W7 subwoofer

I bought 2 of these in a sealed box that sells here at sonic. I have a fosgate amp pushing around 1800 watts (supposed to be 1900 but being realistic). They are heavy and durabile as a tank! One thing i wanted to point out is these are loud in sealed but you want a ported box if you want windows to blow out. These in sealed boxes need alot of power. I have 2 optima batteries,a 2 farad cap, and a 270amp DC power alternator. It still wants more power! Im gona switch to ported custom box because i heard some W6s that were as loud or louder than mine on 1000 watts,stock alternator and a 50$ battery (come on im mad cuz i spent alot and expected more) once i get them in ported custom box il write another review. These are the best overall subs you can buy bar none! I dont care what anyone says for SQ,SPL, and range these are the king! JUST MAKE SURE TO PUT THEM IN PORTED BOXES OR YOU MIGHT BE DISSAPOINTED?

Oh My Bass

A lot of people say that JL Audio is overpriced, and it kind of is, but we all know that good things don't come cheap. I got this sub to replace my W3's and DAMN, this thing pounds. It handles whatever you throw at it. Lows, highs, anything. You can not only hear the bass, but you can feel it too. If you say that JL sucks or whatever, then why do you think they still get top dollar for this dub7? Or any other sub made by them.. It's the quality. And I pushed my W3's to the max and slapped the hell out of them and they never gave up on me. Never smelt a burnt coil or anything. JL Audio is quality, you get what you pay for.

Update on W7

I had my box made for 2 jlW7s by Fatbox USA. They did a great job and my SPL went way up. I drive a Tahoe, now that I have a ported box the dash actually jumps up and down lol. I dynamited my truck with the NVX sound dampener and it worked awesome! I'm putting realistically 900watts to ea W7 and they love it! If the subs were cheaper I'd build a wall for 6 of these pigs and do second skin application. Be advised you will need a powerful 4ch amp to drive your surround speakers. I have 2 sets of JLC5-650 components and 2 sets of Focal PC690 6x9s to keep up when the bass is cranking. These are great OVERALL subs, if you want big sloppy sounding SPL go buy Kickers,Sundown,DC audio,earthquake ect. If you want pure clean bass you can tweak to your taste, go buy a W7 and get a custom vented box. I promise you won't be disappointed folks!

Only the Best

I heard of this beast for years and i finally got up and got one. Wow is all i can say, this thing hits like no other sub. The SPL is intense while it still maintains incredible SQ. This thing is a beast!

JL for life!

I thought I was impressed with the JL 12W6 until it crapped out (due to the eq curve that I didn't know about because it was purchased used.) My plan was to reuse the ported enclosure for the 12W7 but the woofer is damn near larger than the enclosure so I had no choice but to have an enclosure built to specs. There's a note that accompanies the woofer that says to tune your system without an eq curve (had I know that, my 12W6 may still be alive) The SQ of this woofer is excellent yet the 12W7 has SPL like multipe woofers. A ported enclosure is the only way to maximize the performance of this woofer. I have the JL HD 600/4 on my interior speakers and I'm pairing the woofer with the JL HD 750/1 and it's a match made in audio heaven. I have two blue top Optima's without any capacitors (capacitors are worthless) and the amps have no problems getting the power they need even with the ignition being in the accessory only position.

w7 AE

Sub is awesome. I bought a jl 1000 watt amp to bump to this and it sucked. My kicker zx500 bump my w7 pretty nice in my honda fit. Still have plenty of room to bump even harder but my 500 watt gets the job done nicely. Best sub I owned and a bit pricey but well worth it if you have extra cash to spend.

FEEL THE POWER!!

I don’t know what else to say except WOW!!! I have had many subs in my day, and have always heard about JL quality when it came to subs, but was never in a place to be cool spending $1200 bucks on a sub. Fortunately, I’m in a place in my life where I could finally afford to do so, and MAN......I am speechless. All I can say is that the sub is the core of your system, and this is where you need to spend the money!! The sound quality and SPL are off the charts. Paired this with an HD1200 and whoa!!

Completely overpriced and overrated

Blew within a year.....and the place I bought it from gon have to send it back to Florida to get it fixed and charge $335 but remember this sub is $1000 the speaker and it will take 3weeks....it’s better woofers out there that will last longer!!!! Hitz harder than hard when itz good!!!

Very nice, clean amp

I love this amp. It's so clean and handles the low notes like a champ. I have personally never heard my Solo x 18 or anyone else's Solo x sound so good. The response is tight and right on. There's no delay. On my other amp, there was no chance of playing techno music. The sub was just way too delayed and off-beat. I recommend this amp 10x over. Super low price and sounds great!

PS: Is this amp CEA-2006 compliant? It does not say it is on here! :O

not bad

For about 500 bucks find a better amp, it only pushes about 1500-1750 rms. I will say it sounds pretty nice though, plays lows well, sq is good on it, 5k?? Heeeeeelll no you could buy a soundstream rubicon 2500d wich put out cleaner and a little more power than this for 250 bucks. But its still a good amp. It's big though so people will think it's a beast.

I have this beast wired down to one ohm on two 15" dual 4 re audio sxx subs in a custom box built to match the specs in a 2004 grand marquis i drove 2&1/2 hours to cedar point banging the whole way & checked my amp once i arrived & it wasnt even warm to the touch i luv the durability of this amp would recommend this amp to anyone who doesnt wanna pull next to my car with his system playin & get embarrassed.

It works nice! Definitely does more that 2500 RMS. Clamped it out on 14.4 did a 2630.

Looking for extrem power? You found it I have one of the XTX-5000.1 on 4 RE XXX12" and I hit 152.1Db at the 2012 parts Express Audio show. I order 4 Lanzar OPTI7001d 5100 Watt @ 1ohm one on each XXX12" POWER.

re audio best stuff u can get

I have full re audio system in my 98 crown vic. Running re 5000 xtx on 2 15 re xxx subs in custom ported comp box. i also have 2 xtx800 high side amps pushing 4 re 6x9s and 2 5-1/4s allso upgrade alt and 0g wire front to back with 1 stock battrery up fron and 4 redtops in the trunk re audio gets down and drops hard. the best u can get in my book for the money. when your car moves in the back and the trunk dances aroung like jumpin jacks u no its on. I hit a 154 dbs in the car, thats not bad at all.

Best amp ever!

I have this amp wired down to 2 12" IDMAX 12D2, this is a great combination, the cleanest sound and definately recomend this combination, you will not regret it! For the subs I made a MDF/fiberglass sealed sub enclosure and this beast knows how to work it. Great amp!!

This amp was the best value amp at the time and has a good name for quality. The best amp for the XXX series subwoofers. Freq response isn't the greatest on subsonic freq's though.

Very good product but it does like to get warm... i have this hooked up to an AQ HDC3 18 and it slams!!! very well built very sleek look to it as well.

Great bang for your money

Amp has great quality. Easy to install and looks very sharp when mounted. Has 0 gauge wire input. And double speaker terminals 2 post and 2 neg. You can easy put 8 gauge wire into it. Im replacing a audiopipe 30001 and this sounds alot more solid and plays music more clear. Battery does not dim as much as ap3001. So far so good. I chose this one insted of a brx2400 hifonics. Better price and features. Im so glad i did. Im powering 8 Re Audio 8inch subs and its so loud. Sealed box. Pros price and well built. Neg. I would like them to include the fuse needed for it.

Re in a Wakeboat

I have the XTX-5000 on a 15" RE XXX in a 4cf 32hz tuned box in a Malibu wakeboat wired at 1 ohm. These bench test at a true 2400w at 14.4v. Exceeds ALL expectations, does a hair trick and makes your teeth hurt. amp never even gets warm. QUALITY GEAR. DUMB clamp/mounting system...works though.

This a an excellent amp for the price! I've had this amp for over 6 months with no problems. I am currently pushing 2 RD alpha 15's and this amp is performing great. I can run this amp for several hours without any over heating problems. Great buy!

RE Audio amp

The first time I got this Amp it didn't work. I got a second one and it work pretty good. I'm not sure it really gives 2.5k rms but I think it close to 2k. I'm pushing a 15" hcca and its pounding pretty good but it feels like I could use a bit more power.

badest amp ever

I bought this amp not to long ago an man this thing has good sound I never had problems with this amp are all. The only thing is that it sucks up alot of power in my car. But other then that I love it.

Amazing amp

Best amp ever owned had a kicker 1500.1 and 30 mins driving amp gets warm this amp drove 2.5 hrs amp not warm even to the touch amp sounds amazing and has great power.

re amp

This amp was pretty beast. I had it running 1 fi btl and it sure got the job done. The only down side is that i wanted to get another one but the price went up by about 150 dollars. Great amp though highly recomend it.

This amp is brutal. It will push any sub to its max with utter disregard to your eardrums. That is... if you have enough space to fit this bad boy. And if you don't, you make space!

My 2 HCCA 15" orion's love this amp. This amp chuckles at them. This amp has the latest cutting edge technology, and it never get's warm it stays cool. In a word, wow! Thank's RE audio. Your price on it is under rated. I'm glad to. I cant afford orion's HCCA amp. Like i said wow. This amp is amazing awesome ect ect!!
