Made me a believer
They used to say cone size is king, but now it’s just RMS. This was the highest watt, vehicle specific loaded enclosure I found. At one point I had six 12” subs then two 18’s in my old Silverado, but with this new rig (2023 ZR2 Bison) I wanted a cleaner look and a functional rear seat. These are on a rp2000 skar amp and I’m blown away! They go as low as the 18’s but have a faster response time. I had to put a gasket on the rear view mirror trim so it would stop rattling against the windshield ???? I put them in facing rearward for a more acoustically dynamic setup, made amp placement a bit funky but turns out it’ll run cooler where it is. The only bummer was the outer grill came with a couple dents in it that I pried out with a small screwdriver so the finish isn’t as pretty, but it’s still functional. I used a ratchet strap to secure it, didn’t want to drill into the cab, and the rear seatbelt bolt is a great ground. I just cleaned the bolt up a bit and it has the same impedance as direct to the frame.
Highly recommended!
