I have these in all the doors of my ford escape powered by a rockford fosgate punch 400×4. With Pac bass blockers on them all and the mids and highs sound great. Definitely worth the money

Had to try them

At a dance club many years ago a rich thundering sound was created by four small Cerwin Vega speakers. Very loud and clear for such small speakers in such a large room. I said to myself I would buy some for myself some day. My stock Ford pickup speakers were poor so when I found these I decided to keep a promise to myself. My receiver is a bit complicated JVC so dialing them in took a few days. But now, I take the long way EVERYWHERE! These are the bomb and for the price, unbelievable! Rival much more expensive speakers I have heard.

Nice Speakers

I bought the Cerwin-Vega V-468. They came packed extremely well, appearance was pleasing having the signature red surrounds. They seem to have a crossover for the low frequency driver presumably to block lower frequencies. The response is rated down to 60 hz. They play well paired with a sub but may be lacking in the low end if used without one.
The sound from these speakers is excellent all around nice crisp highs without being harsh. Mids make voices come alive with excellent imaging. They also worked well with the factory head unit and amp most likely because of their high sensitivity.
The fit was ok in a 5x7 opening in a 2006 Explorer however I needed the baffles that were recommended by Sonic to have the proper back spacing (they hit the window track slightly without them). Otherwise they would need a spacer behind them.
So to sum it up, for the money, they are a well built speaker that sound excellent, not to mention they look pretty bad ass!!!

Speakers fit great and sound much better than the stock originals did. I did not have to drill any additional holes so the fit was great. I plan on adding sound deadening to my truck later this summer, at that time I will buy another set of speakers to replace the rear set in my truck. Well worth the money and great buy.

The Cerwin Vega V468 speakers sound great. Much better than stock. The fit was excellent with no need to drill any additional holes. I plan on adding sound deadening to my truck later this summer. At that time, I plan on replacing my rear speakers with another set of these to match the front. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Used these to replace my 6x9s in the trunk. These 6x8s sound like better than the 6x9s! Word of advice don’t be afraid to try new brands.

This is the best 6x8 speaker. I have ever heard. They are clear as a bell. I both two of these to go in my Ford five hundred work car. An now I'm going to put two more sets in my Lincoln Navigator. Buy these you won't be disappointed.

High quality sound

These speakers need an amp, I’m running 75 watts rms to each speaker, four of them in a 2004 f250, in the front I have a boom mat behind them, these speakers absolutely scream with quality, so crisp, so clear, and loud. Same qualty sound to a higher priced speaker with a mid level price

The sound quality of these speakers is incredible. I used these in the front doors of a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT. In order to clear the window they had to be shimmed 0.5" and also remove the (cosmetic) rubber cover around the magnet. I didn't try to fit them in the rear doors but I doubt they would have fit without shimming. I'm running a pair of Kicker CSC68 in the rear and the Vegas sound much better, especially on the low end.

I've had over 15 different systems in my lifetime that I've installed never once have I had a problem like this I've always steered clear of Cerwin Vega now I know why they dropped it over half price I have my amp set at half on all dials I was only listening at half volume if that all sudden pop pop pop 3 out 4 is bad... These are overrated on power handling I spent all day doing this right and I'm more than disappointed

I bought a pair last month for my 2006 ford f-150, they fit perfectly, powerful clear sound, no distortion, my truck came with the stock components for the speakers, and stock 8" subwoofer under the back seat, and it sounds amazing, I order another pair of cerwing vega 6×8 speakers, for the front doors, I recommend this speakers %100, I was so excited, that I forgot

If looks could kill…

I had a pair of these in the rear and the 6.5 inch version in the front of my vehicle. They are hands-down some of the most attractive speakers I’ve ever seen, with the classic orange surround that Cerwin Vega is known for. I had them running Off of a Dual branded head unit initially, getting 15 watts RMS and they sounded pretty dang good. But after I amplified them, that’s when they really came alive. I had them on an Alpine amp producing around 50watts RMS per channel, and I was absolutely blown away with how loud it could get without any distortion! After I added 2 10” subwoofers on 600w RMS, it was definitely the best sounding set up I’ve ever owned over my years of having different vehicles. Maybe it was because I had it installed in a Ford Focus ZX3 hatchback, which was a very tiny car with a tiny interior, but whichever the case, it sounded so incredibly awesome that I sure wish I still had it!!
