JVC KD-HDR20

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

I was looking for an economical CD Receiver for my truck that had an HD radio tuner built in, capability to playback MP3 and WMA files on a CD-R, and an Aux in Jack on the front. This radio delivers on all counts! I just received it on time as promised from Sonic Electronix and installed it. I love it! Just what I was looking for. Love the HD sound too.I have read tons of reviews before purchasing this radio and believe I made the right choice. A lot of people complain about how the presets work, but I was used to it in minutes. Unless you need the ipod controls and USB port on the front, this is the one to get, it saves you money you don't need to spend. Would definitely recommend this radio to others...and will! I also needed to get a couple install questions answered and the tech support at Sonic hooked me up quickly with the information I needed. Can't beat the whole experience!

JVC KD-HDR20

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

Great upgrade for any older radio at a low price. Like others have stated it is a little hard to preset stations and retrieve them .

great radio

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

I give this radio a 5/5, at first it takes a while to get used to with all the different settings avaliable. After you get used to it the radio is a breeze and the hd built in feature is great. the eq settings give you a full range to adjust your radio too not just low mid high, it has the in between settings everyone wants

Great Unit

This is a great unit. Installed easy. Very happy with the performance, sounds great, plenty of controls, unless you are building a super high power system, this is a great unit for just about any application.

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

this headunit is great it has everything HD radio aux input supports Bluetooth and ipods. it also lets u change the voltage of the amp from low to high to power your speakers just right. Its very simple to use with no button combos you have to do to change the time or settings.

Excellent Choice

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

Radio has excellent reception and sound. I have connected a JVC CD changer and it controls this with no problems.
This is installed in a Ford Ranger and with the install kit looks like a factory install
This is an excellent choice if you are considering a replacement radio for your vehicle

Great product for an affordable price

The following review is for a previous version (KD-HDR20).

I bought this product for my dad's car (1995 Toyota Avalon XLS) and installed it myself. The car had an amplifier so I had to order a different wireharness (Metra 70-8112). This player has 2 sets of preamp output which is what I needed to be able to hook up to the amplifier. Just be careful though, because the preamp outputs are for front and subwoofer...usually players like sony and kenwood can switch between subwoofer and rear audio output, but this player can't do that. So you would have to split the front output for both front and rear.
MP3 playback works great, and so does the CD playback. Radio sounded very crisp and clear. Great player and amazing sound. I definitely recommend this receiver.

Love This Unit!

This radio is AWESOME! Bought it, and threw it in my 2000 Mercury Sable Wagon. SO Much better then stock! No real complaints, except every now and then HD comes in and out, but I have a feeling that's my antenna, and not the unit. Thing was confusing at first (coming from a old cassette radio) but now I know how to use it, the things awesome! The blue glow at night gets bright sometimes tho, but there is a option to dim them, and it helps a lot. I would recommend this radio to anyone, this thing literally ROCKS!

good chioice

Just had it installed by a pro. Great sound on the original speakers. Impressed with the HD channels. Now I will be shopping for speakers.
I am still reading the manual to obtain more info. Also a good price. I recommend it if youre looking for something simple.

WOW.

This has turned out to be a great buy at a good price. I bought it for my wife. It was way past time to replace her 4 yr old factory car stereo. It does everything I wanted it to without the extra bells and whistles. I have been quite pleased so far. If we wish to add on bluetooth or sat radio later, we have that option. Great, thanks!
