extremely happy

i bought these to replace some Digital Designs 3518s i had in a blow through box i built in a truck. I feed them with a dc 5k amp running 4 xspower d3400 batteries and a dc 370a alternator. if you have the proper electrical these will swallow up to 3000k rms each easily. Dont believe the negative comments these are great for the price.
Plus who powers their 500 dollar sub with a 200 dollar mb quart amp lol

Proceed at your own risk

First off Sonicelectronix has the BEST customer service. They have replaced two of these junk a$$ woofers for me so far for burned coils. DC says they handle 2200RMS, but there is NO WAY in Hades! I have put them in several different enclosures and they do not handle the power. I bought 4 of them to go in my van. Have 3 in my van in a ported enclosure tuned to 35Hz with 1400 watts RMS/each-CLAMPED on my Term Lab Magnum-unclipped. Tuned amp with oscilloscope function on Term Lab. They will play for about 30 seconds to a minute before I start smelling the voice coils overheating. I put the 4th 18 in my little car in a 6th order on an MB Quart ONX1.2000D at 1-ohm. Again plays for around a minutes before voice coils start to overheat. Been into car audio heavily for 25 years, so I am not a "newbie". The woofers sound very good. They are loud. However, if you are looking for a woofer that will take some power, look elsewhere. A lot of money wasted on my end, but that is my fault for buying 4 of these right off the jump. Thanks for taking care of me Sonic! Will be buying from you again soon, but definitely NOT DC Audio.
