Great amp for the cost

This amp holds up very well for being so affordable. Even though it is not CEA compliant it seems to put out somewhere close to its RMS ratings. Great amp.

Very good product

I bought this amp and an open box Rockford Fosgate 12" for my first system. I bridged the two channels, put it in a sealed box in the back of my blazer and couldn't have been happier. Obviously you can't achieve ground shaking bass with this little amp but for the price, it put enough bump in my truck to make me smile from ear to ear while driving back and forth to school. Well it didn't last long, some lowlife stole my BUDGET system on the first week of school. Now saving for an L7. I would definitely buy another SPL amp, they're great would recommend to anybody without the money for JL or Kicker. oh and my two cents about theives, REBAR and a MIG will keep your box safe as long as you don't care about cosmetics in the trunk,

beware, doesn't reach RMS

Well after reading the other reviews for this product. I was optimistic because it was the only amp at a reasonable price I found that could put out 80 watt RMS at 4 ohm per channel. This amp was for a set of TS-D6902R (RMS at 80 watts), which in no way are a bad set of 6x9's. So I wired everything up, and to get any volume at all I had to set the gain to max. Any time any bass hit the speakers would distort like crazy so I set the high pass filter. This product is suppose to have a range of 40-250hz... 40 hz sounded identical to the 250 cutoff. It filtered zero bass out. So the crossover is extremely ineffective. Then i started to suspect power, so I pulled out my multi-meter to see how much power the amp put out. I used a test tone of 60hz at full volume on the system. It was only putting out 10V per channel at 4 ohms. This is only 20 watts. It should have been pumping out 80 watts RMS, but instead only 20. I checked the bridged power output and found it only putting out about 125 watts, way short of the 180 watt RMS. I have replaced this amp with a Dual xpa2500 (which is CERTIFIED for 50watt RMS), and the speakers sing, so I know it was the SPL amp that was way under powering the 6x9's. Long story short. avoid this amp, buy one that is certified by CES. It puts out the power of a head-unit. This thing has driven me crazy...it I hadn't thrown away the box I would be returning it.
