Incredible Sound Quality and Punch

Got a pair in a 1.5CF per side, FoxAcoustics box, tuned to 35htz, and wired to 1 Ohm, delivering 1100 RMS on a massive D2400. The sound quality is second to none. Transitions are tight and very pleasant. I can feel the percussion and get plenty of SPL. Beat the REAudio S E X hands down. Amazed at the quality of the woofer, and what it delivers in such a small enclosure.

Install review

The construction of the sub looks solid and it has nice terminals(pre wired for 2ohm).
That being said it's really a 12.5 inch sub and may not fit in pre-made boxes such as the belva example I ordered with mine. I had to cut at into the side of the box walls to make the sub sit into the cutout.

Will update on how it sounds in the recommended sealed box ~1 cu. Ft. Once I have finished my install.

Amazing subwoofer

I'd recommend this subwoofer to anyone looking for a quality subwoofer, with a great mixture of sq/spl!! Sounds amazing and the build quality of this subwoofer is very impressive for the price!! I had an enclosure made for this subwoofer at 1.9ft^3 tuned to 29 hz and the sound quality is phenomenal while hitting super low notes as well. Big upgrade from my JL audio w3v2 12". Not that much louder in this box during break in but it sounds much better. Would buy this again and recommend to anyone looking for a great all around sub. I've owned Rockford p3, pioneer champion pro series, kicker cvr, etc and none match the quality and sound quality of the subwoofer .

10 years and my search is over.

I've gone through just about every sub there is from typical lower end Pioneer, kicker, alpine, etc to image dynamics, JL, focal, eclipse, infinity kappa perfects. even offstream brands SD, DD, SQ, Skar, Arc, etc and EVERYTHING in between all brands all sizes. For the price point of this woofer the build and the absolute sound quality w crisp clean deep and accurate punchy bass. This sub is one of the best ive owned and heard. Its ran off the 5th channel from my JL slash 500/5 with a 1.5 cu ft net tuned @ 34hz. This sub wants more power so I will be getting the JL HD900/5 soon. But the accuracy of this 12" is outstanding. I do recommend at least 350 watts ported and at least 550 watts sealed. If your a bass guy you will need two of these with a quality 700-1000 watts. 1 is good for your average person and will fill any vehicle with bass.

High quality subwoofers. Don't let the price fool you!

Bought two of these along with the NVX ported enclosures built for them. I also have 40 sq. ft. of NVX sound deadener throughout my car. These things put out nothing but pure, clean bass. No unnecessary rattles and no extra vibrations other than the notes being played. I've previously had 2 dual kicker l5 12's setups in sealed and in ported enclosures. These aren't quite as loud as the L5's in the ported enclosure but that's more to do with the kickers taking 1300rms and these getting 800rms. These sound so much better than the kickers. and were much more affordable. It's unbelievable how much woofer you are getting for $200 a pair. The Kicker L5's costs 400-450$ back then and even more now (L7's). My only complaint is that I wish these were rated at 600+watts rms. I'm sure they can handle it just fine but I don't want to chance going against manufacturer specs and voiding warranties. Highly recommend this as well as NVX enclosures and sound deadening.

Edit 3/4/2026: These are still running strong 9 years later. My old car finally gave out and moved these to a new vehicle.

Great Value! LITERALLY!!

I had originally bought the ported box for this XQW124 for one of my DC Level One 12 inchers. Had to do a minor mod to get the DC to mount and it sounded great! No doubt! DC is fan_asteriks_tastic! I then decided to buy another DC Level One 12 incher to run them in pair so I didn't need this box anymore... Or so I thought..... And then I decided to give this X-Series sub a try since I had the box for it already... And oh yeah!.. This sub sounds great! Hits notes with SQ and SPL. It is loud, clean and articulate! Now I want another X- 12" and another specific ported box to run these in pair!!! Great subwoofer, great bass, great box and definitely worth more $$$!! I want X-Series decals for my vehicle now! LOL. Great product by NVX!!!!!..... And great everything else from Sonic!!!!!!!!
