Great Amp

This amp puts out more than it is rated, the birth sheet on my amp said 1300 watts rms. Overall it's a great amp for the money.

Amazing Amp

This amp is an absolute monster at putting out wattage! I was surprised with how small this thing is too especially since it puts out so much! The only problem I had with this amp was that the description says it fits 0 gauge although there is no way that it fits 0 gauge, I had to buy special adapters to compensate for this although not a big deal in the long run!

Works Amazingly

This amp blew me away. I replaced my POS kenwood kac-9105d amp with this and the difference was night and day. I've owned the amp for 6 months had have had no problems with it. It never overheats, even in the 90+ degree heat. My only complaint is hooking up the power and ground cables. 1. The power is on the right when it is traditionally on the left. I almost blew the fuses the first time I hooked it up and since the fuses are internal, I would've had a completely dead amp. My friend did this with his amp and he had to buy a whole new amp. And 2. Fosgate recommends 2-gauge power and ground cable for this amp but I can just BARELY fit my 4-gauge wire into it. It takes me forever to get the power cable in correctly. Not to mention i have the amp mounted on the back of my sub box out of sight, and the terminals are faced inward towards the box! How stupid is that? So not only is it nearly impossible to fit 4-guage wire into it, but you can't see what the hell you're doing either. And they made all their amps like this! Honestly, they could have done things better and made things a lot simpler.

lots of power for the price

My birth sheet said 1,313 watts at 1 ohm. Can't really beat that for the price. Small amp with a lot of power. I recommend upgrading your battery though. My lights dim a lot on my stock battery. It accepts 4 gauge wire but I would recommend running 1 gauge wire to the trunk then use a 1 gauge to 4 gauge distribution block so you will only have about 1 or 2 feet of 4 gauge for more juice to the amp. It does not have a built-in fuse so you need to buy a fuse holder.

Excellent amp for the price

I have this amp pushing 2 Kenwood shallow mount 12-inch subs in my truck. The birth sheet on mine said 1300 watts even, and I have no doubt it puts out that much power. I also have a Prime 400-4D running my Kenwood components in the doors. Maybe they don't have some of the ultra-cool, competition-level amp features found on more expensive amps, but that's not what I bought them for. I like how this amp sounds, and I don't intend to enter any sound competitions anyway. I can't even turn the system all the way up and stay in the truck; that's how loud it is. And even in 95-degree Florida Panhandle weather, neither of my Prime amps get very warm. I would definitely recommend this unit for anyone wanting to add some serious power to their system without having to spend large sums of cash.

I purchased this for a quick replacement for a 5 year old MTX amp that went out; I was very surprised how great this amp sounds with my 2 Rockford Fosgate P3SD412 subs considering how inexpensive and small it is!!!

Second To None!

This is a very powerful amp in a very small package. I paired it with two Rockford Fosgate P3's in a bandpass box. I would definitely recommend it for those wanting the most for their money.

I only have one complaint...the website states that this amp accepts a 0/1 gauge wire for power, but it doesn't. 4 AWG is the largest size that will fit.

Bought this amp to push 1 kicker 12" l7 @ 2 ohms but then I got rid of that sub and got my hands on 2 kicker l5 15's running @1ohm. This amp does a lot more power than it says it can.. By far the best purchase I've ever made. Rememeber people, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! If you buy this amp, you will NOT be disappointed!!

No Regrets

After 6 months I'm happy with this every day. It can deliver without a problem, and the "remote punch" lets you adjust the level on the fly--couldn't live without that now. To make it happy, I upgraded my alternator and battery and added a capacitor, ran a two gauge cable to split into fours (for this and the P400), threw in ANL fuses, and now I'm happy. Real happy.

Not many amps are this cheap but yet still very reliable. I got one of these pushing two kicker 15s at about 600 watts each and they bump. I am very
pleased with the amp and would buy it again if I had to.

When i bought this amp and compared it to my old rockford amp it was sooo differnt , its very light and small and it looks very clean. I got this amp to power my two rockford p3 12s and with this amp they hit HARD. Im very happy i picked this amp and for the price i would probably do it agian

this amp is the best i have had. i had a sony 1,400 watts with my comp sony woofers and sounded ok. i bought the rockford prime 1,200 watts and WOW what a difference in sound. so much better

Small but with a big kick! Got a 15" L7 hooked up to it at 1Ω and holly crap!! Talk about low bass. Def recommend it!!!

Great amp

This amp is deffinitely Rockford Fosgate material. It is pushing my RF T2 15" and going hard. I know the T2 can take more but this is great for good sounding music and still giving that very hard hitting bass. Worth the money.

I am nervous bout ordering stuff online! There is so many risks. When I ordered they made sure it was me ordering the product. And made sure my needs were met. I was pleased with the service as well as the product I bought from them. It was a high quality amp that was very cheap. The amp sounds great and have had no problems with it. Never once have I had a amp that I have running 2 ohms full power going to my subs and it doesn't even get warm. I am very excited I chose this amp from this website.

Will it Push 2, 2011, kicker 15" L&'s?

Im new to the whole "aftermarket sound system in the vehicle" thing, I have the Rockford Prime R1000-D hooked up to, two 2011, 15" kicker L7's.

I have had no issues out of the amplifier, as far as im concerned, the amplifier does what its suppose to do. I see instances online where ppl hook the same speakers up to 5000 watt plus/ better amps, and because of the loud, clean, bass, i get from the speakers while hooked to this Rockford Prime 1000-1D, i dont see a need for the mammoth amplifiers to power the 2 subwoofers.

The Prime R1000-1D is hooked to the subs, which are wired at 2ohms. I have the gain set half way up. They are all hooked to the Fahrenheit TID-8917. The bass settings on the head unit goes to 14 on bass and 14 on bass volume, while 50 on main volume. I have the both bass settings on 3. Treble on 7 since bass drowns out my door speakers which i changed also, and its plenty loud. Every now and then i will turn the volume up at the head unit and turn heads. I would upgrade amplifier if i felt a need to but i see no need to because this amp does what its suppose to do for a "Beginner Amp User," as well as Car Audio beginner like myself.
Price is fair, I bolt everything down to a wooden subfloor i placed in my vehicle under the carpet; so it wont get stolen and will slow intruders down if the alarm stickers and alarm doesnt slow them down enough. Last thing, its small enough to place amp wherever u want in your vehicle.

Very Nice Amp

This thing is TINY... I was BLOWN AWAY at the amount of power it had. I installed it in a friend's 2000 Jeep with 2 15" P3 subs at 2 ohms and the bass is crazy. Flexes the roof, bounces the rear wiper... was making the subs hit so hard snow was falling off my shop's roof. This amp very efficient, didn't have any light dimming (stock alt, 1000 cca battery).

Great amp at a great price!

I have this amplifier pushing a single Alpine Type R 10D4 wired at 2 ohms. This combo beats quite nicely in my F150 in a custom ported rear console box. This amp is very efficient. I am on stock electricals and have no light dimming whatsoever. Amp stays pretty cool as well and puts out a very clean signal. My birth sheet from Rockford says 1304 watts at 1 ohm.

Very surprised when I opened the box...it's so small! I am powering an RE SXX V2 12" @ 1OHM. I light the woofer up for 1/2Hr. at a time, and the amp doesn't even begin to warm up. Would definitely recommend. My birth sheet shows 1300W @ 1OHM

greatest amp

I had this amp for about 5 months and I got to say Rockford Fosgate did a great job. I had this amp pushing a 15" Kicker about 2 weeks later I blew the sub so I switched to a L7 15" kicker and its lasted me for awhile but it started to make a rattle noise so its Time to get a brand new l7 15" Kicker!!! Whoever is reading this the truth is this amp is the greatest has so much power

Best Amp for the buck!!

You will not go wrong with this amp.... birth sheet shows 1330 watts RMS. It stays cool maxed out at 1 ohm and gives my 2 12" punch p3s all they can handle....u will not be disappointed with this amp.

learning lesson

I will say that this is a strong amp that sounds really clean but, it doesn't pair with just any sub-woofer. I have an Alpine SWR 12D2 and it is not enough power. I thought that moving up to Fosgate would be a rewarding investment and instead it was an expensive experiment. I can run the amp at more than 4-5 gain or the protection shuts if off. I have a larger sub-brand amp that can do what this RF can do, all day, and never shut off.

So here is why this pairing doesn't work. (I really really wish that it was enough) Fosgate sub-woofers and most other sub-woofers are designed to function at half of the peak power is rms. (I.e. 250rms/500peak, 500rms/1,000peak. 1:2 ratio) The Alpine I use runs at 1,000rms/3,000peak (1:3 ratio). The rms is perfect matched but when the sub is finally pumping, as it is designed to, the amp isn't stable enough and immediately shuts down in protection.

I'm running an XS 3400D car battery with a Tsunami 2 farad capacitor. I have OFC 1 gauge wires and everything is perfect, until I tried to change my amp to RF. I use my old amp and I guess do not fix what isn't broken. Pair this with a lower power demanding peak sub-woofer and you will like it. It is a seriously strong amp just not with my pairing.

I bought this for my dual RF P3 12's. I had a Hifonics ZRX1200.2 running them before and it was a A/B class amp so overheated constantly and fried it. anyways, I havent had this problem with this one! It puts out power like crazy, and makes em pound! highly recommend! It is such a small amp I thought I got the wrong amp when I opened the box, but nope just a great amp!

This is an excellent amp.

This amp has been a pleasure to own. Very small for a true 1000w RMS CEA compliant amp. The birth sheet that comes with these Rockford amps said it was tested at 1043w RMS, and I believe them! It pushes my two JL 10W3V3 at 2 ohm to their max, and only have it set to 3/4 gain. It has enough juice the flex my windshield and side and rear panels slightly, the mirrors all shake, rear-view will not stay up. Impressive for two 10 inch SQ subs!

I have not been able to get this amp to heat up even after hours of pounding, great design! Crossover is great to cut out the higher freq bass so that you can blend with your front stage, and really get the clean low end punch. The Punch EQ is also great, I'd never buy an amp without it again now that I know what it can do! I find the punch on max allows you to turn the gains down for cleaner, better sounding signal amplification, and it helps to give less bassy songs like Rock some serious kick.

The remote is also awesome, allows you to dial in your amp as you cycle through songs that have different levels of bass. A must for me from now on for subs (unless you have an EQ already or listen to only one style of music.)

The only thing that you'll find on other amps that may make them preferable to you is the THD rating. Although this amp is still quite low at 1.0% Total Harmonic Distortion at rated RMS, the more expensive amps in this power range are .5 -.01% THD at rated power. But you are going to pay for that, and I personally doubt it matters because Rockford under-rates their amps whereas some of the companies advertising Low THD and Higher wattages are often not CEA Compliant and will not produce their rated power, therefore the THD cannot possibly be low at the rated power.

I recommend this amp to anyone looking in this RMS range. You will not be disappointed!!

Amp is Amazing

This amp is so small and easy to place! I also love having it to push my 2 P3D212s because it pushes 1000 at 2 ohms just like advertised. Rockford fosgate makes the best products and this is easily one of them. Everyone askes where I got that amp and my local car audio shop always is saying they need to get some of this in because they are great! Thanks Sonic!

great power in a compact size

I purchased this amp for my boat to run 3 polk 10 in subs this amp is very powerful and clear and does all this with a very small footprint made mounting it a a breeze. would highly recommend this amp to any one. I would definitely recommed this amp. It's small cheap and very powerful. I'm running this on a pair of Rockford Fosgate T0 12s in a 2ohm load pushn them pretty good. Def not over pushing them but for the money you can't beat it!!

Great amp.

I run this amp at 1ohm on stock electrical in a Chevy sonic. It pushes my sub very well and never gets hot. With a combo of this amp and my sub in a 2.6 cubic foot box tuned to 36hz I was able to put up a Term lab score of 140.1db sealed on the dash at 38hz. Also when it comes to rock and country music it produces amazing sound quality.

This amp is compact and built quite sturdy. I'm running two RF P3's and it pushes them very well. I would say that this amp is perfect for anyone putting together their first system and for the price I don't think you could really beat this amp.

Has great sound. does draw a heavy amount of power so you may want to add a Cap. I'm running this amp at 2 ohm but will be running at 1 ohm in the near future. Amp doesn't get hot but does get warm. GREAT AMP over all. Very happy.

its small but plenty of power

I have the r1200-1d pushing 4 12" jl audio w3v3 4ohm subs at 1ohm. The gain is a little over half way and bangs the hell out of them at 14.2 volts and 0/1 gauge wire, i had it for two weeks now.

Bought this amp to replace one that kept frying on me, but all i gotta say is damn, this little sucker puts out some power. I have it at 1ohm and it just runs lol, but in the future ill tell yall if it's fried. It's been two weeks and its still great!

this amp is rather small and it slams the kicker cvr 12" at 2 ohms! youll need to do atleast the big 3 upgrade since its a high powering amp. its advertised as 1200 watt rms amp but mine is certified at 1350 watts rms

Mini-Tank!

This thing feels like a tank! Compact and solid. Nice piano black finish on top. Don't really like the plastic around the amp, makes it feel a tad cheap. And x-over should be 24db/octave. But I see where Fosgate saved money. Where they didn't cut corners is in the power output. My birth sheet reads 1415rms at 1 ohm!! I kid you not! That's the highest one I seen so far. Don't know how believable it is but well see once I hook it up this weekend. Ahhh and that smell of brand new amp. Will update more later.

Best amp in class

I LOVE this amp. I bought it almost two years ago, and have never had problems with it since -- and it still runs perfect and absolutely demolishes my 2 MTX 7500s. It's rated at 1377w as opposed to the labeled 1200w. Rockford DOES NOT overrate like other companies. When you buy from them, it may be a little pricey, but there's no doubt you get exactly what you pay for and even more.

Rockford is by far my favorite line of audio products. I'll be buying another one of these so I have two to push the two T2 15's I'm going to be buying.

Best amp I've had so far!

I would recommend this to anyone looking for these specs. I hooked this amp up to 2 12" Alpine type Rs wired at 1ohm and this amp pounds them. This amp will take abuse! I've had it running at full power for 1-2 hours at a time before. Amp only gets warm! U can put ur face on it,it never gets hot. You can't go wrong with this amp. Rockford has outdone themselves!

Rockford Fosgate R1200

I bought this amp to power two JL Audio 12w6's as a cheap alternative thinking that I would buy a bigger and better amp later when the money presented itself. After having this amp for a few months I think I'll just stick with it. This amp makes mucho power! I thought that my two 12's would only be at about half power but I'd have to say they're probably at about 75% power each which is way more than enough to make my face vibrate. For the money, you can't buy a better amp, props to Rockford Fosgate. Only downside is the tones aren't super super clear compared to the JL 1200HD amp that my friend had on the subs before I bought them from him. He also had a cleansweep on them too though which makes a noticeable difference so that probably has something to do with it but I definitely still give the amp a 4 out of 5.

Great budget amp.

This thing is very impressive. For its size it really pushes my kickers really good. Now I gotta upgrade to a 4 channel amp so I can hear something other than bass.

Great amp

Bought this amp to push two 12" P3 subs. I used the SMD DD1 to properly set the gains on the amp and it pounds the p3's wired at 1ohm. The amp is well worth the money. My only concern with this amp is the terminals face down, sometimes making it difficult to ensure the wires are in the amp properly; other than that this amp is beast.

Just got this amp a couple days ago. It's hooked up to a 15" Kicker CVX and it pushes this thing for all its worth. Very nice amp. I have this thing peaked and it just wont get hot... hardly gets warm honestly. Great buy for the money, and a great match for my sub. Now i just need some serious Dynamat.

Great amp for the price. I have a rockford fosgate power T1000.1bd 2006 model and i cant tell the differece in power. I have had 1 t1 12 dual 4 ohm wired to 2 ohm on both these amps and sounds great.

This Amp is the TRUTH!!!

I bought this amp and have it hooked to a 18" Re Audio SXD4 wired to 2 ohm, although its actually closer to 1.5 ohm, I was worried the amp may over heat since it was does not state that the amp is 1 ohm stable but I bet it would run a 1 Ohm load just fine. The amp and sub are destroying my car and I love it lol. I have a 2000 P71 Crown Vic with 175 amp alt and Interstate Megatron Plus II battery, I never lose power, have dimming lights, or drop voltage, this amp is amazing. In fact I mad that I wasted my money on a 4 farad cap that I do not use. The birth sheet actually rates this amp at closer to 1100 watts RMS(1079 to be exact), Great Value, Great buy well worth the money which wasn't to bad either!

This amp is UH-MAY-ZING. I'm currently running 2 Kicker CVRs @ 2 ohms on it. I did however have the gain maxed, but I recently installed the remote gain control and now it's like halfway & it bumps literally just as hard as if it was maxed. My subs aren't even remotely close to broken in yet, but this amp bangs. After I upgrade my box, I'm going to bolt it into my trunk so nobody can jack my system without having to remove the subs first in order to pull the box & amp out. It may not sound like a thief-prevention, but at least it'll stall them until I step outside and beat their face in until it's concave.

Anyways, this amp is a monster. If you don't care about whether or not your neighbors hate you, I'd highly suggest purchasing this product.

1000 TRUE watts RMS @ 2 ohms for 260... Try finding that elsewhere. :)

Pretty Good.

I have 2 P3D12 in a sealed box with this amp. It should be the perfect setup but it still clips when it is turned up at a certain level. The gain is turned up 9 out of 11 but if I have it any lower it doesn't sound loud at all. This amp shouldn't clip at all. Maybe I'm getting deaf and want more power for my car idk.
For the average user it'll be great to push any system. Very small amp.

I absolutely love this amp! It pushes my 2 12 p3s at 2 ohms and they sound and hit great! Its a tiny amp that makes a lot a lot of power. Does not over heat at all and is overall high quality!

Rockford Fosgate Prime R1200-1D

Highly recommend, I have always run hifonics and decided to splurge based on a friends recommendation. Installed under driver seat in 2018 crosstrek with 4 gauge plenty of room to spare pushing 2 kicker compr at 2 ohm the amp does not get hot or really warm for that matter. I love it, very compact and the bass knob is a nice inclusion. You can change the sound of the bass really easy with it.

prime R1200-1D review

This product came in as described. Shipping was fast and product performed well. I have this driving (2) 12" P1's @ a 2 ohm load and it hits tremendously hard. I installed a 1 farad RF capacitor and my electrical system doesn't feel it at all.

Tengo un sub P2 de 12", pero al subir el volumen en mi radio a 25 se apaga el sub.
EL tecnico me dice que este amplificador no da mucha potencia, que lo debo cambiar.
Dice hecho en china lo cual es de pobre calidad y lo convierte en un amp comun.
Me gusta que es pequeño pero no sirve para lo que lo necesito.

I've owned RF amps in the past. I have 2 punch amps I bought in 1999 and they work great. I bought this amp because of the power per dollar. I'm running one Pioneer 12" pro sub at 4Ohm. I installed this amp on Saturday and it is dead on Friday (six days).
I'm not trained to listen to heavy bass so I've had the gain turned way down and only barely pushed it during the week.
When it quit working I was maybe pushing 30watts out of it. Protection light never came on.

1st Rockford amp ive had

Been into car stereo for a long time and I'm sure some of you know old skool phonix gold ms 275 which was a great amp, started to get old and didn't have anything for ten years then 3 years ago bought a Hifonics amp and 2 10inch kicker subs which were great but I sold the car, a couple of weeks ago decided to buy Rockford Fosgate prime 1200 running a single sealed box 12 type r running at 1 ohm dialed the gain to 800watts .
My god it sounds nice runs the 12 with ease but the bass response is perfect for me as I like to play a lot of different music.I've installed all this including a stinger second battery and still have a boot :)
This is my first Rockford Fosgate amp and would recommend it highly it's so small you think it would not be possible to put out so much but it does

More bang for your buck.

I highly recommend this solid state amp cause it’s smooth and powerful for the money the best value in comparison to the most expensive ones.

Nothing but quality!

This amp is really powerful and easy to set the gain and filters. Everything is well built and easy to hook up wires. Fits 4 gauge power and ground wires and up to 8 gauge speaker wire (overkill) It gets a bit hotter than my old amp that had a built in fan but there are no issues with it playing so far, even in 100 degree plus temps here in Vegas. I would recommend this amp for true power to your subwoofer.

seems like a great amp

i am only running this amp at 2 ohms so i cannot rate its true raw 1 ohm power, but i can tell you this it cooked a NVX VCW 12 rather quickly...and it was professionally set up. never gets hot and i have it mounted behind rear seat in a 2015 ram crew cab,(not a lot of air flow).

Best buget amp. Have a rockford fosgate power t1000.1bd 2007 model and i cant tell the difference from this amp to the power series. Installed 2 other amps (prime 1200.1) in friends car and they couldn't be happier.

I recommend this amp over the 1000bd if you plan on running a pair of P3 10's or P3 12's. I bought the 500x1 for my P1 10's and it worked outstanding. Pretty good amp.

Got this amp and have it installed. Its a pretty straight forward amp. Def has power. I have it hooked to a single 15" NVX VCW Dual 2ohm VC so runing amp at 1ohm in a 2.75cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 32hz per NVX's optimal box size. I also have a 2nd Kinetic AGM battery hooked.... It is a very small and heavy amp. I dont use the onboard low pass filter for it I use my head units xover. The dials are barely marked so its hard to know what they are set at for LPF and subsonic. I played with this amp a lot. I do have an oscilloscope so tuning was quick. Before I got the O scope though you could be a little baffled by the bass EQ on this thing. You dont even need to use it technically. You can throw all ohms law out the window with this amp if you are tuning it with a meter. I originally tuned it to 34.64 volts which ohms law says would be the correct voltage for 1200 watts. Sub barely hit. Tuned it by ear and it was pounding. After getting the O scope I was very close to the settings I made by ear. The "bass knob" that comes with it has nothing to do with the bass eq settings....what ever you have your gain set at is what the knob will be when set to max and you can quiet it my -20db when the knob is turned all the way down. I also highly recommend setting gain with a -10db or -7.5db 40hz test tone. I did it with a -7.5db test tone, but might redo on the O scope with a -10db tone. If you do use a 0db tone you wont be getting the most out of this amp in my opinion. Now that im all tuned this thing has ignorant bass. I am very happy with it so far. I upgraded from a 500 watt JL amp and a 12w6 and its night and day how much better the NVX 15 with this amp is compared to that.

Great amp

I bought 1 of these to power 2 Alpine Type R's wired down to 1 ohm, it hammered them like lil toys, only got warm to the touch and only slightly dimmed the lights with only a XS power 1200 battery and stock alternator. Really efficient amp. I wound up buying another 1 and 2 DC audio lvl 3. Sonic always does good by me.

I'v had this amp installed for about 6 weeks now, paired with the Rockford Fosgate loaded P3 encloser. I love this setup it sounds amazing, loud and low! I can't believe how good of system I have for $700. I would defiantly recommend this setup to anyone! Plus this amp is so small you can mount it under a seat or under the rear deck. Iv had it cranked up for an hour straight and the amp barley gets warm. But make sure you set the gain correctly! I tried setting it up by ear and I kept smelling the coils burning on my subs! I finally broke down and purchased an SMD distortion detector (Sonic- $150). You can use a volt mater to. I don't particerly much care for the way these amps look but for the value it's still nice and worth the money.

I have this amp pushing my (1) Kicker CVX 15 and it bangs!! The amp isn't big, it doesn't get hot, it pushes 1000 rms at 2 ohms, and it doesn't require 0 gauge wire!! What more could you ask for? This is definitely the best amp in its price range.

Amazing amp

Have this hooked up to an MTX 9500 15" dual 4 ohm sub in a 2002 grand prix. Bumps all day in 90 degree weather (but extremely hot to the touch). Damn clean sound for it's extremely low price. Rapes my headlights and interior lights with stock alt.

defective product

This product was installed and 3 days later in went into protection mode and wont reset itself. Have good ground all fuses aren't blowes not over heated. And nothing has burned up in it just wont operate.

Another good Rockford product

my birth sheet had it tested at 1300+ watts, Rockford always under rates the amps they make.. They always over produce which is awesome. You know how you are getting power with this 2006 cea certified company. You get what you pay for, don't bother with cheap amps.

On a side note, this is part of the prime series that is built in China, no avatars on the circuit board or extra build quality and features like the PUNCH and POWER lines with Rockford. But this cheaper series amp is a hell of a lot better than most brands top of the line.. I would get punch of you have money but prime is still good, as long as you have some pinch subs being pushed..

Also the knob that comes with it is a level knob, not a bass boost... 100% on the knob is the max gain you have set on the amplifier... Don't get level boost and punch bass boost confused... This is LEVEL adjustment.. Which is freaking awesome and a lot more useful than bass boost which isn't good to use anyway... Anyway good product.. A+++
