Great subwoofer

This subwoofer has amazing bass for a shallow mount plus it's has a well built frame.

Great

Installed this in a custom sealed box in my 350z and it sounds great. I had the old, thicker 12" Type R and this sounds just as amazing. I even installed this in the worst location (the compartment behind the driver's side seat in the 350z) and it still sounds awesome. Can't even beat the price anywhere else.

Blows easy

I bought this subwoofer a year ago and put it in my truck with the alpine pdx-m6. Both units run at 600w rms and I somehow blew the sub the same night. Granted my wiring might have been the problem. I then upgraded some wires and got another one. (No warranty) this then sounded great and was honestly a wonderful sub! I had it in a down firing box under my seat and if you stood outside of the truck you couldn't hear any obnoxious bass. But inside the truck everything vibrated crazy! But then it blew randomly one night at sonic, without being turned up. These shallow mount subwoofers aren't able to take the abuse as a regular subwoofer and although it sounds good the reliability isn't there.

Good sub

I had this sub installed in a 06 f150 supercrew under my back seat. This is a good sub and it sounded great. However for the price(currently 309.00) and the single voice coil config, I would recommend something else. I currently own a 2011 supercrew f150 and for the price of 1 of these subs, I was able to purchase 2 skar audio vd-10(10") subwoofers and a box for under the back seat. I must say these 2 dvc 10" subs have more wiring options than the Alpine. They also blow the single 12" away. Using an online port calculator I ported my current enclosure to around 35 hz and they sound incredible. They shake my truck like the Alpine never could. The point I am trying to make is that while Alpine has a great product, I believe that for the price, there are a lot more options out there. All it take is some patience and a little research.

Nice lil sub

Very happy with this product. Good for small spaces and surprisingly loud. Could not really fault this product. Perfect for what I wanted.

Solid Sub

Bought this sub to go in my truck due to lack of space. I have had Type R 12"s before and they sounded great. Props to Alpine for getting it right on the shallow mount. I have heard several shallows, and none compare. Just one in a small box hits pretty hard, it won't blow your mind but its a good sub. I would not pay what other places charge for this woofer, some up to 500, but for what its listed for here its a great deal when space is an issue. I will say the box and power are very important. I had it in a .4 cubic foot box and it sounded terrible, switched to a .75 box and it made a world of difference. Give it at least 500 watts rms too, trust me it needs it. Also, make sure to get a grill, although its constructed very well the cone will take dents very easily.

Great but be careful

Had these in a sealed box, the box cracked and they took some damage from that but they played on. Both blew about 6 months after owning them of hard playing. Ordered 2 more now if these blow again ill probably switch To something different but overall i like em. They hit hard enough for shallows. I have them wired to 2.3 ohm in series. They dont drop as much as they should and so they dont get as much power from my amp as they should. This brand new one i just got rattles when it plays already. But still plays fine.

Very clean bass

I am very pleased with the performance of this sub. I was skeptical about how good it would sound compared to a regular 12" and it totally exceeded my expectations. I am running it with an '10 Apline PDX M6. I built the enclosure to manufacturers volume recommendations and it's perfect.
I had to custom build a funky shaped box to fit behind the back seats of my '09 Tacoma double cab. I went to a few car audio shows and have by far the highest SPL Tacoma in Edmonton with an OEM style system (no huge box in the cab)

As long as your enclosure volume is correct you will love this sub.

Great shallow sub!!

I bought this sub to go in my 08 Tundra. When I started my audio build I initially went with the Rockford P3 10' shallow sub, then upgraded to the P3 12', and finally to this sub. This sound undoubtibly sounds better that both of the previous subs, it will really handle the lows alot better than I expected. And right now I only have and MRP 500 pushing it. I am not even sure I will upgrade the amp it just sounds and pounds so good now. It is a little $ but you get what you pay for, and out of all the shallow subs I have heard this one is the cleanest, tightest, most accurate I have heard.

ALPINE SWR-T12

The slimline Subwoofer has a nice sleek design and it sounds great. I also liked the service that sonic Electronics provided to me here in Australia, very reasonable shipping cost for an item this size. Thank you. CH

Sounds great

I had 3 of these installed in my dodge 1500.
The sound is unbelievable. I have a Rockford
Amp pushing them all in a series with a 1 ohm load
Would defiantly recommend.

Nothing else compares

WOW!! I must say that alpine did it again! This shallow mount sub is by far the best i have heard! If i didnt no that they were shallows, i could swear the sound like reg 12s. Dont settle for anything else!

Good Sub!!

I have an f 150 supercrew. I have the alpine in an enclosed box underneath the seat with an alpine m500 powering it. The speaker hits hard. It rattles my rear view mirror. The range is pretty good, but it doesn't hit as low as my old 12" kicker cvx. However it's compact design eliminates a big box on my back seat, and I love that. Overall, I love this sub. A definite bonus addition to replace big bulky boxes sliding around the back seat.

Great Sound!! Not Long Lived!!

I got one of these T-12 for my 07 chevy crew cab. Built a custom ported box too Alpine specs to fit behind the back seat. I'm running it with a Kicker ZX1000.1 (4ohms 500watts rms). I have had it for less then six months and it is dead "internal meltdown"!! It had awesome sound, hard hitter, feel it in your chest!!! When it went i was not even playing it loud. This is the only sub i have ever blown. I've had Kicker & JL. Hope this helps somebody in the future.

Great Sub

I bought this sub 6 months ago and put it behind the seat in my Dodge Ram 1500 standard cab truck and it pounds so hard. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to get a lot of sound and power out of such a thin sub.

Not bad for a shallow sub

Very well built thin/shallow sub. If your restricted to needing a shallow sub this is one of the best out there. Very clean in a sealed enclosure for one 12" at roughly .72 ft3.

Not as much output as a regular sub so keep that in mind. Worth the money if you have to go this route.

Rocks!

It's the slim design of course - fits right under the seat in it's enclosure in my pickup. But I also wanted a sub that provided clear reproduction without being boomy. This Alpine meets its traditional fame for doing just that. I listen to a broad range of genres and this sub is perfect for everything from classical to prog rock.

Expensive and not worth it

I purchased two of these for my new tundra to hide under the rear seat. I have them powered with a 1500 watt rms Rockford fosgate amp. Set to 50% gain. After about 15 min of playing them hard they both blew. I have been going through warranty for months trying to get them back. I have owned kicker solo baric, JL W3, and Rockford Fosgate P3' subs and they were all louder than these alpines and cheaper. Keep in mind they werent't shallow mount but I am very disappointed I have only gotten 15 min of play for over $1000. I would never recommend these subs to anyone!

Great Sub

I have owned many subs through the years, even with being a slim, it hits harder than most full depth subs and has great response. I have burned out two of them so buy the warranty, was running with a PDX-M6 amplifier.

i had a set of these i bought for my truck. put them in a sealed box. they worked great UNTIL. magic smoke happen. well i found out about clipping and was trying to prevent it from happening. 40hz for 5 mins is a bad thing. lol yep i messed up. but while they were working i really enjoyed these just break them in. tune your amp correctly these will last you a great while with some great performance.
