better than i expected.
so.. we all know cadence use to be GREAT....but what about these new amps?
my alpine PDX 1.1000 (first gen) up and died on me for no reason...turned car off, working fine... an hour later got back in, no bass. internals look brand new, nothing blown..... no idea
anyway.... i only wanted about 800w rms....cheap amps might not give rated power..but i just something to give power to my 400 bucks worth of paper weights in the truck...till i get something nice
seen this for 180 bucks.....had to buy it.
but im getting the full 1200w RMS and then some....my 2 type Rs 1222ds hit WAY HARDER than my PDX did.
it gets the cones MOVING....the car vibrates more...everything
however... the remote gain knob is a little cheap...it works... but its cheap.
i question the life of this amp.... i may replace all the caps with quality ones (not sure if they have quality brands in their...but for 180 bucks, id say they arnt the best..havent took the amp apart yet)
like i said... this is a "temporary" replacement for my PDX 1.1000
1 year and 800ws is all i needed...but im 80% sure ill get more than that.
ive only owned it for 1 day.... but everything works as advertised...
im REALLY happy with this amp.
if it lives for years and years (like my eclipse 3640... built in the USA in 1999) i dont see a need to replace it.
GREAT punch.... just as good/better sound quality (the PDX rolled off HARD past 50 hertz..thats how they made them so small)
damn i really like this amp.

this amp gives my Soundstream R3.12 a hell of a workout. It does seem to get a little warm at times but never overheats. I'm thinking about purchasing another one of these amps and a second sounstream R3.12. You can't beat the Cadence Phoenix performance to price ratio.
