My New Default IEM's
First, kudos to Sonic Electronix for the special price on the IDX200IE's, which would be worth the money at the MSRP of $199 but were a category killer at the special "put in cart to see price" amount. On to the review...I've been using the Sony MDR-EX650's most days over the last few years when taking the dog for the daily walk, and I would still recommend them as an outstanding value for anyone who is spending under $100. However, the IDX200IE's are a significant step up across the board...the same slightly exaggerated base, but more impactful and tighter, greater clarity from top to bottom, pristine mids and highs, and decent soundstage. And on days I decide to do without a mic/remote, when my first choice at one time would have been to pull out the VSonic GR07's, I find myself reaching for the IDX200IE's instead. What more can I say? Sonic Electronix has a generous return policy, but my bet is that if you buy these, you won't want to give them up.
