Sounds great!

I have had this sub for about 6 months now, and i am very impressed with how it handles the lows and how hard it hits. I had this sub professionally installed, at least i thought was a professional install. I was a little disappointed when I was told he had to turn the amp down because it was distorting early. But even being driven with less than rms i wasn't concerned because it still sounded great and hit harder than i expected it too. After about a week i started poking around my install and found out that the box was not in the specified range for the sub it was well below the minimum box size. I was pissed to say the least that i spent all that money and they couldn't even build the box to spec. So i will be building my own box soon and will be even happier with the output, quality and poundage of this sub. In fact I've already ordered one for my new 14 chevy crew. Cant wait to get it installed! On a side note i did notice the box said made in China....not sure if its all MTX products or just the shallow mount. So the only disappointment i have is another once proudly made in USA product is now made overseas.

Never a bad product from MTX

I've always had MTX since I first got into audio 10+ years ago. I've never had any problems with MTX and these don't fall short of perfect. They sound awesome in a very confined box under my backseat of my 4 door truck. They sound as though they are in a trunk or SUV and the bass is amazing. The lows are clear and don't bottom out, the highs are just as crisp and so are the mid basses. I'd definitely recommend these for any setup, especially for those who don't have much space. They are definitely worth it.

I love it!

I have this sub in my lancer evo IX. This sub has a nice punch in sealed boxesé If you are looking for a shallow mount the mtx fpr12-02 is the best bang for your buck

MTX shallow mount

this sub is amazing. it has good output in sealed boxes. and i tried it out in a cheap bandpass box and sounded great. its definitely a contender in the shallow mount race. A+

Great Sub!

I am surprised that I couldn't find a single review of this sub. I took a chance after a lot of looking around and am very happy I did. I had a Kicker CVT 2 ohm in a box about 1 cubic foot in my truck. It didn't sound that great. I put this MTX in and the difference is unbelievable. So much better sound quality, it hits harder and lower too. Can't get over how much cleaner it sounds than my Kicker. If you are looking for a good shallow mount, definitely check these things out.

BOOM!

I've had this installed in my crew cab under the rear seat for a while now. It is in a box that is .90cuft by outside dimensions and it hits twice as hard as the box "professionally" built with the same sub in my other truck. So i will be building a new box for the other truck as well. Sometimes if you want it done right you have to do it yourself i guess. I have not been very nice to this sub either, in either truck, and it takes it for hours on end sometimes with no issues at all. Another awesome product from MTX

MTX ?!?

The following review is for a previous version (TT6512-02).

Not a fan of MTX but the specs seemed to meet my needs.
I own a F150 supercrew and space is very limited. I purchased this sub and MTX's unloaded bass slammer(thunderform) box and my truck hits low notes that i would never imagine one 12" sub could produce! I'm very satisfied so far.
note: slight problem with the way it was packed for shipping but that does not reflect my over all review of the subwoofer itself!

shallow mount sucess

The following review is for a previous version (TT6512-02).

This thing slams....I partnered it with the MTX RT500 run at 4 ohm load and let me tell you this exceeded my expectations. I've had L7s other MTXs JL Audio and this sub is quality sound and built i hightly recommend it!

this thing slams!

The following review is for a previous version (TT6512-02).

I have had this sub for about four months now.. first i had it in a standard cab toyota pickup in a .8 cuft sealed box on a rockford 325.1 amp which pushes 450 watts rms easy..but anyway this sub wasnt even fully broke in and it out beat the rockford p310 in a slot ported box. and it was louder than a kicker cvr. if u were are low on space and want low clean bass this sub is perfect!. then i moved into my car a ford focus zx3 hatch with the same amp and now it is ridiculous loud makes ur ears hurt when i crank it! i origannly had a mtx tr5512 in my car but got rid of it because it was only half as loud and half as clean as the shallow!..

Good sub in a small space

I purchased this sub to put into a Ford focus hatchback. I am powering the sum with 500W at 2ohm. The sub box is sealed and built to MTX's recommended airspace dimensions. The sub has no problem providing some serious punch even though it is a shallow mount sub. There are some deep notes that it has trouble reproducing but that is a product of being a shallow mount sub and not the speaker itself. By default you are giving up some sound by going with a shallow sub but it is only noticeable on very low hertz notes. If space is at a premium than this great all around sub is the way to go.

Excellent Sub

I have to admit I have never had a shallow mount sub before. Have usually had dual voice coil subs but since I have a F250 CrewCab really didn't have the space for a regular depth or a huge sub for that matter. So I decided to gibe one of these a whirl. An must admit I am completely blown away!! Nice deep crisp bass! I have it paired up with a MTX 500.1 amp an a .80 cubic square foot box an that seems to be the ticket! Have not maxed out the amps power yet have it turned on to half for the time being.

Deep Bass for my F150 Super Crew!!

I ordered two of the MTX FPR12-02 Subwoofers for my 2015 F150 Super Crew. I installed them in an $80 downfire box(.80 ft per chamber) that i ordered online. These subs sound Incredible!! They get looooowwwwwww and Deeeeeeeeeeppppp!! Exactly what I needed for my system. I have them being powered by a ROckford Fosgate P500X1BD and it sounds AMAZING!! I did due diligence for a while before deciding to get these. I was debating between these MTX FPR 12 and the JL audio TW3 12. I am happy I went with these because I got two for the price of one JL and these hit deep just like JL in my opinion if you have good amp. I LOVE THEM and they are Very appealing!! THanks SOnicelectronix!!

Nicest shallow mount

The following review is for a previous version (TT6512-02).

As the title says this is the best shallow mount sub I have ever owned. This sub is top of the line and probably the best shallow mount out there beside of course the alpine shallow mount but you can't beat the power you get out of this thing for the price. It blew about 9 months after having it but i bought another because I was so happy with it!
