These speakers sound great!!! I got a set of 4 for bmw I'm pushing them with a 400watt amp and they really do well with power I would recommend to anyone looking for good price and sound

These speakers definitely give you all the highs and meds you need. But not much base. Great price for great sounding speakers.

amazing sound in small package

WOW! i was skeptical about the size of the lil woofer but w-o-w. i made sum test enclosures, well damped with speaker carpeting on inside walls & polyester fiber fill. i originally got these mb quarts to use for L/R front for my ps3 gamming sessions,lol & for watching blu ray dvds. i have 2) 12" Crystal Mobile pro subs & Alpine type R mids & highs along w/ Crest audio4000 watt amp, Meyer sound labs X-over & Eq & is way too loud (i love it/neighbors hate it). anyway, these lil speakers shake the floors w/ incredible sound, crystal clear mids & low frequency extension & warm highs! im serious! 1 of these speakers fills my living room w/ great sound! the mbquarts X-over is simple but awesome! i've been listening to music all day. Dianna Krall, Tracy Chapman, Steeley Dan..even Reggae & Rock. no matter what i trow at them they play every musical note to perfection! ps try Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon album,lol i only used the Quarts X-overs straight from my amp. & tried tweeters at -06dB, but ended up w/ a final happier setting of -03dB. Very loud & clear speakers, i must admit! Mb Quart didnt dissapoint again, even w/ a smaller driver, now excuseme, i gotta go take another listen, i cant get enough!!

If you're into understated quality stop looking and purchase these potent radio bangers. From the tweeters to the "mid woofers", these Quarts make even old songs sound new and alive. I do worry that once I amplify mine I may never leave my drivers seat...seriously.

these are some awesome sounding mb quart components and with a little power they get pretty loud with a crystal clear sound they even sound better than my kicker 6.5 components

Speakers sound great!
Installed in the rear of 1st Gen XB.
Just as a test I hooked them up to the stock stereo and they sounded real good, installed to the amp they kick hard and the tweeters sound fine not harsh though I do run them at -3db.

I did a lot of research and you will not find a better speaker for the price!

Even though these are discontinued, I'll review them anyway. I ordered these for a 91 Miata, they don't quite fit this car, but I made them fit as I like the separate tweeters these came with. I had to drill out the holes on the door for the tweeters and the panel. This was my very first install of separates on any car, it took a while but I got them installed. The larger speakers were a bit small and barely reached the edges, but managed to get them installed. I put the crossovers inside a sandwich bag and then inside the door to keep them dry when it rains and car washes. So far they have worked fine and are loud enough with just my cheap head unit. The only thing I didn't like about the tweeters is that they attract anything magnetic, like dirt that gets stuck on them. Other than that as long as no one puts their fingers on them they won't break. So I would recommend them or find something else. I just like the way these looked so I didn't really know what to expect, but they turned out fine. I just wished they came with rain covers so you don't have to go looking for them. The ones I bought did not fit, so I had to leave them without one.

Great improvement on factory sound..

First off, great shipping from this company. I ordered on wednesday and it was here on saturday even though it was a holiday. I ordered these as replacements for my factory speakers which had blown. Right now they are on my deck alone and sound amazing. The widesphere tweeter stands out a lot!! What an improvement...buy them!!

Money Well Spent

The sound of this speaker system is accurate and efficient. The dynamic range is good. I doubt anyone would be disappointed with these speakers. Here's where I deduct points:
Look/design - the midbass grilles are cheesy and ugly, which doesn't matter anyway, because I'm using the GMC original equipment. The tweeter mounts look good, and that matters, because they're right there on the door.
Durability - I had a problem replacing the crossover cover on the passenger side, and had to seal it shut with RTV. I now get to worry that the cover will fall off inside the door.
Ease of Use - see the problem above. Also, the tweeter leads came with very small uninsulated female disconnect terminals, but no male mates to crimp onto new cable for attachment to the crossover. I bought proper mates, but then had to add electrical tape and a nylon tie to keep the contacts separated. Heat-shrink would have been a better idea, but I had none on-hand. Other than that, there was enough hardware supplied to build a barn. One lucky break on the installation of the crossover: The span between the mounting holes nearly matched a couple of holes in the door under the door panel, so a couple of screw anchors, Weld-Bond on the anchors and Loc-Tite on the screws, and hopefully that bad puppy will stay put.

To reiterate, the sound is awesome; I put a set of Polk db461p in the dash and I have to turn them off with the fader when I listen to music, or they kill the accuracy. No matter, the Discus can deliver all the sound I need in that little pickup truck cab, and I can save wear on them by listening to news and sports on the db461p's.
