Poor Value

I have used the product 10 times and out of the 10 only 6 times has it had the address i was looking for. All Pioneer will tell you is that you have to be 100 percent correct with the address. Even then it wouldnt work. I would not buy this product.

Needs a Major Overhaul

Don't get me wrong, the AVIC-U220 does what it says it does, it just doesn't look like it's as update as it should be for 2012. It's dated and looks more like a GPS unit from a decade ago. The roads are just lines, and there's no effort made to embellish the experience. If you're hoping for something that will look like Google maps or anything your smartphone can deliver, keep looking, this is not the unit for you. You also can't enter information while the vehicle is on the move, even if the passenger's doing it, even with the handbrake bypass. It detects GPS movement and there's no way around it.

That being said, if all you care about is a device that will get you from point A to point B, the AVIC-U220 does the job. Knowing what I know now, would I buy it again? Nope. I'd spend the extra bucks and get a head unit with it's own nav.

Great GPS

This GPS unit integrates well with the Pioneer head units. Easy to use and navigate. Somewhat different from Garmin but integrated with the dvd units. If you use a tom tom or something other than Garmin, you'll love this add on.

Pretty Sweet

Well let me start off by saying next time I purchase a deck it will probably be a navi deck. This deck is pretty sweet I will list pros and cons.

Pros:
-you get navi in your car
-it is pretty accurate and the deck zooms in when you are turning a corner which for some intersections this function becomes so valuable
-price is pretty good

cons
-I wish it would tell you the address at all times or atleast when you get there, you input the address but then you never see it again
-some highways it will tell you to get off and then throw you back on the highway
-overall its pretty cool and I like it

Good unit!

I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a quality system for a great price. Bought two of them. One was for me (a low-end user) with the steering wheel controls and XM. The other was for my 17 year old son who pushes the sound system to its max. We are both very satisfied with the Pioneer system.

good and bad, but still cool

The Pioneer Avic-u220 is a pretty decent gps unit considering that it is my first one, but on my next purchase i will most likely get an all in one unit. The unit is very useful and I would reconmend it to anyone looking for a basic GPS unit.

Works Great!

The nav system works great. Easy to navigate and read. Very user friendly.

GPS add-on for Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD

Though I didn't absolutely need a GPS, I figured it would make sense to buy the unit and get it installed simultaneously with the Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD and Sirius radio adapter. The unit has basic functionality found in most GPS units but not much more. Biggest disappointment was that it did not have a built-in speedometer as even my cell phone GPS does.

Good, but not great

I have had other gps devices before and this is hands down the worst one I've had. The interface is not too bad but not as slick as say a Tom Tom, where it really falls down is the add ons, there are no, I repeat no free map updates, pioneer seems to annually offer an add on that you can buy to update the maps. Poi's is another thing, mine came with a offer for free points of intrest update (downloadable), I have placed three orders for it, several phone calls to pioneer, and still have not got the bloody download.

Another point that is just dumb is that you cannot program the device unless you are stopped with the e-brake on, this does not take into account that you may have passengers that are doing it for you, you can do favorites at least though.

Not updateable without an expensive update, weird interface, add on apps seem to be non existent (in Canada anyways), if your planning on a deck and u220 purchase I would skip this one and go for a name brand gps add in like Garmin or Tom Tom.

Great stereo,Best price around

Stereo works and sounds great. Easy to install. Came with everything i needed to install in my 2001 durango. 2nd monitor, backup camera and steering wheel control adaptor not so easy. But very pleased with my purchase. Would buy from Sonic again. shipping was very fast too.

1 great unit!

This unit is excellent. I have vids on youtube of it in action. Has very good sound from audio and bluetooth works great with my Android cell. Would do an in depth review but Pioneer name speaks for itself. Go with this unit and you won't be upset. The only drawback is not knowing what source your on when the flap is closed. Other than that excellent unit. A++

Pioneer AVH_P6300BT

Love this deck, Just installed in my 2004 Ram, Great sound, Nice Display, Lots of colors to choose from for background and Unlimited colors for key pad, DVD Playback is Crystal Clear, Bluetooth Operation is Flawless, My only complaint is the Bluetooth has no Voice Dial and you can only store 1 background off a jump drive at a time,So I just keep the jump drive in my truck when I get bored it takes about 15 second to change the background

Great system!

This radio works great.
Pros: easy to use, looks great, camera, CD, DVD, GPS, HD radio, aux options
Cons: Bluetooth phone works but I changed phones 3 times and it kept each configuration, but I can't access the tools to delete any and could only dial from screen from the 1st config. Thank I have to depower and start over.

best radio i ever had from Tony AkA Witch HA

i had this head unit for about 3 years now and had it hooked up in my room for awhile due to a license suspension after that had it in two car's so far and i have to say i love everything about it the only thing i don't like about the head unit i over paid for the head unit like way over paid but so far still love the head unit very easy to use just wish it had an display when TV is closed. So if anyone is thinking of getting this head unit i highly recommend this head unit you will not be sorry TRUST ME [Pioneer over anything would never would get any other brand]

This head unit it's great kool features and built in EQ awesome and it has everything you need for todays gadgets and its super responsive at the touch of the finger no lagg.

Great radio

I bought this radio about half a year ago but it took a while because it was in backorder (floods in factory). But it was definitaly worth the wait. The instalation was very simple and the system is easy to understand. Pioneer is the only brand I have had since I have a car, 18 years now, and probably won't change. You know what you get. In comparison with previous pioneer I had it also improved sound quality a lot. At this moment I'm running 6.5's kappas in the front, 4"'s kappas in the back and 6.5's kickers under the back seat. US ap Xterminator for my 10"sub which will make place shortly for RE Audio xtx5000.1 for 2 Idmax 12" and xt800.4 for my mids. Besides the excellent radio I have installed I have to give thumbs up for the excellent service and great prices from SonicElectronix. Will definitely buy from them again!

LOVE THIS RADIO!!!

Owned this radio for 6 months now and let me tell you, this radio is worth every penny I paid for it. I had it professionally installed (which I highly recommend) in my '03 Chevy Astro Van. Installed with 2 Pioneer amps, 8 Speakers and 2 10" subs in a custom built cabinet, 2 Sun visor flat screen monitors and 1 in this unit is more than enough. My system is as loud as some NY nightclubs I've been to and the clarity is unbelievable. I take advantage of every option it offers. I love this thing!

Great product

The AVIC-U220 navigation has worked great for me ever sene I installed it. It is a little different to operate than the otther navigation unit that I had. But once you learn to operate it, it works great. No problems.

The Best In the West

The technical representatives for Sonic have to be among the best in the world, to be able to understand my babbling (over the phone) as I described a minor problem I had with my U220. They were patient, professional and most technically adept. I was imediately sent a replacement and my problem was resolved. Customer care is paramount with Sonic and only the best treatment will ever be afforded there.

As for the unit; When I glance at my GPS I feel as if I am actually looking through my windshield, because of the screen size, resolution and dynamics. The accuracy in location and clarity in directions is without a doubt the best you will find.

Great Navigation System

Pro: It does it job, pretty fast updates to driving conditions.
Cons: The options take some time to get used to and it was hard at first to find out where to go to edit the driving options.

I test it for the first time going home, it showed me a long way to get home, but i ignored it and drove home the way i wanted to. Next day i tested it again, and the second time around it showed me the right way, so i am not sure what that was all about, it might have learning ability, that would be awesome. I had this for 1.5 years now.

Pioneer AVH-P6300BT

This is the best flip out radio pioneer has on the market right now. Have had no problems with it so far. I have used pioneer for my all of my vehicles entertainment and have not let me down yet. Plus SonicElectronix has great prices and one of the fastest shipping services I have experienced so far.

Great Add-on Product

I got the U220 as an add-on GPS unit for my Pioneer AVH-P6300BT and they work great together. I took a 1500 mile trip using it about 2 months after I got it and found everything I wanted.
