Good all-around subowofer

I purchased these two on a whim despite not having any reviews. They had the best specs in this size while having a required 4" (or less) mounting depth. Put them in 0.5" cubic foot sealed enclosure each, powered with approximately 200w RMS per channel.

They handle the power well, and get low and loud. The sound is a tad boomy and I can hear them reach their mechanical limits when pushed very hard which suggest these prefer a smaller sealed box perhaps 0.3-0.4cf.

The sound quality is respectable, these work well with most every style of music I listen to. SPL-wise, they're pretty comparable to higher end 8" subs I've heard. With two at their rated power, I would say they're as loud as a good 12" sub, though that is subjective.

There's really nothing bad to say about these woofers. If I had to pick something, it would be the use of foam surrounds instead of rubber. On the flip side, there's nothing that really stands out and says "BUY ME" either.. They do look cool though. Had mounting depth not been a concern, I would have gone with with a more established brand such as Boston or Infinity, as they are very close in price.

Awesome.

I've had two of these wired at 1Ohm in vented enclosure built to PPI's specs powered by a PPI S550.1D fed by a Clarion MCD360. They are accurate and have a great low end. They were a little difficult for me to tune in, probably due to my ability more than the application. Can't beat the price. Punch is great, bottom end is too. Wonder if they would be better in a sealed enclosure sometimes, may have to build one and see. For the money they are fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to buy them. I may buy a couple more while they are still available.

Unique High Quality Driver

Neat little driver. Check out the specs. 1 cu enclosure achieves sub 30HZ results. Specs say the basket is steel but.... Doesnt feel or sound like steel. More like a carbon composite. Great performance for an 8" subwoofer.

Worth It!!!!!!

Nice old school look and feel. Not alot plastic and chrome that does nothing but take up box voulme and introduce un-natural ringing in the sound. The voice coil seem close to the magnet and seems to be efficent. Little power produces lots of sound. I have hammered mine and they keep going.
