Isaac

These subs are extremely sensitive, so they get fairly loud off of low wattage even. The 105dB sensitivity shows. I had them in a bandpass box which sounded fairly good, and feeding a pair of them 800 watts got plenty loud for me. I was impressed, and they've been taking the power for a couple months now. The baskets are also very nice. Not bad for the price.

5 starts, but not perfect.

This is a beast of a speaker, but not for everyone, at least not as a sub. This is a sound quality sub. I just tried 2 of these in a 2 cubic foot sealed box (small side I know) and these guys really sing. They blend as good as it gets, and they are VERY clean and detailed. They get loud! as loud as i can take. They are the perfect Rock, Jazz, Acoustic... music. My box was small and sealed and i crossed them from 125hz down. I crossed them that high because they simple excel in that lower midbass area. (Prevision sub was at 80hz) That allowed me play may door speaker much louder without any sacrifice in quality. I probably gained 10db overall with this. The sound stage right where it is suppose to be. Did i mention the detail in the bass! REALLY NICE!

Were they fall short is low frequency, ( I know small box what did i expect...) I don't think most bass heads will be happy with this driver. I know it will play lower when i get them in the right size ported box, but i can tell they will leave some rap guys short on the boom boom side. If you have enough cabin gain in your car, these ported MAY work good enough for those lower frequency rap songs, But i don't know if you will hear the 25hz and lower stuff. I have these in a mini van and I may use another sub cross maybe a band pass box for the under 30hz stuff. I'll have to see how it does in a good ported box. I actually wanted a sub that coul play higher frequencies and i found it. right now I think of these more of the mibbass for a 3way front that can play very low. For the money ----- scratch that----- For what it does, they are the best subs iv'e heard yet.

If i can get these to play down to 20hz in my van ill post another review, don't hold your breath on that happening.

Nice

So I've got two of these things, and they are legit loud on very little power. I've got the gain at 5, with 900 watts a piece on them just for break-in purposes. After they're broke in, I'll turn the gain up to 2, and rock...I mean, these things are so loud, I've had to buy new front-end speakers with a sensitivity over 90 decibels to have a chance to hear the other frequencies.
Did I mention that they look legit too? And the spider was so heavy, it didn't fit in my box, had to creatively use a router bit to squeeze them in. They shipped at "20 pounds," and yes, the are that heavy, the magnet is HUGE.

5 stars still

Just a follow up review. I install another pair of these in another van ported 2.3 cubic feet tuned to 32hz.. So very musical! I'm still blown away on how detailed and how loud they play. Not a earth shaking subs, but my rear view mirror's glue certainly gets put to the test every now and then. I was trying to avoid spending big bucks on I A Carbon subs to get the sound i wanted, and i think I came extremely close with these for a fraction of the cost.

Just a little DSP tuning and they are perfect subs for 99% of the music i listen to. I believe if i built the box a little bigger maybe 2.5 - 2.9 cubes, at 30 - 29hz might they might take care of that last 1%.
