Bringing the bass

These are fantastic subwoofers for the price. I have them connected up in their maximum power configuration and at times I believe my Suburban is going to explode before they blow. Very tight bass for anyone looking for an SQ configuration and I'm sure SPL'ers will drool at the pressure they produce.

great speakers

I have two of these in my Jeep Cherokee. they have a lot of bass and can be tuned to be more like normal, but i prefer the bass. If I had the other speakers to go with them it would sound great. I've got stocks but need tweets and mids. I have older pioneer deck and older Jensen 460 amp, I built a custom box as per the spec sheet. I could probably get more out of them but over the years I have learned not to turn my gain up and save from fixing my amps.

Awesome Sub

Sound systems are supposed to be connected properly, under powering is not going to give you results, take into consideration your box quality, the type of materials used and if it is sealed properly. The frequency of the box needs to be measured and your amp needs to tune to the box frequency. wiring is another factor to look at, you cant be toying with 8 gauge power cables and normal speaker cables. This is an awesome sub, i tried sealed and then ported, the ported sounds way better (make sure to use the right size of port). Instructions and dimensions come with the package.

Justin James from Plaquemine, La

I bought four of these and put them on a power acoustik 5500 watt class D amp. They beat my trunk lose broke my rear view mirror I had bass out the a$$. But after around bout 7 month of beatin 2 of them went out. So I would recommend them if you put them on a smaller amp. If you wanna break s**t get the next level Pioneer.

amazzin sub

I only have on of these subs in my 2001 Xterra and it sounds amazing. I have it hooked up to a 1000 watt Hitron amp that puts out 600 RMS at 2ohms which is what I have my sub wired to. So I'm easly over powering this sub by 200 watts RMS and it couldn't sound better. I've had it for about a good five months now and there is no sign of wear on it or the amp. So over all Pioneer is by far the best brand if you don't want to spend much and they can take a beating. And with just one sub it shakes everything in my car and thats when this bass knob it only half way up and the radio is on 8.

Pulled over first night!

Bought these from a friend in a dual 1.5cbft ported box for $60 thinking it would last me till i bought better subs... but after i plugged these things into a kenwood 1000watt amp bridged at 4ohms pushing 500rms to both i think ill keep these and get a new amp!!. about 5 hours after i installed em got pulled over for noise disturbance and it was at volume 10!!

Only subs I wanna talk about.

This Subwoofer is great for its price; ordered it for my little brother as a single 12", its his first sub and he loves it. I've personally owned "STRICTLY" pioneer subs since I started my hobby. I've heard everything: Rockford, Kicker, MTX, Memphis, FI BTL's, JL Audio, Orion, Infinity and literally: nothing compares. This equipment is very sophisticated and deserves an amplifier that will serve it justice. So long as you know your basics: Box Volume, Power needs, and crossover values you'll be pleased. The only subwoofer meant to last and sound deadly accurate is Pioneer. Dont be fooled by the price, Sonic Electronix is as good a bargain as you can find.

Packs a punch for a low price

I have 2 of these subs in a ported box wired to 1 ohm getting 600 watts each. all i can say is holy s***. Goin strong with no issues for 4 monthes now. Its tremendously loud for the price. My system beats out my friends that have more expensive subs than me. On a budget or not, i highly recommend this sub.

GOOD CLean Bass

Good Clean bass ! Used one of these in my truck with a ported box. Had hooked up to an mtx TA8502 Thunder 8502 at 1 ohm sub got 375 RMS

By BIg S on June 13, 2010

No

i got one of these and im not impressed. it running off a 1 channel 275RMS amp. I would've expected this amp to not be able to push these enough but i have to turn the gain down like half way. it can't even handle 275RMS?! if i turn it up to much the woofer seizes. and it's even in a sealed box.

just invest like 30 more dollars and you can get something way better then these. i really regret buying it.

***Note from Sonic: When underpowering by 70% we recommend a ported enclosure. Sealed enclosures should be powered 100%+

not recommended

Used to be a big believer in Pioneer. I bought 2 of these subs about 1 1/2 months ago and haven't really drove them hard. The voice coils shorted on each of these within 2 weeks of each other. I've used their single voice coil subs for years without any problems but the DVC's aren't built to last.

str8 bass

These subs are great I have 4 on a 3000 power acoustik, let me tell you after hooking them up and playing them I had a bad head ache. I dont even have the amp turned all the way up its not even half way.

SUCKS

I had these speakers for about 2 weeks and they blew. I had them hooked up to a hifonics 1210d and the amp wasn't even all the way up. These cannot handle what they say they can. But if your just lookin for something to just ride to......... Go head and get em.

Pioneer TS-W308D4 Great Bass

I bought two of these subs for my 01 GMC Sonoma. Built a custom box built to the airspace recommendations. And after about a week of playing them on a Nitro BMW-482 1000watt amp at mid level I tuned the amp and turned it up. I was surprised how great these subs hit for what i payed for them. Sonicelectronix.com has me hooked for life now. I recommend this product to anyone on a tight budget and looking for major bass. You get way more than what you pay for!!!

Works well in ported or sealed boxes

I have my own stereo buisness and use these speakers for many installs. They perform well in ported or sealed boxes. I push them with the Power Acoustik 2000 watt class d amps and have never had one fail. Great bang for the buck. You can remove the magnet gaurd and lesson the mounting depth by 3/4 of an inch.

awesome subs for the price

I recently picked a pair of these Pioneers up for the wifes Xmas gift..
Car is a 2001 sunfire (coupe)..
Subs are in a custom built ported box i made..3.5 cubes net tuned at 34 hertz with 14" of port per cubic foot..
Amp is a audiopipe mini 1000d running at 1ohm.. amp pushes a solid 790 watts rms..(according to my clamp meter)..impedance rise to 1.3 ohms..
She has a shuriken bt35 under the hood and a 1 farad cap..voltage never goes below 13.3 volts..

in short these subs in the proper box can be down right nasty...absolutely love the way they sound,,
if you buy these do a proper box and power and u will be amazed at the quality sound..

Wobbles Good

I listen to alot of dubstep and rap on my single tsw308d4 and it has never failed, it responds intensley good on double bass for metal too and adds alot of clean bass for any other genre i listen to like folk or classic rock or anything. i would get another 308d4 in a heartbeat, but if i get another sub, it's gonna be 2 15's, but i need the bass to tingle my ears and eyebrows, not just shake my car and my insides.

Good subs for price

I purchased these subs and built two enclosures for a home sound system. It didn't work as well as I planned, but that was the fault of my poor enclosure job. The subs respond well to input and seem fairly well built. I will test them will full power at some point, and I'm sure with the proper enclosure, they'll get the job done.

this is a very hard hitin sub for base and sound

This product is great. It hits hard and clean doesn't drown out the music. The 40 ohm is awesome to buy. I would recommend this to anybody wanting a good shake that everybody else can feel around you. People hear me coming from down the road lol. These are great.

Good Clean Hard Hitting Bass

I've owned many different subs in my life and this one is hands down the best bang for the buck I've found. The bass is very clean and crisp. It hits amazingly hard for one speaker. It tends to get just a little sloppy with the ultra low bass but that is to be expected with any budget minded sub. All in all it has amazing clarity and great sound. I'm powering it with an MTX TC4001 Mono block amp in a 1.65 cu ft sealed enclosure in a Dodge Durango.
