Amazing sound!

Replaced a pair of Hertz Esk 165’s for these Alpines & they are by far the best components I’ve ever heard!

I wondered what the type x components would be like having had 3 sets of type r components for years and let me tell I am very glad and excited that I upgraded to the two sets I just purchased here ... if you had type r you should try the type x

Great sounding much like the old type x pro set

Sounds very similar to the type x 6.5 pro set it replaced which is 8 or so years old. powered off an alpine f4 amp. they rock. bass is a little light, but I contribute that to the pisspoor door pods I have. will be changing that soon tho. overall good comp set for the daily setup or some comps. I won't compare them to my morel elite 3-way set I have but for under $600, they are nice!

Not as good as I had hoped

For such an expensive speaker along with it being from Alpine my hopes were high. The bass from these is nice but the vocals and highs are lacking clarity and become distorted at higher volumes. My Alpine R2-S65C speakers that I previously had installed honestly sounded much better. They could handle the high volumes without distortion and loss of anything really. Probably going to switch brands and see what Focal has to offer.
