Awesome!

Seeing as there are no reviews on this great product and I was nervous about the purchase I will let you know this is a great set up! and it is LOUD! I love it for the price and convince of having the amp,sub and box all in one package. Its in the trunk of my 2012 camaro and it absolutely thumps.

Pretty good

Honestly I ordered this because I needed a temporary setup while I save more money to buy my dream system.

There is nothing really bad I can say about this woofer, it has great sound quality, its compact, the only thing I don't like is that bass below 35 hertz sounds crappy because its a sealed box and the box is also way too small. If this was in a 2 cubic foot ported box tuned to 32 hertz, it would sound even better with better sound quality.

Some advice I can give to people who have no idea how to set crossovers: Set the lowpass on 80, this means only bass 80hertz and below will go to your subwoofer.
On your headunit, set high pass for the door speakers to 85 or 90, that way only bass above 85 or 90 hertz goes to the door speakers and not the sub.

Put this sub as close to your tail lights as possible, and face them toward the tail lights, basically by corner loading this sub, youll get the loudest, deepest bass.

Let's be blunt...

All I have to say is it blew me over when I turned up after installing.. I expected just a nice touch of bass to my system. Instead, it really overwhelmed when it over achieved my expectations. Honestly to god, this could probably go against some dual 12 inch subs for this single 12 inch.. Have my bass nob turned up 1/3 of the way and it shakes the mirrors. It might just be because I have a little mustang and not an SUV, but this thing hits!!

Great bang for your buck!

Got this because I just a little more bass than what I got from the factory. It does just that, you won't be winning any SPL competitions but it adds just enough. Install was simple, power and ground and got my signal from the factory woofer in the deck and set the remote to auto on! Small enough so I didn't sacrifice any trunk space yet sounds great!! Would recommend!!!

surprisingly great subwoofer

Upon looking at this speaker you don't expect much. But once it's playing you can hear that quality rockford produces. This sub won't break glass or do hair tricks, but for the price you pay, it's a steal. Would recommend for anyone who has little room to spare but still wants great sound.

Cost Effective, Quality Bass!

Well first of all let me say that I was pleasantly surprised by the RF P300-12. This really is a fantastic value product to get some solid bass happening in your ride. I had 2x12" 500W RMS subs 10 years ago and that was great for my early 20's when I wanted to turn heads. Now in my 30's rolling in a demure 2013 Ford Escape I still like quality bass but just don't need the SPL. But don't let that fool you, this thing will still rattle your rib cage!
I actually ordered this on a deal with an 8 guage install kit included. That gives it all the power it needs. The install took me a full day as this was my first sub install and it took me a couple of attempts to patch into a good speaker signal, not to mention fighting through the myriad of plastic panels in my ride. An experienced installer could knock this out in 3 hrs no sweat. One trick on the speaker signal, don't go for a left or right speaker, when the mix sends the bass left or right, your sub will follow, and that sounds ugly. You want a direct sub output or central dash mounted speaker not subject to balance. The length of the signal leads is no problem as long as you run it away from the power cables.
The sub takes a few weeks to wear-in so I recommend running it at no more than 30% (remote level) during that time. You can hear when it switches from accurate bass reproduction to just woofing without care for quality. Keep it under that point during wear-in and it will improve with time like a good wine.
In terms of setup, the 'bass boost' and 'gain' features don't do anything for me. They are basically redundant for my install and using them impacts accurate bass reproduction. The included remote gives me all the gain I need and I never need or want to run it above 50%. The crossover runs from 50Hz to 200Hz and is a handy feature. I have mine set around 65Hz and that suits me.
The convenience of being able to remove this from the car at any time is a huge benefit.
The sealed enclosure is perfect and you can tell this is a well tuned quality unit. Ports are for people who want to puuuush air. I want quality, tight reproduction and low frequency response, and that's what you get with well tuned sealed units like this.
If you're after good quality listening level bass at low cost, the convenience of removing at any time, this is the product for you. Buy it.

Highly Impressed !

I am an experienced Advanced MECP Technician for an install shop and I installed this for a client who brought it in. I typically do not like self powered sub-woofers but this one really impressed me. Granted it was installed in to a 2014 Ford Focus Hatch Back, emphasis on Hatch Back part, but it sounded amazing for a single sub-woofer. Great job Rockford Fosgate ! ! !
It also came with some nice Velcro I applied to the bottom of the hard shell box and it really gripped in to the clients rear hatch area to prevent it from traveling around.
The quick connectors also for power, ground, and remote, as well as for the RCA connections was a pleasant feature as well to work with.

Ity was great also that it came with a Bass Knob as it was a stock radio in the vehicle which we used a line level converter, and having the Bass Knob really gave him the independent sub-woofer control he needed.

Good sound for the price

I love this subwoofer ,i put this in my boat for the kids to have some jam while they tube.it was so easy to install and also easy to disconnect because of being in my boat I wish they made a waterproof one.this is my second one I also bought one for my sons truck i would recommend this subwoofer who wants good sound for the price

Simply Awesome

If you are wanting some bass to complete your system I highly recommend this unit. Its almost spiritual. Its hard not to turn it up. The bass vibration going through the vehicle and yourself is incredible. I have to wear ear plugs when I get carried away with the sound. This was my first purchase from sonic electronix and was very satisfied with the transaction.

I would recommend this product ...For what it is a12inch speaker in a smaller size box in my small car it gives me a decent amount of bass
And the fact it has its own little amp built into the box makes it easy to remove the whole box from the car when I need the extra room as its plug and play the way I have it wired ....I have in my other car a 12 inch JL -W7 on a clean JL 1,000 watt mono block D class amp so I know my bass ...
So the answer is for the price and quality I give it a thumbs up...Oh and Sonic Electronic had very fast delivery and no issues ...I got what I wanted in a very timely manner and I live near Toronto ......

Great sound at great price

Incredible amount of bass from such a compact unit. Free's up the smaller speakers to do what they were meant to resulting in overall improvement of sound quality. Remote boost control a great feature along with auto power on/off. For anyone simply looking to add a bit more punch, clarity and volume; this is the most cost effective way to go. Sounds more expensive than it is.

I love it

This thing seriously surprised me. For 300w, I wasn't expecting much. Once I hooked it up and tuned it, it sounded amazing. It's nowhere near competition equipment but it will do the job for 90% of people. I highly recommend it not only for sounding good but also for ease of installation

Good al in one product

I bought this for my Fiesta, so it has plenty of power for a small hatchback. It replaced a JBL under the seat speaker that didn’t fit under my seat and didn’t sound very good. I don’t really like giving up the little bit of cargo space I have, but that’s the price you pay for the slaps.

Great Product!

The Fosgate Punch P300-12 in the back of my 2000 Jeep Wrangler sounds amazing. It brought to life my stereo system which is all Pioneer in the factory location. Simple install and I used the amp pre outs with rca cables. The box is a plastic type material that will stand up to water instead of a MDF style box, it's a Jeep it's going to get wet. I'm very happy with my purchase, will purchase again for other vehicles. This doesn't replace a $3000 or $4000 stereo system. For the money you shouldn't be disappointed.

Perfect Sub!

It was relatively easy to install, because the amp, box, and sub are one piece. It is not an overly loud sub, and it sounds great! Anyone who is a first time subwoofer buyer needs this one, because of the ease of installing it, and the overall quality of it. Definitely won't disappoint.

Enclosed subs

I have a Kenwood X-599 deck Polk Audio db5252 components in the front with Polk db692 in the rear powered by a Rockford R300x4 4 channel amp I recently added this powered sub to the system (took a little playing with) but finally achieved that solid sub sound I was hoping for hits harder than expected after I got it set up with the rest of the system Really brings the musical experience to life doesn't rattle your teeth but does rattle the car a little

This thing hits HARD!

Easy install, fantastic sound, and almost $100 less than anywhere else. I installed this in my 17 year old's Jeep Wrangler so he could actually have some bass, especially while riding with the doors off and the top down. It's mated to a Kenwood Excelon head unit with 6.5" Kickers in the roll bar & 4.5" Kickers in the dash. I've backed the bass wayyyy down on the head unit to allow the volume of the mids and highs to come out in the Kickers without distorting them - turn up the SW level on the head unit, adjust the output from the sub with the handy-dandy remote, and you're good to go with any type of music.

It fits perfectly behind the seat with about 3 inches of clearance between the grille and the gate. The only con to this dude is that it sucks up roughly 85% of what little cargo space exists in a '99 Wrangler, but it's easily removable if need be.

I can't really speak to the durability of the product because it has only been in the Jeep for 5 weeks...we'll know after the 1st time he gets caught in the rain with the top down, I guess.

This was perfect for saving room and the quick disconnect makes it simple to remove if need be. More than enough bass for an upgraded system. Haven't had it long enough to comment of the durability, but it is built solid.

good sound for the money

For someone who listens to a variety music but does not need to be heard coming from a few blocks away this is all you need. I have a 13 crew cab f150 and was hoping itd fit under the back seat wgich it didnt, but made it work.

Very nice for us old folks

This is a great addition to a factory sound system in a Ford Mustang. I am old and no longer need overpowering bass that can be heard from a mile away, but I do need my music to sound natural and have the normal low end. This sub takes care of that perfectly and fits right up to the seat so you hardly know it's there when it comes time to carry groceries. Installation was easy although I'm not 100% sold on the velcro fastening. I was a little sad that it didn't come with a Rockford Fosgate sticker for my tool box.

Mini Boomer

I like the speaker. For 90 percent of people will be satisfied if they have this in their trunk. I think it was worth the 185$ plus 150 for installation, but I am saving up money for 2 12's in a ported box. The all in one design is cool for those who don't wanna boom too hard or face the complications of hella wires as well as blowing away money. My bass knob is all the way to the right and it hits really nice. The mirrors shake and its more than fills the sound in the car, but for certain types of hiphop sounds I play I do hear the speaker rattle a bit upon itself. It isn't bad but it makes you consider upgrading because you wanna push it harder without possibly breaking something inside. The box is sealed so its accurate, but I will want more. I'll get my bigger boomier setup within a month. Im glad I got it because I know to expect from a sealed box to a certain extent. For beginners and people who want to add more punch to their stereo, its very good, but sense im 19 and want to make people on the street recognize the good shit, I want something that pushes more. My trunk rattled bad imo too until I pushed the trunk hook down more. For 90's hiphop, the thing sounds really good. For modern hiphop, it sounds good a lower levels. At higher levels the speaker struggles with the frequencies that are within today's hiphop/rap, just a heads up. I recommend it though.

P300-12

I really love the design of this setup, however, for $350 there isn't much bass. I'm sure after the break in period it will start to sound better, but with all my settings turned down, and bass knob all the way down it is barely producing. The main reason it is all the way is due to professionals saying to keep it this way for longevity. Im hoping after the break in period i can turn it up a bit more. I will say, it really does compliment my factory speakers in my 2017 Nissan Maxima with Bose. But if you're looking for big bass, turn the other way... If you're looking for a simple beginner setup, with little to no complications, look no further because this will be perfect for you.

Perfect addition for bass

This unit has the amp enclosed and it's a space saver. Installation was simple and it sounds great paired with the factory stereo. It also has auto turn on so no rca outputs on the radio doesnt matter. The remote bass control is great for quick adjustments. It hits pretty hard in the trunk of a full size sedan. It added the low end thump i was missing. Every song sounds 100 times better now. I did replace my factory speakers before adding the Punch 300-12. And im happy with it all.

Compact Package Not so Compact Sound

This P300-12 single powered subwoofer absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was looking for something small to fit in the trunk of my Trax to add a little Bass and this did alot more than that. It's not going to rattle your neighbors windows but you can certainly feel the bass when it's turned up. I was looking for a touch of bass to add to the stereo and this definitely did more than that. Super easy install and easily removed if space is needed.

Rockford Fosgate powered 12”

This thing puts out plenty of clean bass. I added to my stock stereo, which had adequate mids and highs but no low end.

Hunter helped with my questions then did an amazing installation at the corporate headquarters install shop.
