IDMAX 12

I have always been a fan of JL. I have obtained the IDMAX12. Now I am a bigger fan of Image Dynamics.

Love this sub!

This sub hits just the way I want it. Only this was it was a little pricey but well worth it. I want to order another in the near future.

AMAZING!

Literally the best SQ I've heard & owned. Just 1 of these with the right sized ported box & a 500/1 amp will ROCK your car. I fell in love with it. I'd recommend this sub anyday!

awesome sub!

I have one of these subs at one ohm in a sealed box on a memphis 16-mc1000d. Sounds pretty good, not as much spl as i had hoped for so i'm building a t-line for it. The sub gets really low in a 1.4 cuft sealed box but i want more spl out of it. the manual says "sealed enclosures recommended for most listeners" its great sq in a sealed box, just not nearly as loud as my old ported rockford t1 although the sq is ten times better.

Great Sound

I've owned some mid to late 90's JL w1 and w3 which were great sounding subs and I've had IDQ's and an IDMAX V2 I think it was (mid 2000's) and a couple of Kicker CVR's and I think Image Dynamics sound better. I have one IDMAX 12 in a 2ft vented enclosure but I liked the 2.25ft better. SQ. I think it will handle over 1000RMS but I haven't played it at full power for exteneded periods of time.

Idmax12v.3

Ive owned several image subwoofers. My first was an id12v.3. I couldnt believe the output from a single 12 for the price. Next i bought a Idq12v.3 installed in a sealed box, and the sound quality was superb, but was lacking on the spl. I installed the idq in a 2 cube square port box, and WOW!! what a major difference. It would play lower and louder than ever. Next i upgraded to the IDMAX12v.3d2 same ported box as the IDQ. It is a good deal louder than the idq, sound quality is similar in both. Extremely loud in the right enclosure. Extremely good sq. Before image i've only owned JL audio. I've had jl w3's of every version, and w6's. One of the Idmax easily would play as loud as 2 12 w3's. Now i've changed over to Image subwoofers. Jl is great, but they really don't compare all around performance in my experience. Even the standard IDv.3 would outperform the JL's i've owned pretty easily. Price, sq, and spl.

Best subs ever

I bought 2 of these and hooked them up to a US Amps and the are the cleanest subs I've ever heard. I build a MDF/fiberglass sealed enclosure 1.5cuft approximately and they hit every note perfectly. I definitely buy Image Dynamics again. And as always great service from Sonic Electronix

Horrible product

The same day I got the sub installed by the best installers in my area (Cleveland, Ohio) the metal part in the middle of the sub (the part with the logo) broke apart from the sub and was all bent up after playing music for 10 minutes at a volume of 6 (on a scale of 1-10).

JL Audio rival?

Pros:Very detailed subwoofer.
Haven't used it yet but the reviews about it are good!
Cons:Bit pricey.
Voice coil diameter size not specified but it looks small!
Better suited for sealed enclosures.

Excellent products!

I would recommend this ID MAX D2 V4 12"subwoofer and any Image Dynamics product to anyone looking for SQ as an alternative to "elite" brands such as JL Audio,focal and many others,they're good products so give them a try!
