great finished ends.

Like other reviews, this "Wire" is Maybe a 14agw thickness, definitely not a 12agw as you guys are selling it, but for the price it is okay. But, if anyone is looking for a REAL 12agw, do not buy this. Look for a "Name" Brand.

Sounds very clean

Installed my crown Victoria pushing 4 Polk db 6x8 and one jl 10w1 in a slot ported box.Amp sounds really clean and eliminated a lot of noise common with crown Vic's.The 200 watt sub channel is fine for my JL ,punches well and I even turned it down a little with my eq.The settings are pretty simple and straight forward my only complaint is the lack of gimmicks like light up logos and such but it is a solid piece.I would recommend this amp especially for the price (black Friday) coupon.

I bought these subs as my first subs that I have ever had. I'm only running 125 RMS into each one (I have 2) and they bump pretty good. I'm getting a 2 channel 250 RMS amp when I get more money but I already the amp I'm using right now (yes I know they subs are being underpowered but they still bump). My friends have 2 12 inch subs with double the RMS mine have and I still hit harder. Recommend these to anybody.

Good for the Price

For the price, the cable as no serious flaws. This is a cheap cable for a cheap price. It has better construction than other run of the mill cables and not as good as big names like Monster. The purpose of a cable is to deliver the music signal cleanly to the amp without noise from the vehicle, it does that. However, I had to pinch in the ground lugs to maintain a tight connection, no big deal but like I said not the quality of a Monster cable OR the price of a Monster cable.

i bought 2 of these, they sound good when tuned right, i got them hooked up to just above 600W rms through a ssl 1500w mono amp. there are a lot louder sounding subs out there but for the price, i was shocked. the only weird thing is, is one broke in more than the other one did, so it hits the backing plate before the other sub is so i have to turn it down just for the one. but overall great product and i would recommend these to anyone wanting a good deal

Great value and quality construction

While there are certainly more expensive "big name" brand RCA's on the market, I haven't found one that was a better value than the Tsunami's. Great looks, great reliability and great performance for the money. Maybe there are people out there that can hear the difference between these and a set that cost $100 more, but I'm not that guy....

This sub is a SINGLE 4 ohm voicecoil so be careful when purchasing a single one of these and an amplifier. However if you purchase two they can wired down to 2 ohms (prefered) and almost all mono amps can easily run at 2 ohms. other than that great quality subwoofer

Great sound - durability issues

I bought these as part of a package for my Son for Christmas and they installed easy, sounded great but one blew within 3 months. We weren't pushing a lot of power at the time, they just seem to be for people who want great sound quality at lower volumes. I wouldn't buy them again.

I have 4 of these and 1 JL Audio w3 15" and it hits hard. Get four of these and you should out bump almost any 2 12's. Still have not found a system that comes close

Very surprised

I actually got 2 of these subs in a trade. They're in a sealed box and I currently have them hooked up to a 1200 watt Sony xplode 2-channel amp. They pound pretty hard and are very clear. They hit the highs well as well as the deep lows. I would suggest these to anyone whose on a budget. They also sound pretty good inverted and look really cool.

As most have said, it's not 12 gauge closer to 14 but, it's very flexible and perfect for door speakers without spending a fortune. Good cheap speaker wire!

Great sound for the price

I got one of these from a friend after he upgraded his system. even hooked up to a low-end VR3 amp, it sounds GREAT!
Very little distortion unless I turn the stereo all the way up, but I haven't set the gain on the amp yet. For a smaller sub it really pushes the bass.

i replaced my cheapo rcas with this for my 4 channel eclipse amp. have the front 2 channels running a pioneer component set and the rear 2 channels bridged running a pioneer champion series pro 12. i listened to my system befor i hooked these RCA's up and after. i can def say i noticed a huge diffrence in sound quality. even better imaging from my component set. these are very well worth the bucks sonic is asking. for being a cheaper pair of RCA's i love them. and ill keep on using them too! stop reading and buy them!!

Great product for the price!

I originally wanted the Pioneer TS-W253R sub since my deck is a Pioneer DP6000 and my amp is a Pioneer Pioneer GM-3300T to keep it all the same brand (for no apparent reason really..) but the one I wanted was out of stock so I got this sub instead. I'm very pleased with the performance, it sounds great in my hatchback. I have the gain just under the normal setting on the amp and wow, its a nice clean sound and hits decently hard. The box I ordered from Sonic had a little chip on one side probably happened during shipping but a little super glue made it look un-blemished. Thanks Sonic, I will be a return customer for sure on my next project.

Very weak speakers. Bought through a package deal on this site. One speaker blew out within a month at normal volume levels. They are not very loud speakers nor can they handle much power at all. They bottom out very easily making a lovely metallic twang. If you are looking for something to fill in some of the lows in your music these would work. If your looking for something to POUND in your car then avoid these. You will break them.

Good Value

I bought this enclosure to audition several 10" subwoofers. I eventually made a fiberglass enclosure for my permanent set-up. Build quality is good - especially for under $20. This is why I decided to buy instead of making one.

The only issue that I ran into is that the cut out measures 9". Of the 6 subwoofers that I tested, none of them fit the enclosure, they all measure 9.25-9.35". Not too big of a deal though, a simple cut with the jigsaw took care of it. The carpet is of decent quality, I would have wanted to see a thicker, higher quality version though, but I suppose at this price point, bare MDF is fine.

The preinstalled poly-fill is probably worthless in most installs as its way too thin to make a difference. I ended up adding about 1/2lb of fill in addition to it preinstalled fill.

It has a nice box terminal, although I'm not a big fan of the screw in type (I prefer spring terminals). But again, I cant complain much as the price is so reasonable.

Finally, the silly "Absolute" badge fell off within a day of use, I think I would have pulled it off regardless. The badge is tacked in with small nails which does not go all the way through the enclosure (thankfully).

Overall a great item at an unbelievable price. Its probably worth more then the $17.00 that I paid for it.

These RCA's are BEEFY. They look great and save you the trouble of running an extra set if your connecting a 4 channel amp. Very nice design and very clean looking. I would definitely use these again.

When i saw this i was skeptical and i read reviews and the majority of em were good so i went ahead and ordered it and some matching speakers for mids and highs and i was very impressed. My gf had a lanzar before i got her this and this one sound soo clean on every note. good price and fast shipping from SE.

Good for bass response

Dont listen to the other peoples reviews. I have been around car audio forever. I have been affiliated with Auto Sound Lab and they say that these subs have excellent bass response and hit hard for a ten inch woofer. The only thing that i had problems with were the voice coils. I ripped them on the center coil. This was due to not letting the subs break in before high volumes. 500 watts rms is a perfect power limit.

Very convenient and great quality!

The Tsunami brand RCA's are a great value for the quality you get and having a 4 channel RCA in a single length of cable makes install easier, cleaner and less likely to be interfered with. I've now used them in two different installs and will again. I've used much more expensive RCA's before, but haven't found any that are this good at this price.

Let the truth be told...

I'm not sure if to laugh or cry, but against my better judgement, and the previous reviews, I went ahead and ordered this wire. Actually for price it is not a bad deal.

The package and product description says OFC, but the print on the wire jacket says CCA. According to my scale the 100 ft length of wire weighs 2.75 lbs.

In a direct comparison to 12 gauge Kord Speaker Kable by Knu (I bought for my subs), this is about half as thick. I would go out on a limb and claim that this is infact16 gauge speaker wire with heavy duty insulation.

As to the issue of OFC or CCA, this is anyone's guess. I wish Sonic would properly research a product before promoting.

Good 4 ch. wire

Bought this for long runs to amp from HU. Got quality and good connectors. Didn't get any alternator whine or cross talk. It worked real well for 4 ch. amp install.

A good setup for a 4 channel amp

I used this for my 4 channel amp, and I don't regret it. Easy to run the cable around in the car, the connectors have a nice sturdy feel to them, and it looks nice without being to "blingy". Sounds good, no noise.

nice interconnect

The bundle of all four cables made routing a breeze to my 4ch amp. The jacket had a nice tacky feel, easy to manipulate. Sounds as great as any TWP interconnect.
