iPod Car Adapter Type
These are the types of stereos that the iPod connection cable will be compatible with. Some are designed to work with factory/OEM radios, while others are for use with aftermarket stereos.
Compatible Brands
This is the manufacturer(s) that the item is compatible with. Unless it is universal, usually the item will only be compatible with the same manufacturer.

For example, a JVC Bluetooth adapter will only work with JVC units. A Pioneer iPod adapter will only work with Pioneer head units.

Provides a Charge
This means that the cable will provide a charge to the iPod or iPhone while it is connected. On some cables that provide a charge, a power and ground connection will be required.
Allows Audio Playback
This means that the connection cable will allow audio to be transferred from the iPod to the head unit.
Allows Video Playback
This means that the connection cable will allow video to be transferred from the iPod to the head unit.
Cable Connection Port
This is how the cable connects to the aftermarket receiver. Some units use a USB connection, while other use the manufacturer specific port.
Compatible Apple Devices
This list refers to the Apple devices that the product is compatible with.

Some Car stereos are compatible with iPods and/or iPhones. If the headunit can connect to an iPod or iPhone via USB or iPod connection cable, these listed iPods are compatible. This list does not apply if the iPod is being connected through the 3.5mm mini-jack plug. Newer iPods are usually compatible if the appropriate adapters are purchased and used.

Any iPods/iPhones released after the release date of this product have not been checked by the manufacturer and/or Sonic Electronix for compatibility. We therefore cannot guarantee their compatibilities or incompatibilities, including, but not limited to: playback, video, charging, and response time.
