Awesome!

Seeing as there are no reviews on this great product and I was nervous about the purchase I will let you know this is a great set up! and it is LOUD! I love it for the price and convince of having the amp,sub and box all in one package. Its in the trunk of my 2012 camaro and it absolutely thumps.

Honestly I ordered this because I needed a temporary setup while I save more money to buy my dream system.

There is nothing really bad I can say about this woofer, it has great sound quality, its compact, the only thing I don't like is that bass below 35 hertz sounds crappy because its a sealed box and the box is also way too small. If this was in a 2 cubic foot ported box tuned to 32 hertz, it would sound even better with better sound quality.

Some advice I can give to people who have no idea how to set crossovers: Set the lowpass on 80, this means only bass 80hertz and below will go to your subwoofer.
On your headunit, set high pass for the door speakers to 85 or 90, that way only bass above 85 or 90 hertz goes to the door speakers and not the sub.

Put this sub as close to your tail lights as possible, and face them toward the tail lights, basically by corner loading this sub, youll get the loudest, deepest bass.

Let's be blunt...

All I have to say is it blew me over when I turned up after installing.. I expected just a nice touch of bass to my system. Instead, it really overwhelmed when it over achieved my expectations. Honestly to god, this could probably go against some dual 12 inch subs for this single 12 inch.. Have my bass nob turned up 1/3 of the way and it shakes the mirrors. It might just be because I have a little mustang and not an SUV, but this thing hits!!

Great bang for your buck!

Got this because I just a little more bass than what I got from the factory. It does just that, you won't be winning any SPL competitions but it adds just enough. Install was simple, power and ground and got my signal from the factory woofer in the deck and set the remote to auto on! Small enough so I didn't sacrifice any trunk space yet sounds great!! Would recommend!!!

surprisingly great subwoofer

Upon looking at this speaker you don't expect much. But once it's playing you can hear that quality rockford produces. This sub won't break glass or do hair tricks, but for the price you pay, it's a steal. Would recommend for anyone who has little room to spare but still wants great sound.

Cost Effective, Quality Bass!

Well first of all let me say that I was pleasantly surprised by the RF P300-12. This really is a fantastic value product to get some solid bass happening in your ride. I had 2x12" 500W RMS subs 10 years ago and that was great for my early 20's when I wanted to turn heads. Now in my 30's rolling in a demure 2013 Ford Escape I still like quality bass but just don't need the SPL. But don't let that fool you, this thing will still rattle your rib cage!
I actually ordered this on a deal with an 8 guage install kit included. That gives it all the power it needs. The install took me a full day as this was my first sub install and it took me a couple of attempts to patch into a good speaker signal, not to mention fighting through the myriad of plastic panels in my ride. An experienced installer could knock this out in 3 hrs no sweat. One trick on the speaker signal, don't go for a left or right speaker, when the mix sends the bass left or right, your sub will follow, and that sounds ugly. You want a direct sub output or central dash mounted speaker not subject to balance. The length of the signal leads is no problem as long as you run it away from the power cables.
The sub takes a few weeks to wear-in so I recommend running it at no more than 30% (remote level) during that time. You can hear when it switches from accurate bass reproduction to just woofing without care for quality. Keep it under that point during wear-in and it will improve with time like a good wine.
In terms of setup, the 'bass boost' and 'gain' features don't do anything for me. They are basically redundant for my install and using them impacts accurate bass reproduction. The included remote gives me all the gain I need and I never need or want to run it above 50%. The crossover runs from 50Hz to 200Hz and is a handy feature. I have mine set around 65Hz and that suits me.
The convenience of being able to remove this from the car at any time is a huge benefit.
The sealed enclosure is perfect and you can tell this is a well tuned quality unit. Ports are for people who want to puuuush air. I want quality, tight reproduction and low frequency response, and that's what you get with well tuned sealed units like this.
If you're after good quality listening level bass at low cost, the convenience of removing at any time, this is the product for you. Buy it.

I am an experienced Advanced MECP Technician for an install shop and I installed this for a client who brought it in. I typically do not like self powered sub-woofers but this one really impressed me. Granted it was installed in to a 2014 Ford Focus Hatch Back, emphasis on Hatch Back part, but it sounded amazing for a single sub-woofer. Great job Rockford Fosgate ! ! !
It also came with some nice Velcro I applied to the bottom of the hard shell box and it really gripped in to the clients rear hatch area to prevent it from traveling around.
The quick connectors also for power, ground, and remote, as well as for the RCA connections was a pleasant feature as well to work with.

Ity was great also that it came with a Bass Knob as it was a stock radio in the vehicle which we used a line level converter, and having the Bass Knob really gave him the independent sub-woofer control he needed.

Good sound for the price

I love this subwoofer ,i put this in my boat for the kids to have some jam while they tube.it was so easy to install and also easy to disconnect because of being in my boat I wish they made a waterproof one.this is my second one I also bought one for my sons truck i would recommend this subwoofer who wants good sound for the price
